I got it! User error. I set the pilot skill level to excellent thinking it was asking ME what kind of skill level I had. Switched it to player and left it at parking/hot and she was fired up and ready with guns working. Thanks mate! I need to spend time with the editor but gaming time is so few and precious to me that I just want to fly!

Thank you Razor! I tried that miz file but the huey is cold and dark and I want it to be already started so I\m not wasting time starting it all the time. I played around and found the helicopter group with the huey and changed it to excellent pilot and parking/hot so it would be started but when I save the miz file the huey group is no longer listed as aircraft to choose from. Any ideas?

Can someone tell me how to generate a mission in NTTR with the Huey or how to modify the only instant action mission there is so that there are some weapons on the Huey? I call for a rearm and a refuel in the instant action and nothing ever happens. Generating any kind of mission puts me outside any aircraft looking around Nellis with no Huey to be found anywhere! I just want to be able to start a session at mccarran with the huey started and with weapons ready but can't seem to be able to figure out how to do it! Thanks all :)

Mine works fine so it's not with 2.0 at least if that helps you any. Recheck your binds and check that the force trim switch on the console is enabled..

[NO BUG] No North Las Vegas Airport?
j0nx replied to alfredo_laredo's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
I haven't had a chance to explore that part of town yet but am bummed there's no Henderson. I figured for sure it would be there... -
Nice thanks mate. I still have 17gb to go...
-
Also let me know if 2.0 runs better in sli if you can. I'm pretty happy with the performance of the 980ti in 3D surround but still baffled at why the performance is 3x less compared to regular surround. Never seen that kind of performance hit before in 3D surround in any other game. Usually fps are cut in half at the absolute worst and usually not even that much...

Everyone is concentrating on grabbing 2.0 Dave! :)

Granted the system is old but a 6700K isn't THAT much faster than a 2600K overclocked. 15% maybe. There just hasn't been that much advancement in desktop systems in the past 5 years. Upgrading is in the works before the end of the year but I don't suspect that it will add that much benefit in performance.

Thanks Atalia but none that I can see that pertain to win10 and multi gpu? The last bios released like 3 years ago well before win10 is the one I have been running since then. Like I said before, all other games run as they should.

980ti runs DCS at 31-40fps in 3d surround with max settings at 5760x1080 2xAA. The 970's ran it at around 19-24fps at same. The 980ti is faster in some games and slower in others. In benchmarks it's about 10% slower than the 970's. Unfortunately I got a dud of a card because it barely overclocks at all and is unstable at anything greater than +50 core. Was hoping to get 1500mhz but am barely able to run 1400mhz. I'm not even sure it's 100% stable at +50 to be honest with you as I'm getting some random game crashes that I never got before even though Heaven is stable at that o/c. Going to keep my eye on this thing close for the next 3 or 4 weeks before the return window closes. At least it runs DCS pretty darn good compared to the 970's. Definitely not going to be selling the 970's any time soon though until this 980ti proves itself stable.

Latest drivers, system is ultra stable and passes all burn tests with no issues after 4 years. All other games run perfect and the fps I get in games like BF4, Tomb Raider etc are all where they should be with this hardware. DCS runs perfect in regular surround but terribly only in 3D surround. It's literally the only game that I have problems with and only in 3D. The 980ti arrived yesterday but I haven't had any time to mess with it yet. Probably tonight after the festivities If I am not too tired. At some point in the next 3 or 4 months I'll be upgrading to a 6700K setup but just the thought of redoing my entire PC with what little time I have makes me cringe so I keep putting it off.

Dave, SLI is supposedly working in DCS on my rig but it does nothing. Afterburner shows that both of my cards are at 99% utilization but there is ZERO increase in FPS when tested with one or two cards but a terrible hitching with 2 cards in 3d surround. Regular surround works amazing for me but 3d surround is a lost cause in this game for some reason. It cuts my fps by 4 as soon as it is enabled when it's only supposed to cut it by 2 at most. I have a 980ti coming today to test. If I like it then I am going to replace my 970's with it and sell them. Beginning to see too many little issues with SLI and with VR on the horizon I know nvidia is not up to getting SLI and VR working smoothly together.
-
Anywhere from 10-20fps with hitching at 5760x1080 with high/ultra settings and 2xAA in 3d surround. Unplayable with the hitch. Looks amazing but is totally unplayable like this on 2 cards. GPUs were about 50% utilized on that mission.

You need to alt-enter to make 3d work in 1.5 since it starts in windowed mode. If you are running 3d surround then prepare for a gigantic hit to fps. Single monitor 3d runs fine though.

