  1. This is still fine as an option to have though, for us who don't have tactile detents in our throttles.
  2. I guess you (and ChatGPT) missed this part: AN 01-45HA-1, for the F4U-1D, shows Auto Lean for all but take-off.

    Mirror

That's their disabled state. Default keybinding to enable the mirrors is 'M' on the keyboard.
  4. Ahh okay thanks, I didn't know about that. Let's hope that's the case then!
  5. I hate nitpicking, because the map looks awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on it, but what about the massive landmass in the center of the Netherlands, which is supposed to be a lake (IJsselmeer)? I'd say that would be pretty important for visual navigation, especially when Soesterberg gets added in phase 3.
  6. Gets corrected, then disagrees.
  7. Just tried again - still broken.
  8. Misleading in more ways than one, seeing how the campaigns are listed under the "early access release" section, and not in the "additional features after EA release". I already mentioned this 6 months ago, yet it is still unchanged;
  9. Title is pretty self explanatory. Track file attached. FROG7_M04_Bug.trk
  10. Should still be a dirt strip at the time the map is set in (2008-2010)...
  11. Posting in general WW2 wishlist, as it affects most (if not all) warbirds. Controlling levers such as the prop speed lever with digital buttons is far too sensitive for precise control over your engine settings. Lowering the "gain" parameter as described here works really well: However, this fails the integrity check and gets overwritten with every update. It would be great to have this available in a file that is safe from the integrity check, or perhaps as a slider in Special Options.
  12. The below document has 2 kills with an F-4E by the 555 TFS on the 8th of July, 1972 and another one on the 16th of September that same year. https://media.defense.gov/2010/Sep/21/2001329821/-1/-1/0/AFD-100921-010.pdf
  13. That's not quite true. It was no longer a free-fire zone after the first wave, pilots needed visual ID before firing. All 3 kills by Rambler flight (the last group in) were with Sparrows.
  14. You've got your map upside down buddy
  15. The cold start version of the Operation Blind Whirlwind mission only has 50% internal fuel set, which leaves you with only 10000lbs total. The hot start version starts with full internal fuel and is fine.
  16. I didn't mean to claim that the presence of a SEAD package or a single HARM in the air would render a site completely useless. I only wanted to answer why you'd shoot an expensive missile if it's just going to miss. I might have oversimplified my answer.
  17. The presence of a SEAD package with HARMs means the SAM operator can't focus entirely (or at all) on engaging the strike package, and in those 10 seconds you mention, won't be able to shoot at the strike package at all. The SEAD package and the $360k missile will have done their job of suppressing the SAM.
  18. Aight, thanks for the answer. Even though it doesn't specifically mention them being finished, I think it's still kinda misleading seeing how the campaigns are mentioned under "Key Features of the Early Access Release"
  19. Are the campaigns already released with the map or will that come later in early access?
  20. Doesn't really matter. It's not 30k ft and it's not a video of a real (Canadian) Hornet, which is what @Jonnylap1's original claim is.
  21. Was definitely able to get the engine oil down below 50°C, though it takes a little while even with -12°C ambient and the nose into a 6kt wind. It was actually faster with the engine on than with it off, which is not what the 1943 manual suggests. Tracks attached. CoolingOilEngineOFF.trk CoolingOilEngineON.trk
  22. I haven't checked it yet, but I assume the first track in @Reflected's original post will show that behaviour.
  23. A track of what specifically?
  24. What manual is that from? (Edit: Nvm, found it) The first part seems odd to me, engine oil cooling down that much without any significant air going through the oil cooler because the aircraft is stationary with a running engine. Especially since you're supposed to heat it up to >40°C by running the engine at a lower RPM than the 1000-1200 range. Another manual I found states: "b. When a cold weather start is anticipated, before stopping the engine, hold the oil dilution switch in the "ON" position for a period of 4 minutes at 800 rpm. The dilution of the engine oil while the oil temperature is above 70°C is not effective. If oil dilution is to be accomplished and oil temperature is too high, stop the engine until it has cooled to 40 to 50°C, restart it and proceed with the oil dilution." Note that this doesn't state a maximum oil temperature for engine shutoff and it specifically tells you to turn the engine off if you want to cool it down to below 50°C. The second issue I can agree with, I've also never run into issues with high cylinder head temperatures. Don't think I've ever seen it over 230°C either.
  25. AGL. I typically use 1500 and it works quite well.
