edited: I disagree with this concept

In the British Army Females are not allowed to be part of 'Teeth Arms' that is to say a Combat Unit. By virtue of the fact that a JTAC (FAC in old money) is a Cat 3 soldier, it is unlikely that you will come accross a female JTAC. Having completed a total of '4' tours, lets just say, 'in the sand', I have never come accross a female JTAC. I am also JTAC qualified. Ironically, I have requested and gotten ECAS form 2 Apache's and one of the pilots was our infamous 'Angel of Death'. Now she......................................................rocks! 'T' edit: To add, I'm not saying that some of our fine Women colleagues are not, nor have been , or are likely to 'not' get caught up in contact. They are, have and will do. Most of them Medic's & Logisitcs (we have sadley had some horrific injuries and deaths ie AGC and Psyops - I have soldiers of my own at Headley Court right now). Irrelevant of cap badge they are an inspiration to all and I have personally fought along side a female medic whilst our PB was attacked. Moral of the story? Irrelevant of whether 'red tape' says that women can join the Combat element of the British Armed Forces (Infantry, HCav, Cav and SF, etc) or not, they have proven themselves above and beyond that which is required by their own specific combat speciality (CS or CSS lines), by their service and support at 'every' level, currently on operations. After 24 years service in the Infantry, a WO1 (RSM) that has been selected for Comission to Captain, I say that if they can do and pass the training to the same standards as men, are physically fit and mentally robust enough, let them have a shot. The old addage of a soldier not wanting to fight alongside a woman and would feel more protective and compromise himself and that of his team, is sheer drivel!

ahhhhhhh...................but for how much longer????

for us - 11. i like the standard vfs skin TBH
-
In the 74th, full members have their own skins. However, we are changing our Skins system so that our candidates and members of the community have a standard European skin, whilst members of the 74th adopt a customised and personalised European skin rather than the 'blurb' grey one. This is currently an ongoing project and is not expected to be implemented until our current 3 candidates are fully winged. 2-3 weeks max for all, to complete what is left for each of the flight school. In short, we have skins, personalised and they are currently under review. We don't have a standard 74th skin, although this too is currently under review. With this in mind, we would be happy (for now at least) to adopt a standard Hawgsmoke skin that was not personalised, but definitely unique to each vfs. If your in the same vfs, 'one skin fits all' is a great option for now. This also allows each VFS the opportunity to extend as much as they wish 'to the right', before going firm on individual pilots that will be representative in the competition. 'T' PS: What airfield is that? i like the taxilines.

hmmmmm........i hope i haven't got the wrong end of the stick here with regards to the SOP's. I am Military of 24 yrs service and I know you are too eddie and i`m fairly confident that so is Paul, so we should know EXACTLY (and more than most) what SOP's actually are, but to be frank i dont want to adopt any other vfs's SOP's. What and how i do business in the 74th, to be frank is no-one's business except members of the 74th. Not every vfs is like that, fairplay, but, we are. Now, if we are talking about SOI's and not SOP's, then ok. these are essentially JUST the rules and methods of adoption to comply with the rules, in which case if this competition is what i think it is (having had a fairly in depth convo with paul the other night on TS, i'm confident i know exactly) the SOI's should be no longer than a few pages. Slightly concerned. Lets not get bogged down in red tape at this stage. friendly advice, take it or leave it. 'T'

If i understand it correctly, will there not be just one pilot flying at any one time? if this is the case then why the need for multiple sources? We'll chat later as arranged, but my sincere advice is to have single source from proven hardware. It is not the channel that is important ironically, but the hardware and the configuration of all the software to ensure that what is being 'streamed' is HD abnd HQ. not that easy to do to be frank. I also think that the stream/s should be taken áway'from livestream via custom popout pages. This reduces overall bandwidth overheads for those viewing due to negating a million and one things happening in the background from the livestream channel, ie rotation of videos, advertisements etc. As i said, we'll talk later. We don't need to do it from the server mate. i can do it as a spectator. We'll chat offline. tonight on my TS perhaps? 'T'
-
livestream is an option most certainly. If paul would like to utilise the 74th's proven livestream capability for the event, we would certainly like to help. Let us know. Regards 'T'

not yet announced. Lets wait and see. check back often is my advice. 'T'

Paul, you know i was being flippant and that was obvious by the rest of the post. I really dont think it was worth giving a troll a excuse to make my blood boil, (he never fails) by quoting it. As i said, you have our full support. Regards 'T'
-
It might have been an idea to have a good grasp of what you wanted to run and exactly how you wanted to run it 'before' advertising? I'm being flippant. It'll be fine. You have all of our support. Now get back to work..............................
-
Great initiative as discussed. The full support of the 74th both in participation and resources is offered. Look forward to it. Regards 'T'

Hmmmmmm....... Our server has different settings completely and we haven't seen a problem such as the one you are mentioning. Pause is fine, rotate mission is fine and even mission voting (when we had more than one mission running, currently they are ALL being 'upgraded' to 1.1.1.1, as is usually the case after every patch) However, general mp stability to be frank, is shocking. World.dll, effects.dll the normal culprits. But, thats the price we pay. Shame it HAS to be compromised this way. If anyone wants to compare serverconfig.lua files and try to tie down other misnomers and mismatches of apparent crashes caused by servman whilst panzer is away, let me know and we'll set something up, but definitely off here. I suggest that we re-visit this thread when and if, we have found out for sure what the problems are. Feel free to pm me to arrange via TS and file browser system. 'T'

Livestream feasible for vfs's? Help us find out please.
Heli Shed replied to Heli Shed's topic in Community News
Procaster works perfectly well with DCS titles. I therfore expect it to be your system Doom i`m afraid. Personally, XSplit for me is well above and beyond that of Procaster. It is in competition only by virtue that it does the same thing. Procaster however is Livestreams own product and 'de-tuned taboot! XSplit is not. 'T' -
DID should have carried it on TBH. It was well before it's time.
