  1. Fair enough, my apologies. I'm in agreement here!
  2. After I posted, I was musing to myself that I too would be upset about any munition at all being used in my backyard, seems like you beat me to that point! I'd be a little more upset if it was DU, but only if I was alive to fuss about it in a few years. I wasn't trying to get you to jump on the bandwagon. It's just frustrating to see people demand iron-clad studies when none are going to come out until any consequences have either happened or not. To draw a somewhat unfair comparison, the same need for studies was present when we used defoliant agents in Vietnam. (Please please nobody start a flamewar over this reference, pointing out why it may or may not apply is fine, but I'm really not trying to start a discussion about this relatively ancient topic). That all said, I don't really have a better suggestion aside from "wait for iron-clad studies." Obviously the military isn't going to stop using the stuff just because it 'might' be harmful. It's designed to kill people. (Edit) Oh, I do have a suggestion, don't use it until it's been studied. I'm not normally a fan of that approach since you can never prove something is harmless.... and we are dealing with a weapon here. But it's still an option.
  3. Even then I've never heard of an uncommanded hard right roll on takeoff in any jet in FC2, and I've crashed a LOT ;-) Bird strikes usually flame out the engine and tweak your thrust, but not enough to roll you into the ground. Every time I roll on takeoff and crash, it's because I'm not actually pulling the stick straight back, but off to the side. Either that, or I have a trim tab set accidentally to max, and that rolls me into the ground.
  4. I had to laugh a little when I read this thread. I understand how studies are required and how anecdotal evidence is not proof, but GGTharos, you're asking for the impossible. There isn't a long-term epidemiological study being done anywhere that looks at DU effects from before and after the war, and that's the only type of evidence you will accept. Not to mention doing such a study in Fallujah would be ... difficult to say the least. I can't IMAGINE the military helping such a study. I have a feeling you'd be a LOT more upset if these DU munitions were being fired in your backyard.
  5. That's also a really useful piece of information to have. It'll help in casual conversion of missions. I would have been scratching my head! Thank you very much for taking the time to figure that out, EtherealN!
  6. I had the same problem with integrity checks on a server (and custom su25t loadouts). It only went away when I put the original files back in the folder AND took out the renamed changed files. I think it checks to make sure there are only the required files and no more. If you leave the changed files in the directory with a modified name, (so it's easy to change back) it'll fail the check.
  7. Buddha, bind your Shkval keys close to each other, for me it's a simple thumb move to zoom, lock on terrain, etc. Essentially I zoom the instant the Shkval is turned on, in one smooth motion. Also, try setting up longer attack runs. If you're feeling pressed for time, slow down and start further away. :) I think the technical issues here are formidable - I would be very surprised and impressed with ED if they came up with a 'magic bullet'. This is more of a hardware limitation - twice as much to render when the camera's on.
  8. Thanks for the info, a lot of people are very interested in multi monitor setups.
  9. The stick works fine for me, I haven't had any problems like Mikey is reporting.
  10. The docs are included in the downloaded program. Are you sure you installed the official installation program from the website or torrent?
  11. Heyyy, finally a use for the dual trigger on the G940. I'd been wondering why the heck it had one. Eddie, thanks for the info!
  12. I have been waiting forever for Nvidia to come up with an alternative to ATI's Eyefinity. This is good news, more competition will hopefully spur further development!
  13. Choose either Joy X or Joy Y in the G940 Throttle category to assign the collective. Doesn't matter which. I also replied to your other post.
  14. Any of the throttle axis (plural... axii? axises?) work for the collective, and in fact should be bound by default if I recall. Just move the throttle a lot when trying to bind it to the collective, it should pop up one of the two throttle axises.
  15. This is a good idea since I love the A-10 campaign, and I also like the SU-25T as a plane :)
  16. That is one agile turret! No wonder they keep toasting us when we fly in close & low.
  17. Mikey, I might be misunderstanding you, but I think the center does 'move up' with the trimmed position. If you trim and then pull back slightly from the trimmed position, your nose should indeed rise.
  18. I'd agree, there's much more commonality between aircraft than differences. So far, I can fly all ground attack aircraft plus the F15 using HOTAS and a MFP. The biggest differences offhand are radar + targeting, and they often use the same key. Turning on Radar & ETS is the same key (ETS in the Su-25)... Turning on the Shkval TV in the su-25 is the same key as CCRP release mode for the a-10. Similarities like that make it much easier to set up a HOTAS. I have to say THANK YOU to ED for making the aircraft key commands work across multiple aircraft! If you started making multiple profiles for aircraft, you should just do the configurations in game.
  19. If no lights show up on the camera (the TIR 'device'), and the software's not seeing it, and it's not in the proper category in Device Manager.... I'd say the camera's dead. If the infrared emitters in the TIR clip are still working, and it sounds like they are, all you'd need to do is buy a new camera.
  20. I set the FC2 profile as a global persistent profile in Options - Global Profiler Settings. It's a bit of a hack but works fine. Obviously have to switch between BS and FC2, but I haven't set up BS yet.
  21. The G940 works fine for FC2, for me. Although, I'm curious if it handles the autopilot differently from other sticks. It's a decent stick, any 'issues' with it usually center around force feedback & trim... haven't run into issues in FC2 yet. I set up my commands in the profiling software, so that I can change things in one location rather than in 7 different aircraft. I'd go CRAZY trying to keep things consistent in the in-game software. One of the ED guys suggests keeping it in-game, but I can't see how that's practical for me.
  22. Is that a troll I smell? Why yes, it is!
  23. I have to say the solution EvilBivol suggests works for me, and is quick to do.
  24. It also tells the program to start in "C:\Games\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2" I suspect that it won't know where to find data files unless it's run 'from' that location
  25. Kankkis, have you tried enabled the centering spring for FFB games in the configuration menus? Maybe that'll help. Logitech says the games aren't sending appropriate information to the controller, who knows... I just enabled the centering spring myself to test it out, and it's still a bit loose in the center. I don't think it'll help you. I personally don't really see it as a problem since I turn on the autopilot when I've got my hands off the stick. It flies just fine on autopilot and also when I'm actively flying. However, that's just my opinion!
