Setting myself up for maximum disappointment. 47 days to go! edit - I screwed up. Should have added my disappointment at no release in September (I understand its planned release don't get excited) not at quality of the module.

I have recently got back into flying the Ka50(BS2) online MP server and have noticed that the nav light intensity is weak in daylight compared to other aircraft. I've tested this at night with a parked aircraft and noticed that the increase in intensity of the nav lights (10,30,100) only shows up as lighting the ground beneath or the fuselage of the helicopter. The actual intensity of the bulbs does not increase at all. 10% is the same as 100% when zoomed out from the aircraft externally. Any chance this can be looked into? It's been a while, so I don't know if the BS2 is supported.

Also, you will pop a tyre if you land unevenly. I don't know at what speed you are hitting the brakes or if you are using the drag chute. If you're not using the drag chute, I would suggest you start and wait till your speed is down to 220km/h before hitting the brakes. Just to add that drag chute deploy max speed is 310km/h and brake application at 220km/h or lower. I got those numbers from the German MiG29 manual.

Thanks for testing it out, Ironhand.

I get all this, but I just want to have a full fidelity aircraft instead of an "arcade" FC3 MiG29. Also is it just me or are the radars all messed up in the FC3 MiG 29s. It seems like the A radar works better than the S. The A seems to pick up targets quicker than the S. I haven't done any testing myself only going off feeling using both models on the same MP server.

Potential mistake in MiG-29A FAQ about R-27ER and R-27ET
SAM77 replied to quantum97's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Aah ED just make a MiG 29S and the problem is solved. -
Great suggestion. +1

Haven't been part of a squadron since the MS CFS II days but would probably join a virtual MiG 29A squadron. On the wrong side of the world though.

I hear you on being competitive. I fly the S version mainly and have recently used the A version to get ready for this. I find with the A its launch/hit/miss and run. Especially when its 1 vs 2. In the S you can be more aggressive, but you still have to know when to bug out. I'm still going to get it regardless. I just hope the number of purchases is high enough to make ED give more attention to Red.

I've been waiting over a decade for this. I really want the S version. Hopefully with enough purchases of MiG29A, ED will develop that as well. Definite buy for me. Now it's time to build a new PC

It seems to me that the shot of the nozzles is of the new 3D model. Different colours to the FC version. MiG29S anyway.

I'd be happy with a MiG29S first. Damn it, if they can do an F35 they can damn well give us a MiG29 with some actives. Btw I'm going crazy. It seems like every update ED does there is a change in the FM of the MiG29. Before the latest update muscle memory wasn't working when it came to doing smooth landings now it is much easier.

Mig29 radar elevation not working

Which model MiG29 are you using? It is working for me in the MiG29S online and offline. -
Jettison weapons drops centreline fuel tank
SAM77 replied to SAM77's topic in Flaming Cliffs Bugs & Problems
Fair enough still find it weird that there are separate keys for weapons jettison and fuel tank jettison. I haven't tried this with the MiG29A. Will give it a go later today. Thanks for the info. -
I flew my first online ground attack mission in the MiG29S and I loaded out with centreline fuel tank, bombs, rockets and a couple of r77s. Did my ground attack and wanted to ditch the rocket pods. Pressed weapons release and my centreline fuel tank got released as well. Is this normal? Still had plenty of gas left in centreline.

Damn only two months to save up for a new build. Was hoping it would be after tax time.

The page for Afghanistan Map on the DCS website is in Italian for the English version of the site.

It seems to me that it used to be easier before the latest update. I feel like ED are making changes to the FM but not announcing it in the update notes. Anyway, one thing I keep in mind is to reduce focus on hitting the numbers and just fly the plane. For me the 260-270 km/h touchdown speed is for a low fuel aircraft. In the Mig29A final approach instant action for the Caucasus the aircraft has 3000kgs of fuel. I've attached a track I did today from that mission. Constant trimming and power adjustments are required but it is possible to do extremely smooth landings in favourable conditions. Crosswind landings are a bitch though. Rudder authority is so strong. I think it's time I stopped flying the MiG29s and start flying the MiG29A or MiG29G. Start getting prepared to die, a lot.

I noticed that there is no heat blur at idle power for the MiG29A and S. I have heat blur on high in settings. It only appears once you advance the throttle. This can't be right? Is this a bug?

Happy holidays to all! Best wishes for 2025!

Where my FF MiG29? Anyone got gossip? Something, anything, make it up if you have to.
-
Anyone notice their Mig29 goes supersonic in mil power? I was in a MiG29S on the Through The Inferno server. Aircraft was clean and at >9k alt. I was assuming supersonic was only possible in AB but I don't know what rl Mig29 can do.
-
Phew! I thought I had changed something in settings. I managed to rip the wings off today pulling high G at high speed. Something I've never been able to do before. I wonder why ED never mentioned it in the update notes. Aircraft feels so good compared to before. It kind of feels wrong for it to fly so well. Not that I have a clue about what is right/wrong.
