  1. Weird, I've been able to ReArm/Refuel with the engines on and the canopy open ... just did it 5 times ... must be my config I guess. WOMB - Works On My Box!!! ;-)
  2. I have discovered that the Canopy must be open in order for them to service the request.
  3. Thanks, I saw this several times today - it just wasn't that apparent to me before ..
  4. At the bottom of the HUD - the word Note is flashing not quite sure what caused it ... where do I go to read about it or why it's there?
  5. A few F-21A's (KFIR - if I remember correctly) was purchased (or leased) by the USMC back in the late 80's for Disimalar-Air Combat Training - as I've seen them fly in MCAS Cherry Point (NC).. way back then.
  6. WOW! It's been a long time since I've heard the acronym "TCTO" -- brings back fond memories... ;)
  7. Excellent question, been having the same issue - and when I get closer, all seems to work fine ... now, that just clarifies my issue -=-
  8. Has anyone noticed that in the 1.1.0.9 version you're no longer able to re-arm when doing training missions? I call the ground crew and nothing happens. It used to work in the previous patch but, not anymore ... just an observation..
  9. I've actually thought of using that as a solution - but "The Wife" won't let me put anymore hardware on the dining-room table - which is where I have my "Man Cave" / Workstation) ... sad but true... :megalol:
  10. Yep, that's hooked-up and it's FULL too... I have 3 external HDs and plus some other peripherals; in addition to the TM HOTAS. That's ok, I can live w/out the TrackIR for now (been flying sims for sometime w/out it) ... the Trim(View) Hat works for me.. I do want to clarify my Modifier -- it's NOT the "Pinky switch" but the "Paddle switch" instead - sorry my bad
  11. LOL -- that's funny. In fact, I do have a TrackIR (v3+Pro-Clip) but I just don't have enough USB ports available on my Alienware laptop... So, I have use the Trim Hat for View and of course the Modifier for Trim...
  12. I have the TM HOTAS and I use the Pinky Switch + Trim Hat to trim the A/C ...as EtherealN says, trim is needed always to maintain level (or non-level) as desired. IRL that works the same...
  13. So have I, many many many times... We called the the O-2A the "Duck" - and I've seen the movie Bat21 at least 30 times over the years; a great Gene Hackman/Danny Glover flick... :pilotfly:
  14. Mine feels perfectly fine... 3 definite switch positions.
  15. Request: Can someone please post the updated .zip file so I can take a quick peek at the mod.. Just don't want to install/load winrar or whatever tool to un-rar then re-zip ... Thanks much appreciated! Edit: Never mind ... the .zip file is too large ... sorry, I should have looked before I posted... my bad
  16. I like it too -- good work!
  17. I agree - all my time in the USAF the standard approach was always an overhead pattern to landing. It helps ATC with spacing-out the traffic on approach. As Paul said, it's very unusual to do straight-in approaches. But with IFE's - that's another story...
  18. Rog, Paul - I "sit" corrected -- as I'm still testing the 1.1.0.9 patch... :smartass: I used to be a flying crew chief on O-2A/OV-10A/OT-37B's way back when.. We never had the crew chiefs on EOR duty, only the weapons troops (Patrick AFB, FL - 21st TASS) ... Got many hours of flight time before I got my wings ...
  19. EOR - that's where the Weapons Troops pull the safing pins on all of the weapons and perform a minor look-over of the aircraft to make sure nothing is leaking or any other abnormalities before takeoff. Of course, that's assuming that nothing has changed since the late 80's ... :pilotfly:
  20. Try this .. Multiple JDAM drop ---
  21. Yeah, I hear ya... I used to work for Rockwell/United Space Alliance (USA) supporting the STS program back from 93' - 97' [as a Software Engineer] after I left the USAF (which we indirectly supported the Space Coast while in the USAF) ... It's really sad to see the system go away .. gonna miss the double sonic-booms on landing everytime they come back .. it actually shakes the house windows; really impressive ... I saw the Challenger explode with the MK-1 way back then.... memories... Ok, back on topic now? ;-) Edit: I remember having A-10A's that used to come to Patrick AFB, FL (@Cocoa Beach, FL) back in 84'+ to practice doing FAC missions to support our OV-10A/O-2A training operations -- and I've been in LOVE with them since then... I've seen the A-10A's fire the GAU-8 from both the air (after firing Marking WP rockets from an O-2A) and the ground at the ranges in Avon Park, FL and near Shaw AFB, SC over the years ... impressive to say the least...
  22. Self-Assigned Moderator: Ok guys -=- we all have our points - this thread is getting away from the actual topic .. But, ;-) , extremely good conversation -- just like 2 lawyers [Prosecution/Defense] (AKA from the Casey Anthony case here in Orlando this week) has been entertaining ... No matter what we discuss, both NASA and Defense contractors (which whom I work for supporting the US Army, will always cost more... BTW: Unrelated to this thread, the LAST Space Shuttle will not launch tomorrow because the weather here will be horrible... assuming that most of us on this forum care about the STS history.. Have a Nice Day!
  23. True that - in economics terminology - it's called "Economies of Scale" - or something like that... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economies_of_scale Defense contractors have to meet stringent criteria; and that will always cause the price per unit to be a much higher cost - that's business
  24. You just gotta LOVE the realism of this sim!!!
  25. LOL -- I was just looking at it on Amazon when you posted this ... :pilotfly::thumbup:
