  1. one of the movies- not TV show.
  2. "Wind" is a figure of speech- refers to the spherical stream of radiation / particles emanating from our sun. Voyager is now measuring the speed of those particles as zero- which means they've come up against the stuff put off by other stars.. If voyager were to last long enough-- I guess it would eventually clock particles at increasing speeds again- but from a different aspect. i.e. getting closer to another star.. The article at least implies that Voyager can determine which way the wind is blowin'
  3. The Klingons will shoot it down.. I seen it.
  4. I am unable to enter certain values in this mission-- I was following the prompts for setting up profile for rockets RIP SGL- this OSB button worked fine, however when you are prompted to enter UFC button 3, then OSB 8 - no value is entered. The mission continues on as though you did- but no values were changed. Same on BDU 33 training sequences, and again when using LOC mode for powering on the Mavericks. Bearing and range values will not enter. I am following the prompts EXACTLY. Beta 3, 32bit (track ir) Also- FWIW that dude talks FAST. Too fast.
  5. beta 3 was totally unplayable for me with AI & Xfire on
  6. Well for reasons unknown- one of my video cards was screeching when came home this AM.. Fan had dropped, or sagged.. whatever. and was rubbing against the case of the card. Anyway- Took whole thing apart, and after an exhaustive but fruitless inspection -trying to locate a reason for the fan to have so much play on the shaft-- a little Dremel action, a little filing.. open up the hole a bit / create a little clearance.. bada bing! Quieter than new... But what would cause the fan to sag down? Everything seemed to be OK visibly. No missing retainer clips, etc.. The fan was just suddenly able to sag down and start dragging on the case..
  7. I don't know why they were ever put there in the first place..
  8. Yeah. Look I'm an American that flies The SU33 & t-frog almost exclusively. The modeled domination of the F15 isn't even CLOSE to the reality. It's way WAY undercooked. That said- If I'm going up against one in LOMAC- my experience and practiced skills within the confines of LOMAC are going to determine the winner a lot more than the the modeling. If I'm one on one against someone who : noob-- I win. has a clue-- I might win, he might get lucky with a spam-ram. is on my level or better-- I will usually lose unless I am able to acheive a significant tactical advantage early on. The guy who spams ARH's at TEWS hits? Yeah- that pisses me off too at times, but that's the way it is. That's why I try to be on comms with my squadron mates, and not fly alone. Many of these guys will tell you- a pair or team of SU33's can be pretty damn effective- a lot of it depends on numbers. If you are a lone F15- you got problems.. Bottom line- if you are looking for arcadey features or parameters to be set in the MP servers- you are almost completely alone. Join a squadron. Set up your own server. Set it up any way you like it, and see how many people fly in it. See what kind of problems come up as a result. If you aren't getting the kills you want or otherwise underperforming, the reasons are staring at you- in the mirror.
  9. Meet at a prearranged waypoint or communicate that WP as needed.. I'm SURE everyone's on comms, after all. ;)
  10. so you fly falcon, and you researched this exhaustively.. and you didn't know about the release button.. I need some aspirin.
  11. Other way around. TiR 5 is an all around improvement in resolution, clutter rejection, overall performance. I have the track clip pro- but I do not use it because my behind-the-head headphones/mic are not compatible. I'm sure it works better than the hat clip, but I would have preferred that it be wireless w/ a battery. Those 3 itty bitty LED's could not possibly consume much power. A decent LiO battery should last for many months if not over a year. In my specific case- the wire for the clip and the wire for my mic would go in 2 different directions. I was never able to get my mic to work in the back of my case. Don't know why. So it's plugged in out front. If your 2 wires connect at about the same place- you could easily braid them together I reckon.. I think it's worth it.
  12. I'll admit- I'm doing this under duress.. we'll see.
  13. I'm on facebook- still not 100% sure what I'm doing, but if you want to add me to yours: Brian McPhail brian_mcphail5918(at)yahoo(dot)com That email was created only for the purpose of joining facebook. Trying to keep spammers at bay until I figure out how to use FB and see what they do with my privacy. Don't use it.
  14. Hey My issue was a bookmark issue. I noted that the beta forum had once again disappeared when I clicked the icon on the bookmarks bar. My bookmark opens up to the list of "English Forum" lists- The beta forum is on the main forum list with all languages listed.
  15. I saw no button anywhere- verified email is the same. Username is different. Nevertheless- I have access- but it seems to intermittently drop off. I have to log off/on to see it again.
  16. Agreed- CH top quality if not a little bit homely compared to these upcoming Saiteks.
  17. That's the traditional layout, as there are several commands that are air or ground combat- specific. Air to Air Navigation/ground/takeoff/landing Air to ground (for some aircraft)
  18. Uh oh.. Didn't notice that was a different poster! sorry. Haven't been here in a while- I'm outta posting practice..
  19. Anyone have a picture of the box? There's someone in Ubi forums that SOUNDS like they ordered something that said "platinum" online- but his actual merchandise might not be.. I don't know what to tell him other than to post a picture of what he got, and to leave box sealed until we can determine what he has.
  20. This is a bit of guesswork- but my CH gear is identified as such in the LOMAC assignments menu. Yours just says "joystick HOTAS" and "throttle HOTAS". Are you positive you installed it correctly? Many years ago- Saitek SST used to ask you if you wanted to install or opt out of certain drivers in the installation process. If you skipped any of the drivers- the stick was not going to work correctly. If you just plug in a controller and let windows install its own drivers- that's unlikely to work. Other than that- it really sounds like you have a series of conflicts- 2 commands being sent to a stick button at the same time. I can tell you- what you want to do is assign ONLY the axis commands in LOMAC, DELETE ALL default commands mapped to the stick by LOMAC and program the rest of the buttons in the SST profiling software.
  21. LOL.. that's sweet.. Gas- I'm not enjoying myself at all either recently. None of my guys want to fly anymore. Very frustrating by itself, but especially aggravating to a 33 driver due to the aforementioned reasons among others.. You are not alone.
  22. Sounds interesting- but the rivatuner page says they don't support multi GPU.. Any thoughts on that?
  23. One way is for all pilots to be on comms, which will encourage a lot more teamwork in the servers. I experience a lot of this myself flying a 33 mostly. Very difficult to score BVR kills in that plane one on one. But- get even 2 of us working together? Look out. Bottom line is- if you can't get cover- why take that aircraft into territory where a fighter is looking for any opportune target? Not ideal for the fun factor (i want to fly now)- but this is the way it is..
  24. Code: sumbi**ch! :D
  25. Patience grasshoppah. Hold fire button down for about 1-2 seconds. (New modeling feature in FC2). I am ASSUMING you have checked and fixed any applicable key changes, and that if we're talking about the button on your stick- that it's programmed and working properly..
