I can only agree with all the positive posts about this module. Have been waiting for this since the late noughties and now that it is here, I feel weird. In some way I miss the feeling of anticipation for its release. It has been especially encouraging to see a lot of MiG29s on a MP server dominated by Blue. Hopefully it does sell well enough for ED to create more FF versions of the 29, Su27 and Su25. This is the first a/c model that I have purchased in over a decade from ED and it has been worth the painful wait. Huge thank you and thumbs up to everyone involved with its creation.

Long start times from desktop to main menu
SAM77 replied to Simicro's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I had a try at rolling back the Intel ME that accompanied the latest bios but it wouldn't allow it. So, I guess I'm stuck with the latest bios. I'll try reinstalling WIn11 and pray that fixes it otherwise I can leave HT off for now. Someone mentioned the latest major Windows 11 update contributed to their long loading time (which could also apply to me as I did all these things around the same time) so yeah hoping a fresh install fixes it. Thanks for your report on how rolling back the Bios fixed your system. -

New bios was released couple days back for my mobo. I updated my bios today to the latest version along with Intel ME. Now I have this issue with long loading time. I turned off Hyperthreading in bios and it loaded much quicker. In addition, with HT on exiting from game to desktop takes significantly longer than before. I will live with it for now. Hopefully the fix mentioned will solve it. I plan on reinstalling win11 anyway when MiG29 is released. If the problem still exists, I will consider reverting to the previous bios version. I ignored the golden rule "If it isn't broke don't fix it" -

So doing some wishful thinking. There have been two vids released by Wags. Introduction and startup. He mentioned navigation and weapons employment to follow. With the release rate of 1 vid per week we have two weeks to go. Possibly three if there is a landing vid added. Soon, very soon! 21 days to go Also answered in the YouTube vid comments was G and S version coming if A sells well.

Setting myself up for maximum disappointment. 47 days to go! edit - I screwed up. Should have added my disappointment at no release in September (I understand its planned release don't get excited) not at quality of the module.

I have recently got back into flying the Ka50(BS2) online MP server and have noticed that the nav light intensity is weak in daylight compared to other aircraft. I've tested this at night with a parked aircraft and noticed that the increase in intensity of the nav lights (10,30,100) only shows up as lighting the ground beneath or the fuselage of the helicopter. The actual intensity of the bulbs does not increase at all. 10% is the same as 100% when zoomed out from the aircraft externally. Any chance this can be looked into? It's been a while, so I don't know if the BS2 is supported.

Also, you will pop a tyre if you land unevenly. I don't know at what speed you are hitting the brakes or if you are using the drag chute. If you're not using the drag chute, I would suggest you start and wait till your speed is down to 220km/h before hitting the brakes. Just to add that drag chute deploy max speed is 310km/h and brake application at 220km/h or lower. I got those numbers from the German MiG29 manual.

Thanks for testing it out, Ironhand.

I get all this, but I just want to have a full fidelity aircraft instead of an "arcade" FC3 MiG29. Also is it just me or are the radars all messed up in the FC3 MiG 29s. It seems like the A radar works better than the S. The A seems to pick up targets quicker than the S. I haven't done any testing myself only going off feeling using both models on the same MP server.

Potential mistake in MiG-29A FAQ about R-27ER and R-27ET

Aah ED just make a MiG 29S and the problem is solved. -
Great suggestion. +1

Haven't been part of a squadron since the MS CFS II days but would probably join a virtual MiG 29A squadron. On the wrong side of the world though.

I hear you on being competitive. I fly the S version mainly and have recently used the A version to get ready for this. I find with the A its launch/hit/miss and run. Especially when its 1 vs 2. In the S you can be more aggressive, but you still have to know when to bug out. I'm still going to get it regardless. I just hope the number of purchases is high enough to make ED give more attention to Red.

I've been waiting over a decade for this. I really want the S version. Hopefully with enough purchases of MiG29A, ED will develop that as well. Definite buy for me. Now it's time to build a new PC
