  1. Ok, somehow more civilized ;) What is so complicated and outdated? Graphics? Aionics? Campaign? Missiles? Gameplay? Anything i've missed? Immersion, Multi Player, Buttons in the pit or what? Have you ever thought what all these buttons and knobs are about in your SU-27, Mig-29 or F-15 pit?
  2. And your new, up to date DX8 hokey pokey wannabe sim doesn't get the missiles right. Have you any clue about good coffee coasters or any substantial arguments?
  3. And before someone thinks he's a quitter - i can tell you i wouldn't fly versus my squad mates on the other team. If you fly together for ages you're familiar on comms, know the tactics and so on - the leaders won't have a chance. That's what training is about, or not?
  4. Hwg, let me guess - you feel warm and cosy with LOMAC - each to his own. What is so complicated and outdated in your opinion? I'm just curious ...
  5. Hm, are you "=EF=Frostie" on the 504 stats? Looks like you prefer Russian equipment: Air Kills (156), by weapon Weapon Count AIM-120C 3 AIM-7M 3 R-27ER 28 R-27ET 9 R-27R 3 R-73 34 R-77 74 cannon 2 Nice ;) Never thought the 120 is that bad.
  6. Well, it was you to say the missiles suck, i was just drawing my conclusions from this (assuming you are right). Radar and missiles seem to be quite important for a 'modern combat sim', so devs better come up with a decent model. And with Lomac beeing a sequel to the Flanker series they had time enough - IMHO. But i really don't want to argue about it and live with the fact that radar, missiles and other import things change with every patch - more or less.
  7. Oh, after all the patches and the addon the missiles suck. So one better rename 'LockOn: Modern Air Combat' to 'LockOn: Mostly Arcade Cramp'. Who said missiles are somehow important in a flight sim? But the graphics are great!
  8. No chance. These people usually aren't a member of a squad, have dynamic IPs and can change their callsign at will.
  9. Hi, read there: http://www.verbalass.com/dedmac/
  10. You have to live with it. This concept is the same as in the old Flanker series. I will never understand how some developer could come up with something like that.
  11. Hm, and what are the chances to see anything become implemented? And in which sim? 1.2? Tank killers? F-16 sim in 2010? Geeze, you can discuss in thin air all night long, but you can't give any reasonable perspective - not your fault, of course. There won't be a DC (like Falcon) for Lomac, the engine can't handle it. I can't imagine a mission based DC, the next patch will break it. Will there be enhancements to the mission editor? Naah, 1.2 will be released soon (within a few months), so ED can tell us about it. Or 'Tank killers', the sequel, might have all these great enhancements and new features ... but i will believe it when i can play it ... as Stormin said: No promises ;)
  12. I'll suggest you ask ED; they had a programmer coding a DC for LockOn. They should have the concept in the bottom drawer, or not?
  13. I'm surprised that so many still support an enhanced mission editor - despite the fact that every patch released makes missions 'incompatible' (more or less). The BSO 'desaster' is the best example: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=14488 All the fancy graphics, zillions of rendered polygons per second cannot hide the lack of gameplay in this sim. I don't have the time to spend hours and hours designing missions, but i have the hardware to run a mission generator or dynamic campaign or whatever. Falcon has it's DC (real time), IL2 a campaign (mission based) - they have their drawbacks, but they exist. Oh, i still like Lockon, but i play it online exclusively - the offline environment is too sterile and 'lifeless'. But the series will end with 1.2 and all after that is nebulous.
  14. Changing the date (2 weeks or 1 year) didn't do anything. Game still starting ( w/o StarForce window ).
  15. Do you mean your key didn't work from the beginning or only after the weekly check disc procedure? If i start the game now i don't see any disc activity ...
  16. Now, that was VERY fast. Not only that ED's support replied to my mail within a few hours :icon_syda - I'd sent the mail with an error report to SF and got a reply 15 minutes later :icon_excl The mail included some sort of license(?) string i had to type in when SF window prompted me. Game started and runs now okie dokie with or w/o disc inserted. You can generate the error report when you press the disc eject button while the program hangs. SF will show some sort of 'info' button, click that and select 'show error report'. An editor window will show up with all info. Send that to support@star-force.com, including a short problem description. I will not post the string here because i have no permission to do so and i think it's coded for my disc anyway.
  17. Try to disable HT in your BIOS and try again. Maybe that helps? I've sent an error report to StarForce today - let's wait.
  18. 'procaff' is a utility that 'binds' the program/process to one of the cores. Some programs have problems with CPU caches if they 'bounce' from core to core (stuttering): http://www.stefan-kuhr.de/procaff/main.php3
  19. Dual core 4400+ Tried with and w/o 'procaff' utility, doesn't matter.
  20. His error message occured after 30 minutes, so there is obviously something wrong with the SF stuff (i gave up after 2 minutes). IIRC all players reporting here can run 1.12 just fine and our CD/DVD-roms did'nt break the same time. To put it simple: SF after the 1.12a patch is too stupid to read the disk.
