I don't know the gory details of the relational / comparative history of the 33 vs the 29K but isn't the 29K quite a bit more modern and up to speed? More serviceable? I'm sure they say they're looking at it- due dilligence. But would they really buy it? Certainly not anything resembling the LOMAC model. The 33 is stuck in the 70's.. All it needs is a tie-dye paint job, and peace signs on the V-STABS Don't freak. For LOMAC purposes- I spend almost ALL my fighter time in the 33. Ask anyone. :D

Even if it posessed the avionics it's just impractical. That missile belongs on a Bear or something.. Still was kind of fun though...

If put in the classic storyline of being forced to fly & eventually land a plane- You'd stand a better chance of getting it on the ground, and surviving the crash, than a non-simmer. LOMAC could help you with the basics of stick & rudder flying, but is nearly useless in terms of knowing the actual positions of critically needed systems, Not to mention using them. (you don't get a custom "profile" in a real aircraft) DCS on the other hand- yep. That's got to be a lot better.. You actually have a slim chance of NOT fireballing into the runway. IF the WX is good. IF there's nothing wrong with the plane..... Avoid boarding planes with a pilot if he looks like he may not survive the flight, mmkay? None of us is as good as we think we may be. (real aviators excepted)

Probably need to raise or lower your scan cone.

Awacs vector to tanker is mostly way off. Can call for it 3 times or more in succession and get wildly different calls. (both bearing & range) The only discernable pattern to this is it seems to behave this way for a bit after taking off. Few minutes later- it works fine. Took some screens just prior to carrier touchdown. Wingman confirms he saw the messages. None of them appeared in the folder. 7 screens from a prior session in there now

Just fixed it- right click\ properties\shortcut\ change icon\ selected it OK\apply.. all by myself, too. :doh:

Well- I can't find the specific answer anywhere- so I'll ask it here. If I were to map "all & team chat" to say "Y" & "T" or some other simple key whose defaults I consider unimportant- will that correct the total lockdown problem? I tried alt+tab the other night - did not appear to correct it.

I tell you- building a pit is sounding like good fun when I'm back on my own..

Yeah, there's a few.. Off the top of my head- Trim commands are slightly different, lock/ unlock, scan cone, cycling of waypoints, I think.. or maybe it was hUD color.. Anyway- I clicked a button on my stick for something and it brought up the chat box, and yikes.. total lockdown.. :) That should motivate some people to get on comms..

R/ER has always been on the Mig.(ER loaded onto the "A" mig may be wrong- don't know) If you meant to type R77- the S was the only one equipped to fire it. I think the R77 loadout had been incorrectly modeled until now, but other than that.. Along these lines- was there any progress on real TWS engagement capability? I don't have much virtual stick time in the MiG- just curious.

Resolution/ aspect config I set up to 1680x1050 in options, but when reviewing the graphics.cfg I see this: DisplayMode { resolution = {1024, 768}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.333333333; Interface { resolution = {1024, 768}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.333333333; } Simulation { resolution = {1024, 768}; bpp = 32; fullscreen = 1; aspect = 1.333333333; } AVI { resolution = {640, 480}; fullscreen = 0; aspect = 1.3333; Am I correct to change these values like before? (click) or should I just correct the "simulation" section?

I like it so far. Nice work, everyone. Still trying to configure and fix my buttons for the changed key commands.. The CMC file that us CH users love is a hinderance at the moment.. Need a new one :) Still have 6 DOF on.. getting used to it.. The head rolling movement is a little dizzying, but I think I might learn to like that after a bit.. I got caught up in that chat window issue.. wtf is THAT? I know there's a thread about it somewhere.. it's almost 1 AM here so I'll look tomorrow, but jeez!! I had to exit out completely, and reload my CH map to get my PTT button working again.. That's the only major thing I've encountered. Very nice.

If you combined your CH devices during the initial profile loading- you will need to download your profile (mapped mode) before configuring axis in lockon.

I also changed to caps. According to my cardmember services rep, it's actually my bank's security people auto- rejecting it. So I think one of my guys is gonna hook me up with his working card.. Don't want to wait til Monday to fight with them...

Can't Purchase. Keeps saying declined on 2 different Visas- and No- it's not me. Nothing wrong with either card. edit: Looks like I have to call my credit union in the AM. Security is blocking the charge. Likely due to being in Russia..

hmm I could be wrong , but once released- an IR is on it's own regardless, yeah? Are they capable of receiving datalink updates about a new target in the event they go ballistic? Just seems an unlikely built in capability as the flight times are so short
