The new patch owns frame rates. Facing trees I get 80fps and then swing around facing some area without trees in the huey and it's 35fps if I'm lucky. GPU utilization is 80-90% when facing trees and cpu is maybe 30%. Without trees it's 40% gpu utilization and 15% cpu and a big dive in fps. Before the patch I was a solid 60-90fps at all times. You guys broke something big here from a performance standpoint.

So nobody knows for sure where the throttle is supposed to be located in actuality? My guess is in shutoff like the 206 until 40% N1 and then throttle is opened. I got to say for $49.99 I am bummed by the amateurishness of this addon. Even the Dodo guys got it right in FSX of all things which has the worst flight modeling engine ever for rotorcraft. Come on DCS guys get your act together. Thinking about asking for a refund for this solely based on the amateurish startup modeling. If they flubbed it this bad on the most basic thing then how are we supposed to take anything else in this module as accurate? edit: clearly in that video the pilot runs the throttle up and down and then hits the detent and rolls the throttle to shutoff before starting and then clearly you hear the click as he engages fuel at some % of N1 which could be anywhere from 15-40%. It's pretty clear to me that the DCS Huey is nowhere near close to being a simulation and is somewhere between game and simlike. Gotta say I am disappointed with this. I'll be asking steam for a refund.

Hey all, just wondering what the REAL start procedure is for the real life Huey? The sim makes it look like the throttle is past idle in the minimum open position when starting. The Bell 206 requires that the throttle be closed 100% when the starter is activated and then twisted open to right past the detent when N1 is at 15% in order to start. Having the throttle open at minimum will result in a hot start in the 206 and I have to think that the Huey is the same? Or maybe not? Is this due to the way they modeled the starter/detent in the Huey or does the real life Huey require that the throttle be open at minimum when the starter is engaged? I would think that the throttle would be closed fully and then fuel opened to minimum at 40% N1 but the manual does not explain the correct position. Thanks!

I keep getting control locks many times after I trim where I lose complete systems controls and then crash. Something is seriously wrong with this game and the controls! Does trimming really cause complete system failure 50% of the time when you use it? Cyclic, pedals, collective nothing responds right after a trim. I trim and then return all inputs to center right away and then the bird just flips over and crashes while taking no input from me. This game has a big enough learning curve without the helo committing suicide on me for no reason after a trim. Any ideas?

Been a while since any news on these videos? What's the progress or has the whole thing been scrapped?

Can anyone tell me how to start a game with a cold dark cockpit where enemy helos aren't shooting me? I just bought this game and need to practice cold dark starts and practice flying around the airfield getting the hang of the bird without worrying about getting shot down. In realism mode as well, no game mode for me. Thank you very much!

So how does the real machine work? What if you have a real cyclic without a centering spring just like the real machine? I just bought the game yesterday and have yet to even do much with it other than test out my control config so I am not even sure how trim comes into it. It sounds to me like you lose control of the machine when you trim unless you center the stick? That doesn't make any sense to me...

This video was awesome. I just bought this game and am obviously overwhelmed with all that I need to learn and your video has at least allowed me to start the bird. I am a dodosim 206 only flight simmer who has hundreds of hours flying their addon so at least I know how to fly the ka-50 already which imo is half the battle. Now I just need to learn the systems. Consider me a buyer of all of them based on your startup video. Any ETA on these being available to the public?
