Someone who tested it ? =P

Is there a way to deavtivate it ? Really annoying to reset with NumEnter everytime.

What about pipper fine tuning and the flight tutorial says something about using the ruder in turns.
-
I finally finished my flight seat and used the pedals for the first time. I'm not able to make precise adjustments with them unless I set the curvature to 50. Are the pedals meant to be so rough ? I want to make small aiming adjustments or taxi turns and end up doing 45° turns. What are your settings ? In which situations a real pilot would use rudder input ? greetz Migo

What settings, voltage, cooler do you use ? Don't be afraid of overclocking, you really can't damage anything if you're not acting totally stupid. Also you can't damage your graphics card by overclocking your cpu or changing bios settings. The only way to damage your graphics card is by raising the amount of voltage on the card like crazy. I overclocked tons of cpus and as long as the temperature doesn't exceed 75°C or the vcore is higher then 1.5V you're fine. Even if the cpu reaches 100°C once it won't be damaged unless it runs a few hours with that temperature. greetz Migo

Usually it's easy to clock an i7 to 3.8Ghz air cooled and 4-4.2Ghz water cooled. As long as your temperature doesn't reach 75°C it's all good.

Placed my order today. I hope it will arrive in Germany soon :)

TM Warthog removeable metal plate (throttle)
Migo posted a topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm going to mount the Warthog throttle on an office-chair but because it's weight is about 3kg I want to know if the metal plate at the bottom is easily removeable. I know that SimHQ removed the plate to take a look inside Anyone who already removed that plate ? Will the screws still fit perfectly or will they be too long ? greetings Migo -
The countermeasures-traning never continues after turning to "WP 3 Range" at 8000ft/280 :( I'm using the Beta 3 missions. Are these training missions better/newer ?

real HD black shark cockpit....
Migo replied to RICARDO's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I think it's perfect :) -
There are no Dual-Channel or Triple-Channel RAM-modules. You just have to use modules that will be able to run with the same frequency and timings. You should rather overclock your CPU. 3.8/4Ghz would give you a 50% performance boost. It's easy and you would have to make major mistakes to damage any hardware.

I used the stick and it's the best for Black Shark. I think it's pretty easy to get the shark stable because of it's nice force feedback. What about lowering the sensitivity ?
-
I don't think it works anymore since patch 1.0.2

real HD black shark cockpit....

I can't find words for that ! Just phenomenal work ! -
You think so ? They would have to redo the whole engine to make it utilize more than 2 cores.

I finally got A10 today and immediately started benchmarking. The GPU has no impact on the FPS at all. My HD5850 is used 30-50%. I remember someone saying his GTX480 is used 100% by DCS A10, that can't be true if my HD5850 doesn't has 50% load with 16xQ TSAA/16xAF at 1920*1080. The settings with an impact on performance are water, visib range and civ traffic. The other settings didn't have any impact on performance for me. I wonder why the fps dropped so much in comparison to Black Shark. With nothing going on in front of me I always got 80-200fps, in A10 the fps are around 40-50fps maximum. At accelerated startup procedure training the fps were really going down for me when looking to the right direction and because I know my CPU is bad ass, I wonder how your performance is in that situation. I get around 9fps with Visib Range set to "high" 13fps on "medium" and 28fps on "low". Do you think the performance will improve when this module will be officially released ? Sry for my bad english- Greetz, Migo

No, the Ram isn't even fully used by DCS. Like I said it's the cpu, that's why performance increases so much when overclocking it. But you have to understand that cpu and gpu are two separate processing units who are utilized different by the programs. Lets say my system is a computer with E8400 + HD3870. The bottleneck in Crysis will be the gpu because Crysis eats all the gpu performance and in DCS the cpu is the bottleneck because it utilizes the cpu a lot more than the gpu. greetz Migo

Ok I can only speak as far as Black Shark. Overclocking my CPU from 2.67Ghz to 4Ghz (50%) raises my FPS from 37 to 53 (+42%). But changing graphics card from GTX280 to HD5870 gave me no fps increase at all. Maybe A10C utilizes the GPU better.

That's wrong mate. That list is like "what someone who never owned a PC should buy". There is no such thing like secret "balance" or that a cpu has to fit a gpu. Everything depends on the programs and how they utilize the components. DCS needs a high clocked CPU, the graphics card does only matter if your card is garbage, meaning older then 4 years. If you got an half-decent graphics card the CPU will be the bottleneck. No need for SLI or Crossfire at all in this SIM ! It's funny reading all the post from people who think a new GTX460 will improve their performance in DCS. I say it again, in this sim cpu is much more important than graphics card. greetz Migo

Yeah and don't be afraid of overclocking, it is really easy today especially with i5/i7. To turn 2.67Ghz into 4.2Ghz is just awesome. The card gives you much performance for a good price. The HD6870 is faster than the HD5850, a little bit slower then the HD5870 and costs the same as the HD5850. If you're not on budget I would wait a month, AMD will release the new HD69xx in november and they will kick ass. greetz Migo

Did they optimize the engine with A10C so much ? Black Shark is only about cpu-power. My 4ghz and even 4.3Ghz i7 is bottleneck while the GPU remains at 30% load. Without 8xFSAA it will be around 15-20% load. DCS is all about clockrate. I recommend getting an Intel LGA 1156 mobo and an i5 750 /i7 860 quad core cpu because you can easily overclock them to 4Ghz and a lot of new games utilize 4 cores. If you only want best performance in DCS an i5 661 Dualcore is the best chioce because they will clock up to 4.5Ghz with no problems. HD5770 is a good choice and 4GB DDR3 is enough Ram. greetz Migo

Oh boy that sucks ^^
-
I tried these but the stick is still very very sloppy at the center.

You want to purchase a graphics card ? CPU is limiting the performance guys. 4 year old cards can show DCS with max settings and 8AA/16AF. You should rather OC your CPU to >4Ghz which is easy with an E8400/E8500. And no need for crossfire at all ! Again, you need a higher clocked CPU. I have a HD5850@HD5870 but I get the same performance with a 8800gt or even a HD3870. greetz Migo

Thanks for trying to help me. Updating the firmware did the trick. Works pretty good now.
