Viking? YES!!!! As a retired Aviation Boatswains Mate (Equipment), I've hooked up everything from a RAC-5 Vigilante, to the Hornet and all in between. Each one is different, and each one is vital for the mission of the Navy, so I'm saying a big YES for the add-on for a few good reasons. Mainly because DCS World has submarines, and if you have subs, you must have the "Hunter", dropping sonor bouys in the water to locate them. Also with the new Supercarrier, it's the perfect compliment in creating a complete Airwing for deployment. So for those who wish NOT to have it, that's fine with me. Just don't buy it...Simple. Nobody's forcing you. It would also add a totally different sound as it's engines sound like Hoover vacuum cleaners...So I say YES, bring it too me

Hello all. I'm having some issues with ME with both 2.5.6 and stable. Stable first: 1.) Can only use the Persian Gulf map. On both other maps when I select my plane, I can't place it and when trying to exit back out, it won't let me. So it's CTRL/ALT/DEL. 2.) The only option for Russian birds is su-27 3.) Missing lots of downloaded liveries 2.5.6 update: Lost ALL my FC3 planes and my beloved A-4E. They are in the folders but looking at the dates, they are not the same as the dates as when everything else was updated. I performed the update on 2/22 and those files still have January dates. Please help...… Thank you

I just watched the YouTube video on the new MAC. They even called it "Simulator". It is far from simulation. It's an arcade type game which mirrors the Ace Combat series for XBOX/PS4. That's where the competition will be. DCS World is a piece of art designed, operated and maintained by geniuses which are updated daily. These forums are headed up by remarkable people as well, assisting other newer member/pilots with their knowledge. If you run across anything puzzling, someone is right there with the answer and explanation to guide you. This is Simulation. Take Cap and his Grim Reapers boys. They will take a real life scenario and use DCS to recreate it even down to the temperature and say, wind over deck. 90% of the time their findings are true. Growling Sidewinder is great to watch and learn. Talks about altitudes and the changes that occur with the effects of energy surrounding both plane and missiles. And the tutorials either video or reading ,i.e Chuck's Guides. Hundreds of hours spent just to help folks. I could keep going Sure it can be pricy but like they say, you get what you pay for. Even the new Microsoft/ 2020 coming. DCS will stay on top. Granted they will have more maps but you won't be able to strafe and drop cluster bombs on any bad guys. And it's going to be a XBOX game. I see this as a very expensive sim. In all I feel DCS will stay on top always see this as a very expensive sim

Teldja. thank you. Got it. It nearly took 12 hours to complete the download. But you know what? I read some of the notes and said visual improvements. I was truly amazed how sweeter it looked. First thing made a small mission at around sunrise and breezy. Wow thhe water and whitecaps plus rising sun on side of a black F-18 was simply beautiful.

Went to do the update and said not enough room in folder. Asking if I want to put in another folder. If so, what folder would you recommend or how and what I can get rid of to make it fit

Funny that I'm reading this as this was my same question last week. All of the responses were over the top with info and recommendations. These guys are great. So after a lot of reading I went with the Samsung EVO 970 M.2 1TB and it was a most excellent choice. Theses guys really pointed me in the right direction

With all of the Mods and Terrains I just bought, it sure doesn't waste anytime filing up your storage. Especially when there is more to get. Halfway thru the download of the F-18, Supercarrier, an Su-33 the dreaded Storage Full stopped everything. I shimmied around and finished my download. And that's all I can do. So first thing in the morning I'm heading out for storage. My working SSd is 512GB. Now I'm reading about M2 and SATA Question. Would another 512 be ok or should I beef it up to 1TB. I was looking at Amazon and saw this Samsung-970-EVO-Plus-MZ-V7S500B. Is this a good one? But I would get the 1TB I think. Thanks for taking the time.

I know this is simple but I can't figure on how to swap skins on my bird like say during a free flight cruise. Just got the Persian Gulf Terrain and wanted to head down to Jebel Ali For a fly over. And wanted to change out my skin to another. Is this possible? That was my home away from home every time our carriers stopped. But then there was no Palm tree islands

Short intro. I'm 60 year old Retired US NAVY Aviation Boatswains Mate Equipment (Catapults & Arresting Gear) so you see aviation is my life and when I first saw DCS I was amazed and said someday I will do this. So the time is now. The last few months been getting my 'rig' together and am very pleased with my purchases. I'm having a ball (Roger Ball). Until I wanted a new fangled mouse. What a mistake. But I'm not going to let it kick my ass. New mouse...Logitech G502 SE (HERO).Got it downloaded after 4 tries but its no registering DCS World. I even manually typed in the .exe. It was formatting games I don't have. So I think I have it set as default. But still unsure. Does anyone of you mighty fine airmen have this type of mouse that might be able to help, or should I just give it to my granddaughter and stay mouseless. I will add that I have the Thrustmaster T-16000 FCS which I've downloaded for each A/C from the user files. Maybe the mouse was a dumb idea. Somebody give me a reason to keep it. In closing, I'm glad to be apart of this. And can hardly wait til the supercarrier comes. I got my bundle pre ordered. The flight deck was my life for 20 years and seeing this takes me right back. Thanx for all your hard work so that guys like me can still be "Haze gray and Underway"

Good questions. As a retired ABE the a fully functional PLAT would make the realism expand. From watching the trailer, the shot of the PLAT looked very true. Let's hope

Don't ignore the SU-33. There is a sale that if you pre order the Super Carrier, the F-18 and Su-33 can be bundle. Even though it's the same as FC#, except that single version has a CLICKABLE COCKPIT.

This is crazy. I too just bought the Logitech G502 SE (HERO) and was wondering how to do this. Thankfully everything is pretty much set up for the Thrustmaster TC16000 M and also available separately for each aircraft to download. I'm relatively new, and with that comes questions. I've, made a list of some but I religiously read this forum, so I cross them out almost daily. The members here are incredible and make sure everything is understandable.

I cannot believe that I just read this post...TWICE. So you are complaining that DCS has designed a brilliant and beautiful module which took years to develop in order for us to enjoy the realism of real life. You probably have no clue as to the time, and money it took to create this masterpiece. I just watched the interview with the Microsoft developers for there new and upcoming Simulator. They are all pretty much embarrassed that they are not even close to the reality flight operations. I am a Retired US Navy Aviation Boatwain`s Mate (Equipment) ABE for short. Catapults and Arresting Gear and I spent my whole career on those flight decks. I have watched the trailer many, many times and can`t tell real from animation. Honestly I don`t care how much it costs. I`m saving up for it. BTW I think most ill agree that whatever the cost of the Mod, it will be money spent wisely. DCS evidently isn`t for you. You`d be better off with your Garuda`s and Ace Combat and leave the real flying to us.

Greetings I am brand new to DCS. Just downloaded FC3 and a few campaigns, and after comparing it to my Training menu, I think I'm missing a bunch of stuff. There is no options for any included aircraft. Only the SU27. No f-15 or others. The planes are installed because I did a mission from a campaign I also purchased. So in other words, there is no Fam flights for other aircraft. Is there something I missed during the download?
