This event may be repeated prior to the remainder of the Open Workshops; that being 2 - Naviagtion and 3 - Engagement. What: An Open workshop for Brand-New KA-50 Pilots of ED's fantastic BS2. This is bottom line 'Must know' instruction for Flight Skills. Semantics and theories can go take a run. Won't: Manual startups or intimate cockpit switches and settings (understanding is a pre-requisite), Intimate HOTAS setup's, ABRIS or Engagement using any weapons (Workshops 2 and 3), Hardware fault finding, assistance in finetuning graphics settings or changes of Graphics or Options .lua files, Mission Editor or .Lua scripting. Format: Flight Skills to include: Hovering - Rolling Take Off - Landing at FARPS, Airfields, Ships and Oil Platforms - Hovering (Man & Auto) - Use of the collective break - Slewing - Funneling - Hammerhead - Tilts - High G turns. All culminating in a mass 'Fly-in' course that will push your new flight skills to the limit! Timeframe: 2-3 hours. Committment please. If you sign up, you sign up for the full Workshop, that way i can guarantee continuity of your learning curve. Dissapearing after an hour will get you barred from future Workshops. I am committing to you, reciprocation is only fair. When: 06th Jan 2012 @ 2000 hrs - UK Time / GMT. Where: LYNX - 74th vfs 'The Flying Tigers' Dedi server. Who: 74th_Tyger will be instructing. This event is open to any member of the 74th or the wider DCS Community. How: Sign up by replying to http://www.74thvirtual.co.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=3317 and then be on our Teamspeak server at 1945 hrs in the channel named 'BS2 Open Workshop' - first come first served! Any takers above the 15 slots may watch and listen. Bottom Line: If you are new to BS2 or the KA-50, then this workshop is for you. If you have some experience with BS1 but haven't flow for a while, then pop along too. If you are intermmediate or usefull in the pit, this is not for you, move along, - "these are not the droids your'e looking for!". If continuity throughout the full expanse of the KA-50 is what you're after also, then why not plugin to this first Open Workshop. The remainder will essentially build upon skills taught in previous Workshops, This one, being the first! Cost: Don't be daft! Make a donation on our site if you want to. KWxzKHThcZU

A good place to research A/G threats?
Heli Shed replied to aces_full85's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Guys, The reason why i said no at the time was that i was smack bang in the middle of sorting out our millions of documents at the time. There were all in one area of the site that also incorporated our own SOP's / SOI's. As you can see from 74th_Lunatic's post, I have now created a seperate Doc pack area for all members of the DCS community who frequent our site or who 'pop along'. Please also note, that appropriate credit is given to authors who are outside of my influence as a member of the 74th. These authors have been approached by me for permission to use their documents in this public way. There are more documents being added over the next couple of weeks, but to be frank, of every 10 i see, 1 is worth keeping and not blatant plageurism (or however you spell it) from some others hard work, with no mention of credit. I have been a victim of that on many levels, from basic missions, videos and documents, to a complete 'Training Academy' whilst flying as a Flight Instructor with the 104th. I've been about a bit fellas, and I have always done what is right for the majority in this VERY small community of ours. I hope the 'majority' of you know that. To the remainder.......................................... 'T' -

I'm gonna trump you HJ. One mission, one aircraft on the runway, DCS A-10C patch 1.1.1.1. Clearly, there's something not quite right. Agreed GG and surely having a partnership with TFC has had some influence? Bearing in mind where most of the //cough 'money' comes from? Ahh...............'The Horseman', for sure, i think have had a major impact. They certainly did at RAF Duxford that day......... We wait to see, but i`m willing to wager a little! :music_whistling:

"Perspective" - A view from Boss's Cockpit (New VBA Vid)
Heli Shed replied to VBARhino's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Wonderfull! thank you Rhino. 'T' -
Ours is fine mate, although to be fair you could remove the FC2. FC3 / DCS Fighter 'may' be an option for us but currently not on our roadmap. I also recommend that perhaps for the European listings, that the country is placed after the vfs name? Europe is a big place! In which case, we are a UK Based vfs. Thanks, Gr8 work btw on the new look. Regards 'T'

I'm not suggesting to do that yet until some others have replied. Hold out, it'll get fixed fear not. Then come back and enjoy yaself. Regards 'T' -
What is Best Size for Pictures Used in Briefing?
Heli Shed replied to enigma6584's topic in User Created Missions General
Apart from a large mission file and therfore the 'time' it takes for it to be downloaded to the client (almost negligeable imho, we are not on 28.8k USR's), is there a main reason to keep the mission file small eddie? Is there an 'ideal' mission size range? 'T' -
Interesting. as ever, thanks. 'T'

If you are stationary yeah, but otherwise you'll get picked up like everyone else. no?

