  1. First powered flight Kitty Hawk NC Took a short break and went to Outer Banks NC with my lady- Obviously I had to go check out the site of the first powered flight of an "aeroplane" ever.. Google Picassa-- http://picasaweb.google.com/103914262850733094082/WrightBrothers# Other pics of OBX if anyone cares... -- http://picasaweb.google.com/103914262850733094082/NagsHead#
  2. Using the power meter on the Beryoza- you can get a rough idea of how close the locking platform is.. From that info- assume that the missile is closer... :D
  3. Get a set of CH, bro. Indestructible. www.provantage.com Cheaper than buying a second Saitek to replace the broken one. By the way-- what's up fellers.. been a while.
  4. Good call. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=771136&postcount=13
  5. CH Products uses CH manager. Foxy is Thrustmaster. Buy CH products at www.provantage.com
  6. OK since you've already followed these instructions- I'm afraid I have to fault your stick. Similar thing on my old Saitek- mine would fail to register more than about 90% (intermittently) You may be able to take it apart and clean it, but I'd suggest this at your earliest opportunity. I also have this re-cal tool for the X45- http://konkussion.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=x45&action=display&thread=20 It didn't help mine out all that much- but give it a shot. Follow the directions, please.
  7. I've got the 5 as well... worth it
  8. A huge boon to the new pilots for sure... LOMAC in its current form is plain tiring to explain- and I've got a whole site dedicated to doing just that. This will ensure that many more of our nugget pilots stick with it.
  9. You must further be careful in the russian fighters, because if the radar loses lock- it willautomatically default to the Thermal EOS system in an attempt to reacquire the target's heat signature. Heat cannot be distinguished as friend or foe. If you detect an aircraft from it's heat sig- and you are not absolutely certain it was the aircraft you lost radar contact on, etc- you might want to lock it thermal, then switch back to radar and perform your IFF query
  10. You could reassign it to something else like "Y" or other key you don"t care for and fix this, yes?
  11. If your Saitek breaks- replacing it once will exceed the $ that a set of CH Professional will cost you. (comparing US funds) The CH gear will NOT break. However- it's perfectly logical to go cheap if you are not 100% dedicated to the flight sim genre. You gotta start somewhere- and trying to fly this with no HOTAS is like trying to build a racecar with just a pair of visegrips. EDIT: Italia & worldwide-- http://www.chproducts.com/retail/world.html
  12. Definitely not disappointing as long as you can appreciate LOMAC for what it is. Remember that LOMAC is the gateway to DCS. All indications are that DCS will become the simmer's dream come true- where oil & water finally mix. (looks and delicious complexity/realism) There is an F16 coming that will likely retire the venerable Falcon title forever. That's not a shot- just the real world. It may be a ways off, but it's on our side of the horizon. If the overall Black Shark model impressed you at all- think of the features that DCS A10 will have, and what new s**t Eagle can cook up between now and it's eventual release. Then apply that thought to DCS Apache, and DCS F16.. We all benefit when Eagle does well. Hopefully more Falcon pilots will join you.
  13. No I meant me- lol.. I can follow about ..oh half the terminology?:smartass:
  14. Hoo boy.. Better bone up on your pilot jargen...
  15. Yep. That's a problem. I'm definitely liking the sound of the various trigger ideas as a stop-gap. Worth a trial IMO. Obviously the triggers that cannot be made to perform as intended- or produce detrimental result can be eliminated..
  16. I have to disagree.. no military aircraft would leave the earth w/ no radio, and no ATC. Unless the person is alone in the server- there's a need for ATC. I would definitely implement the taxiway takeoff trigger right away. The rest of it can be handled by ATC: Sitting on runway while refueling.. General operations- doing whatever the hell you please with no regard to other traffic.. Not long ago I was holding short- as I noted someone on final approach- some douchebag behind me pulled up and immediately started screaming on chat- GO MAN GO. Less than 5 seconds later-- whooooshh.. other guy lands.. People cut you off while landing, while taking off.. landing against ILS, block taxiways. Just a minor sample of annoying lonewolf behavior. If there is insufficient staffing for ATC hopefully there are additional kick triggers such as "sitting on runway for more than 90 seconds" for example. Yes- I know that some of these airports are big- and taxiing back to the live runway to takeoff can take a few minutes. Maybe the ATC can make these determinations. If no one is nearby- then ATC can send you directly to the closest entrance. If it's busy- well sorry. That's reality. Get your gas & payload and start taxiing back. Not claiming miracle here. But why not dive in and see what it fixes, and what it breaks? Determine what the advantages & limitations are.
  17. Definitely. I had a bad time with the zoom view axis when I used an X45- axis unusable. Had to program bands w/ a large center deadzone to control that view.. Major migraine..
  18. Happened to me last night. No idea what happened. It didn't even correspond with a keypress.
  19. yeah I think only 1.0 had separate 27 / 29 symbology. Same slotback radar- different size antenna. Fixed in 1.01 patch, IIRC
  20. I could've sworn the nosewheel turned... but I could be wrong. I'm basically 100% online pilot. (no externals)
  21. YeahMon.
  22. Yeah- Increase the curve value. Move the slider to the right in increments until you find something you like. Keep in mind that different planes have different behavior in nosewheel steering. The curve you set for one plane is not neccessarily universal. Ex: The SU-33 has a zero turn radius, thus the rudder is very sensitive when compared to say-the SU25T. In case you don't know- under "options" controls tab select aircraft (must ALL be done individually) Under ALL tab select "axis commands" click on the specific axis under the controller ex: "rudder axis" under "control manager device" See the column w/ the device at the top? Select axis tune(bottom right) Adjust curve. Mines at +30 for this aircraft.
  23. I use a TiR5 and have not had any issues seeing around. Specifically in the Frog- I'd like it to zoom out a little bit farther at times-but nothing you could call a dealbreaker. Basically- my mirrors are partially off the screen. No biggie. In case it's related- I'll mention that during initial setup I noticed that my monitor aspect choices contained 16:10-- not what I expected to see-- 16:9. In case it matters.
  24. Prayers to you and your family. Forever in your debt.
  25. The order is always enroute, return, landing. If you're not sure- exit the mode (activate A2G) and then reactivate it.