Huey controls suddnely have become jittery / lock-up
j0nx replied to DSPALLASVI's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I would test these controls in another game like FSX or something to see if they behave the same there as they do in DCS. That way you can rule out an issue with the hardware or DCS. If the controls misbehave in another game then it sounds to me like there might be a problem with the USB controller box on those c-tek controls since all controls are having issues and all of them plug into that one USB controller box. Try plugging the USB controller box to a different USB port on your pc too. First rule of thumb of troubleshooting is to isolate failure to hardware or software. -
I installed my old 760's and reran the same tests with the same results. One card yields the same fps as two cards but there is a terrible hitching with two cards in 3d surround. There was also not that great of a fps increase from the 760 to the 970. In 3d surround with a single 760 I got 13fps at 5760x1080 with all settings on high/ultra and with 2x AA. With a 970 I got 19fps. Same fps with 2 cards but terrible hitching making it unplayable. SLI simply does not work in this game and in fact greatly hinders performance. What's weird is that the cards are saying they are loaded out at 99% each but there is no increase in fps. I'm not understanding how your 980's are getting high fps in 3d surround because something with this engine kills fps when 3d is enabled. I get massive fps in regular surround with smooth play but as soon as I enable 3d the fps is cut by over 4x. I've never seen any other game do that. Most games only suffer a 50% cut in fps when 3d is enabled and some not even that much. Even if I do replace my 970's with a 980ti then I'm not expecting more than 25fps in 3d surround based on the difference I see between a 760 and a 970. Smoothness will be greatly increased no doubt but fps probably not. My rig is very fast too so there are no bottlenecks there. This behavior is also the same in Windows 7 or Windows 10 so nothing is wrong with my OS.

Seeing the same thing here. Way better performance with one card than two. Both cards show at 99% utilization but frame rates are the same or even a bit worse with 2 cards than they are with one. Lots of microstutter in 3d surround with 2 cards too and with one there is none. Thinking of ditching my 970s for a 980ti. Getting sick of SLI issues... Edit: installed my old 760's and they too show 99% gpu utilization amongst both cards but frame rates are the same with one card in 3d surround or two and terrible hitching only with 2 cards. Man you guys got to fix this!!!
-
Well the adapter works ok and I removed one 970 and I get the exact same fps with one card in 3d surround as I do with two cards. There is 17fps with no hitch whatsoever with the single card in 3d surround. With sli enabled there is a terrible hitching and 17fps. MSI afterburner says that both cards are loaded at 99% in the on screen display but the fps is the same on one card or on two?? SLI is definitely not working right. What kind of cards and computer are you running neph?

I ordered a DVI to DP active 3D adapter lastnight that I am going to test with one of my 970's to hopefully do 3D surround on a single card and bypass SLI. If the performance is better in 3D surround on a single card then I know the issue is with the SLI/3D profile and I am going to sell my 970's and buy a 980ti instead. Been having a lot of SLI issues lately that I have never had in the past 8 years of running SLI and making me want to go with a single card solution instead. Very weird how that happens...
-
Tried all manner of nvidia profiles laastnight and I still can't get better than 16fps in 3d surround. The blurring effect in 3D at 1920 is caused when SLI is enabled. If I disable SLI then enable 3D it runs great and the 3D effect is smooth. Strangely enough in 3D surround the weird blurring effect is not present but the performance is terrible with a lot of hitching. There is a serious issue with SLI and 3D in this engine I think. I'm starting to wonder if the 980ti and the dvi to dp adapter might have been the smarter move for me instead of these 970's...

I don't see how it's possible that you get that kind of frame rate in 3d surround. Just so we are clear, your setup is stereoscopic 3d across THREE monitors in surround right? My rig is high end and there is not a single modern game that will run at more than 50-60fps for me in 3d surround. In surround yeah but 3d surround? Nope. Anyway doesn't matter what the settings are set to in DCS, the hitching for me in 3d is terrible. Just enabling 3d in the NVCP starts DCS with 35 fps and that's without 3d being enabled. Once enabled it drops to 17fps. Basically I get half the fps I normally get in surround by having the 3d box in the NVCP checked and then another half the fps when I actually ctrl-t to enable 3d. It's not supposed to do that. It also does it in both my win7 and win10 installs using any of the past 2 latest nvidia drivers. Just as a test I set my rez to 1920 and enabled 3d and the performance is great but something is terribly wrong with the convergence or something. Every time I scroll across the screen there is some kind of blurring effect while scrolling when 3d is enabled which puts terrible strain on my eyes. This game is just broken in 3d imo, at least for me.
-
Surround works amazing with a solid 80fps. 3D surround performs terribly. Are you guys sure you understand the distinction? I lowered all settings to low and changed rez to a non native surround rez of 4092xsomething or other and the fps was way better but the stutters were still really bad. Disabling 3d surround by ctrl-t and frame rates are great again and stutter is gone. Something is terribly wrong in 1.5 for 3D surround. Either a nvidia 3D profile or something with the game's engine.
-
3d surround displays correctly for me once I set the convergence but the performance and stuttering are terrible. No issues at all with 1.2. Very weird because regular surround runs incredible at native surround rez but 3d surround is like 1/4 of the framerate with terrible stutter. I lowered the rez to the lowest surround rez with all settings on low and the frame rate is good but the stuttering is still terrible. No idea if this is a nvidia profile issue or a game engine issue? Very annoying as the huey in 3d surround is the only way to fly.
-
In 1.2 I get a solid 35fps in 3D surround. With 1.5 I am lucky to get 15 fps. If anything it should be muich better. I'm getting 80fps in regular surround but then when I enable 3D vision in the NVCP and start DCS I get 30fps before I alt-tab to enable 3d and then it drops to 15fps. Somehow DCS is cutting the fps in half and then by half again when I enable 3D. Would really love to fly the huey in 3d surround again.