Great initiative! Perhaps drop on to my TS to discuss. 'T'

This highly adaptable, well motivated and extremely well equipped enemy, is made up solely of Ex Professional Russian Forces led by Lt General Sergey Ivanov; an exiled Russian General by the Russian Government, post Invasion in 2009. ******************************************* SITUATION ******************************************* President Klitshtov of GEORGIA was assinated on the 28th January 2011 by the Infamous 'Hammer Force'. They paraded his body, and hung it from street lamps. An Operation was mounted swiftly to dent Hammer Force and retrieve the body; OP SWITCHBLADE. Now, almost a year later, in some form of sick re-visit, 'Hammer Force' have recently took the dead Presidents children hostage, killing their bodyguards in the process and wounding their mother, Georgia's First Lady. International outcry and condemnation is rife, but ultimately the eyes of the world are on the BLUEFOR coalition currently in theatre after the failure to comply with UN Resolution 6532, to retrieve the children and severely reduce Hammer Forces's Comabt Effectiveness, by kinetic strike force operations. This Mission is to be called: 'OP SWITCHBLADE 2' The children are currently being held in the same vehicle that still has their fathers stench inside. The infamous 'Blue' truck of death, is in ZUGDIDI Square where 'Hammer Force' have a temporary FOB. Throughout the past year 'Hammer Force' have significantly bolstered their forces along the ZUGDIDI coridoor and so you should expect stiff resistance! ******************************************* THREAT ******************************************* The Threat posed by 'HAMMER FORCE' is significant. Manpower = 5000+ and well equipped with SAM viarants, AAA and 5th Generation MBT's with ARV's and IFV's used mainly as Ground Domination and Surge operations. Coalition J2 suggests that they have recently accepted 5 defectors; all Russian AH Pilots. ******************************************* MISSION ******************************************* To Provide CAS to a British Armd Inf Patrol, by clearing the route of advance into ZUGDIDI, by destroying overt 'HAMMER FORCE' elements at key locations, 'SO THAT' the Patrol meets limited resistance, 'IN ORDER' for a ground presence in ZUGDIDI for Special Forces to insert via Heli (PONTIAC), and retrieve the children of body of the late President Klitshtov. ******************************************* COMMUNICATIONS ******************************************* Main Frequencies: FMB Claw / Kutaisi ATC - 134 Mhz AM Alt Airfield / Senaki ATC - 132 Mhz AM Coalition Movement Net - 124 Mhz AM A10C Callsigns: 74th Member Slots - HAWG 11 to 71 Guests Cold Start Slots - BOAR 11 to 61 Guests Warm Start Slots - PIG 11 to 51 KA50 Callsigns: All Slots - ENFIELD 11 - 81 AI Callsigns (Movement Net): Georgian A10C 'Warthog' - TUSK 11 to 14 F/A-18C 'Hornet' - COLT 11 and COLT 21 F15C 'Strike Eagle' - FORD 11 C130 'Hercules' - SPRINGFIELD 11 and 12 CH53 'Jolly Green Giant' - DODGE 11 AH64D 'Apache' - DODGE 21 UH60 'Blackhawk' - CHEVY 11 AH-1W 'Cobra' - UZI 11 and 21 CH47 'Chinook' - PONTIAC 21 ******************************************* BLUEFOR SPECIFIC MISSION - A-10C's ******************************************* This will be a 4 Phase Operation: Phase 1 - Rendez-Vous with British Armoured Infantry Patrol - BLUE smoke denotes Friendly Forces. When FC3 is released, the 'true' CAP and Interdiction type operations will be crucial to support A2G efforts on this mission: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=83397 By virtue of the fact that this is a 'fun' and 'stable' mission, I will be ensuring that when FC3 does get released, that those who fly Fast Air will be able to enjoy this mission too. Ultimately, no air superiority (against an enemy that has the capability) means limited options in ground warfare. Essentially in modern doctrine, out goes the big 'green machine' and more covert espionage type operations take place, namely SF. Enjoy. 'T'

or simply allow 'all' to be viewed in F10 view by the mission designer???

Nice ED, thanks.

Have 'key' small groups that are the activator in line with the mission briefing, and the rest as large randomised groups. Makes things look and feel a lot more dynamic

:megalol: no for the KA50, but the collision model is missing. Apart from that, it looks fantastic!

I just think this carrier modle is fantastic TC, Well done ole boy. ............................now......any chance of DCS compatability? //clasps hands, looks up, preys and paypal's a whole shedload of money!

:music_whistling: er...no it isn't. If you had multiple bases it would be: "all of your bases, belong to us". or "all of your bases, are belonging to us". or "all of thy bases, doth belong to thee" or ....... Merry Christmas.

Just took this 2 mins ago. why not pop on the 74th? There is ALWAYS a fair few about, so clearly the 74th was not part of your eval. 7 active members, 3 Candidates and another application yesterday, Quality and not quantity is the name of the game for us. Our server LYNX is open to all the community, they just have to be on TS to use it. A while ago this was a debate of contention, I can tell you know after a year of running it like this, that i'd never go back! Public channels for TS / vfs's.? Absolutely not. I'm a WC of the 74th vfs for a reason. Far from micro management, I like to have the ultimate power with regards to TS, it's layout, who has access, who gets kicked and for what reasons. I like to create channels, move channels and ultimately remain dynamic. Your concept cannot give me all of this with the right security and ultimately why would any WC of a vfs rely upon anyone outside of their vfs? One golden rule in this vfs hobby of ours is that no one, and i mean no one, is indespensable. Thanks for your consideration, but your concept is flawed from the outset. IMHO, you are trying to stir a pot of **** that doesn't exist. ED doesn't need to 'bounce back' from anything, they doing pretty well i can tell you. Mate, bottom line? It's 'effin Christmas! most of us are over 40 with fluffy families and blonde haired kids that demand attention, too much of our money, and cuddles at this time of year! Bah......humbug! time to do the family thing! Regards 'T' PS, on Sunday night at 1930 we had 18 on our Teamspeak. We all flew, we laughed and we all had a jolly good time! Thanks ED. 'boing'!
