The english page of lockon.ru shows FC as "unofficial add-on".

Strange to see the Aim-120C when that model was delivered in fiscal year 96?! Realism? Hodgepodge! Btw how do the SU-25T and KH-50 fit to that timeframe?

Downloading now. Can you please correct the clickable link? It says "http://www.pwnedcomputers.net/share/Videos/Demons.wmv joystick" (i.e. joystick smilie concatenated).

This "feature" is still awaiting the Oscar for the most ugly thing implemented in a (flight-)sim EVER. It is - IMHO - so braindead that i would like to meet the designer IRL to ask him what he thought back then when he came up with that bright idea :noexpression: On the other hand it tells big on the developer's idea about 'gameplay'. Sterile athmosphere, spare comms, bla bla hubba bubba - all discussed for years - without improvement. Back then a newcomer on Frugal's was asking what is so great about this 'dynamic campaign' in Falcon, and the answer that told all about it was "It feels alive" - and i thought, hwg, really, that's it. Sad to say my squadron put so many hopes in this sim and it failed so bad; few other squads have adapted - or should i say 'lost hope' - and we see these threads despite one addon and a few patches. But there are these wonderful screenshots and you can always promote the sequel. And not to forget: it's always the next sim! Just make sure you're not getting too old for this sh!t

I Ask you all with a heavy heart :( help me

Shutting/disabling one core is not needed. What procaff does is to bind the Lomac application to exactly one core and the scheduler (the OS part that says what is going to run on which core) will let run LO on that core ONLY. The nice effect of this is that you still have a second core to run your teamspeak (and other applications) parallel to LO. What you have to do is to tell HL to start Lomac with procaff, i.e. you have to edit the HL start string for LO. HL's man page tells how to do that: http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=1 It's number 7, so the startup command reads like: E:\Storage\Asus\procaff\procaff.exe /run 1 "D:\Programme\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\lockon.exe" Path- and foldernames depending on installation, of course. -

The procaff program shouldn't be needed any longer. AMD released a cpu driver to fix the 'timing' problem: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=81429 Installed it and no procaff needed. -
If you host your missions on a second computer, you move from single to MP. That means all your missions must have "client" as flyable and not "player" with the consequence that you have to edit all missions.

Dual Core CPU's? Still a problem w/ LockOn?

Compliant with a 50% increase in FPS, for you the picture again: http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/showpost.php?p=1179752&postcount=6 Not that bad for "no benefit" :D -

Well, i said Falcon AF (Allied Force) and despite the age of the code base i would say it's modern - enough differences to the original Falcon 4.0 from 1998. And if you think that Lomac is modern i'm appalled by the fact that it doesn't support multiple cores/cpu. Maybe it's because of the Flanker code base? And that for a sim that comes along so cpu hungry - oh really, a modern design. Hwg, the mission concept (player/client etc) didn't change :D -

Have you been so enthused that you missed the radio calls from your wingmen? I fly single player if i want to relax and be on my own, but not if i want to push adrenalin.
-
Hwg, you might think about your signature to give it a positive twist.
-
If you need so many words to "defend" this sim it speeks for itself.
-
IMHO it should have been better from the beginning. It has it's roots in the Flanker series so one could expect more (remember the hype?). I'm flying Lomac online sice 1.00 and it was a REAL MESS, awful, lousy and more or less not worth my money. And with each patch (and addon) they've fixed/fiddled this and that: the missiles, flight models, radar and always said it was about "realism". Look and the sim today and tell me that the planes are simulated accurately - i just can't believe it.
-
Lomac is - well - dead. We will get Black Shark, Tank Killers and maybe an F-16 sim. We have to live with this and what ED is doing or find something that "meet our claims". If you don't like it, don't buy the sequel, fly IL2 and F4:AF. I don't see the AFM for the planes we fly and there will be no dynamic campaign (Ruggbutt, hop in to tell about LMR :) ) ED has it's own idea of a sim, immersion and gameplay - and it doesn't seem to fit to what's out there (F/A-18, IL2, Falcon). Take it, or leave it. I've almost lost hope for this product and what bothers me the most is this "Oh, wait for bla bla bla sim/version/patch/sequel/next year/whatever". I'm sick of it and i live with it since Flanker 2.51 and it's famous "internal error". They can't do it and they won't till they proove otherwise. But the graphics are great.

Disappointed by the multiplayer experience
Floyd replied to gundelgauk's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Well, that doesn't matter. Inflight comms are usually short and straight to the manneuver. Pilots come from many countries, so don't be shy  During all the years i'm playing online i've NEVER heard pilots making jokes about other pilot's language skills. Buy a headset ASAP and be part of the really exciting little world of online flying. -

If you fly 1 vs 2 (or more) you'll be toasted, unless the pilots are unexperienced and fight the system/controls and not the bandit. It gets worse if they are on comms and to top that they may be squadmates and trained. Sometimes it's better to run and come back when chances are better. -

Some time ago was a thread about this wonderful ACMI tool. The servers usually have LUA export off to deny easy cheating, but if you record your flight, watch it later (to generate the ACMI file), you can analyze your flight and see where you did wrong. The tool's name is "Tacview - Universal Flight Analysis Tool" and you can download there (must register first): http://www.lockonfiles.com -

Actually, what did you expect? As Pilotasso said, don't think it's as easy as vs the AI, human players are evil, tricky, fight grimly and keep shooting at you even if their plane is on fire. But therefore it's fun. Let me say it this way - if you come back the next day, you've learned the first lesson. Don't give up, never fly alone, join the server's teamspeak and team up with other players and you'll have a lot of fun, trust me  -
If you start the uninstaller, a window comes up asking you what you wanna do. If you click "No" you go back to 1.1
-
I've flown on your server, great ping and smooth play. But you should really switch off LUA export to prevent evident cheating.

The start of a revolution for LOMAC??

Where's choice there is misery. -
Ok, after reading all postings i'm willing to accept the F-22 as the super duper fighter. But what do you wanna do with it? Defend your homeland? He he, it was never attacked by hostile fighters. So what do you need the plane for? China, Russia, North Korea? Don't forget you'll need an airbase for your littl' toy. Air domination - great concept, but where do you want to attack next? I know discussing this will lead to politics what is not allowed here, but to debate on 29 pages w/o strategic background is just a waste of time IMHO.

On the first page of the mission builder is the start time top right. Set the time to something like 20:00:00 (default is 09:00:00) and all flights you'll create will have their TOTs according to that.
