  1. Glad mine is coming in April now since it doesn't seem like the devs are that close to cv1 support from years of experience deciphering dev speak :). Maybe by the time mine comes some time in April they will be ready. I had thought DCS and rift support was already a done deal though so the news from wags that it's not has me perplexed. Was looking forward to some reviews this week for you guys who managed to get through oculus overloaded servers for a March delivery but not to be I'm guessing.
  2. Ahh would have gotten that if you'd said TW but never seen it abbreviated ATW before. Sorry...
  3. This bird and VR look like they were made for each other. With all that open glass I can't wait for my CV1 to arrive next month!
  4. I have to admit that I won't buy another module from these guys until they fix the issues with the Huey. Don't get me wrong I love the Huey but it is certainly not modeled correctly in many aspects from throttle at startup to EGT and I don't recall a Huey ever being able to do a loop which I was successfully able to do a few months ago . Still fun to fly and remains my favorite helicopter for DCS but still not realistic at all which to me was at first very disappointing and still remains a great letdown.
  5. I have all but given up on FSX myself after DCS. The dodo is just plain boring to fly after the Huey and the Mi-8 and with the Gazelle rumored to be very near release it's just not looking good for FSX for me. Flyinside is definitely on my list of things to try though in a high detail orbx area at least.
  6. Can someone explain how gauges are unreadable on a DK2 or CV1 with a resolution as high or higher than a 1080P monitor which has no problems showing clear gauges? Assuming no SDE is visible I don't see how the gauges would be unreadable at 2160x1200 when they are perfectly clear and readable at a much lower 1080P on my monitor.
  7. I got it running kinda sorta with cardboard and intugame but it was very very slow over 600mbit wifi. There was no way to tether it with USB in the Gear VR because when the phone is snapped into the Gear the USB plug is used by Gear and the plug on the bottom of the Gear is not a passthru to the phone which I thought it was so if you're using the Gear then you definitely need at least a 1200AC wifi. There's no stereoscopic 3D anyway and there was no head movement at all for me even with mouse movement clicked in DCS. Needless to say I never got it working and gave up after about an hour of messing with it.
  8. Oh I picked that up in this thread from someone else that said steam library games would work with steamvr installed. Perhaps he was confused too. So steam games won't work then unless the dev adds support like ED has?
  9. I gotta admit I would love to see Just Cause 3 in VR. Wingsuiting would be awesome in VR. :P This is making me want the vive now instead of the rift but I don't want to wait another 2 months for the vive. I'm not sure what other games will work with the rift unless the game dev adds support. The vive working with ALL games in your steam library is huge if true.
  10. Well my point was if I get 50fps now in the heaviest part of Vegas with mostly max settings and the rift has less than HALF the pixel requirements that my surround setup has then it stands to reason that 50fps should easily be 75fps with the rift. Throw in timewarp optimizations and I have very high hopes that a 980ti will easily power through anything a Rift will ask of it. A 970 and I would have some concerns but a 980ti will chew through a Rift assuming the devs do a remotely adequate job of supporting it. The only variable there is imo is with nvidia's lousy driver support...
  11. 980ti works great for me in surround pushing 6.2 million pixels. All my settings are pretty well maxed with 50-100fps depending on location. Heart of Vegas never drops below 50fps for me. I don't think the rift will come anywhere close to that many pixels so it should run great.
  12. No update for me yet. Odd.
  13. There is no way a rift will be pushing as many pixels as I am now in surround. Even in 3D surround I get 40fps and 3d surround is wayyyyy beyond anything a rift would demand. I'm fairly confident a 980ti will slay a rift compared to what I'm asking of it now.
  14. Good luck getting a pascal in June is all I can say. Most likely they paper launch in June and won't be for sale until July and even then with the demand good luck finding one easily in stock before September. And this is all assuming they even launch in June as some have speculated. I'm sitting just fine with my 980ti now and it runs all my games in surround with max settings at 40-90fps depending on game. Tomb Raider is the lowest performing game and it runs between 35-60fps depending on scene with all settings at maximum. The rift will not be as demanding as my current surround setup in DCS and I am getting a solid 50-60fps with max settings now in the heart of Vegas so I'm sure the 980ti will be just fine for the lower rez of the rift. A 980ti now should not be wasted cash particularly when realistically you are minimum 7+ months wait for an in stock pascal.
  15. Nice! Where do you get those landing pads?
  16. How do you get any of this to work. The minute i put it in the gear vr it launches the oculus home and the intugame disappears. I tried trinusvr with the cardboard and as soon as the phone goes in it disconnects. There's something in the cardboard which senses the phone and constantly disconnects it.
  17. I mounted a 8x15" piece of plywood to the bottom of my swivel chair with 6 screws to mount my OE-XAM collective. Works great for me until I pickup the Volairsim cockpit that was willed to me. And congrats on that collective. I'm jealous! My Bell 206 replica rocks too though but Komodo is in a league of its own.
  18. First thing a company does when they are having trouble is cut support out. I guess it was clear based on the experiences from others in this thread that this company was struggling to keep its head above water for a while. It's pretty bad when they won't even replace minor parts for products that they make or at the very least allow the customer to purchase them and ship them on their dime. I would be perfectly willing to buy the springs myself but they said they can't do that. No spare parts supply chain for their products most likely indicating financial issues..
  19. And you guys can thank me for that one. I'm the one who first brought that bug to their attention the day they released the new version of their software! I was trying to figure out Why my mem speeds were gimped until by accident I closed out TIR and noticed the speed jump up. Mike ordered a 980ti to test the issue for me but never got back to me letting me know they tracked the bug down and I've been running with NI P2 state upping my memory speed since then. He could have at least let me know that he found the bug and thanked me for telling them about it...
  20. No clue where to find such an outfit that can do that and the price for it would probably be $100 or more where I live and not worth it. I inherited the controls and some other simming gear from my late Father and thought it would be easier to get Saitek to send me some replacements than driving 4 hours back up to my Mom's to tear apart the house looking for the box that it came in (assuming I can even find it) which is probably where the other springs are. I'll look for them end of the month when I go up there to visit her. Nothing is ever easy these days...
  21. I love the X-55 I just inherited. Only problem is that it only came with the green spring which I think is the stiffest one. I need the least stiff spring for the Huey. Right now I'm running without a spring but the stick flops everywhere and you can't take your hand off of it for a second or you will get a mast strike. I emailed Saitek but they told me they don't sell replacements and without a receipt of purchase then they don't honor warranty replacements...
  22. Ack why is the L39 never on sale!
  23. My updater doesn't see 2.0.1 and isn't downloading anything. Is it out yet?
  24. Absolutely LOVE my X55 without spring as it seems so much smoother but unfortunately you can't take your hand off the stick or you will get a mast strike because the stick will flop down quick in whatever direction it's leaning. I just can't justify a C-tek or Komodo with dampeners though so will either have to deal with it or reinstall the green spring again. It would be nice to have some kind of dampener on this stick though.
