  1. +1 absolutely right
  2. thats it! I'm off to bath myself in Lime! 'T'
  3. +1 In essence not far from the DPE concept that i have been working on for 6 months. It will be on our server soon. Guess what? You'll have to register on the website to see the brief and slots available, then actually get into the Teamspeak channel for the password to join the server. I have moderators that monitor the server constantly for those that are not willing to follow 'the plan', or who want to take off from taxiways, or do low flights over their mates popping flares while they spool. 24hrs, every day different, slots available for those who wanna fly alone. I'm off for a beer - EDForums take it's toll on my patience with some.
  4. Completely wrong interpretation. If your on TS, you've read the brief, and you ask to come in - come on in. Otherwise, go find an open server and take out an A-10A or BS from 20km away in an F15 or the like, at 20000 ft, with an Aim-120 just as they take off. - ridiculous air 2 Ground fest that happens on almost all 'open' servers where the participants are not 'bound' by certain regulations. My main reason for the closed server is not plageurism, but it was a reason and has been, seeing as it was my campaign mission that had been realeased. It has nothing to do with 'elitism' and everything to do with ensuring that my missions (for your information there are PLENTY out there) when they are released, are playable, stable and enjoyable. Get off your high horse and understand that actually the main reason why most are having closed servers is simply because they havn't mastered the A-10C model yet. Guess what? No-one has.................................................................................BECAUSE WE ARE IN BETA!
  5. Get a grip of yaself and stop whining. My server is closed because i am testing and testing to ensure I release something stable. Incase you have forgotten, guess what? we are in Beta! Every Beta version i have had to re-evaluate the mission concept or something in the mission design to make it compatible for 'now' - ie the current beta build. When i did open the server to the public, it was then, now listen carefully, 're-served' by two other 'private servers'. the mission itself was essentially in Beta by virtue of the fact that A-10C is beta. I asked the fixed slots (6 only) not to re-serve. I asked them this when they cam on the server. I havn't got a problem with reverse engineering, hell crack on! we've all done it for the good and benefit of learning more with regards to the ME and the condition and action sets. I'm in complete agreement with Moa. It is my right to decide whether i serve closed or open. If you don't like it or think it's bad for the community, i couldn't really give a damn. The people i fly with i know. The people i fly with are also in my TS channel. The people i fly with follow procedures and sets of SOP's. When you've done and committed yourself as much as i, moa and many others have in this community, for the community, Then feel free to pass judgement, i may even listen. until then............................well you get the idea!:music_whistling:
  6. Well, i`ll be honest with you and tell you why for me, Plageurism! I served Op Albas v1.2 (now 1.6) which i test and test and test again every beta change because i want a challenging, fun and realistic mission to be able to be served to the 74th community on DAY ONE of retail launch. I served it to the general community on Beta 3. The next day there were TWO servers that were serving it. With permission fine, but just going ahead and doing it anyway, with no respect to the mission designers hours and hours of ME work, is in my opinion, down right out of order and has no place in this community. There are some fantastic mission designers out there. We have seen them in action for the DCS BS when it first came out (Dragon for example) and they have designed missions for the community - awesome. There will always be a place for these talented people. But, there are some of us who keep close to our chests, the concept and success of specific missions and 'don't' want them served generally to the public by other people. in essence, we want it to have our signature and therfore the right for our server only to serve it. nothing wrong with that. That is why our server is locked down and will remain locked down unless otherwise notified. 'T'
  7. Hey Austin. Good luck with wherever and whatever you do mate. It was a pleasure to fly with you in the 104th, certainly all the time i was with them. I'm sure you will always be made welcome on their forums, TS and of course on their server as undoubtedly you are on any other Sqn's, including of course, my own. Be a lonewolf for a while and enjoy the stick time you do get. Good luck again ole pal. 'T'
  8. We'll talk. End the post please m8.
  9. Yep, a Great event. Congrats to Manawar and Crunch for outstanding organisation and planning. The execution was a standard that should be met by all events and Sqn's. I'm proud to have foundations that are 104th, this event re-emphasised to me just how proud I am of that. Well done guys, Well done! 'T'
  10. Hi all, Havn't come accross this one before and I have been asked to help. Anyone got any ideas? It was directly after a brand new install.
  11. Outlaw - You're back? Pop along for some home grown action ole boy! 'T'
  12. Man up! :joystick: ;-) 'T'
  13. Cali, You are quite simply ruthless...........................i like it! +1 Ricardo, so sorry ole boy. Chin up, the community is behind you. Good luck 'T'
  14. er.....................no it's not. it's now 'shelved'. 'T'
  15. er...................no it won't. The KA-50 is an 80's Combat attack Helicopter. The first and only one (AFAIK) that was a single seater. 4 eyes are better than two. FLIR is better than TV Optic. ECM is better than no ECM. Mixed CM ports are better than none. Hence the KA-52. You will not see any of that which you seek, not in this lifetime. 'T'
  16. Who said this was an absolute beginner sim? This is an AHFM (Advanced High Fidelity Flight Model) and if you think you will be able to jump in and blow stuff up, zip back to base for tea, cake and medals (all in 5 minutes), forget it. Thats called HAWKX, Commanche 4 or Apache Assault. Many people said the same thing about the BlackShark when it came out. cries of 'its too hard'.....'how do you fly it'...........demands of 'someone PLEASE help me', all were highlighting the AHFM concept of the first sim EVER to accurately replicate the aerodynamic characteristics of a specific Combat Aircraft. It aint easy - simple. (or not as the case may be). Am i saying that the 'noob' is unable to fly AHFM concept sim's? absolutely not. I left the simming world after EF2000 and came back to BS. Started from the ground up, learned the hard way, learned a bit more, joined a great squad (the 104th), learned a little more and then created the 104th's BlackShark Training Academy (yes it was and still is, 'elitist', but each to his own) and became their Chief Flight Instructor and later one of their Sqn Leaders. The point is, that it takes time to become profficient in any AHFM conceptualised sim such as the BS or A-10C. Not only Time, but regular time in the cockpit, physically flying it under different payloads and weight levels. Understanding how she reacts when you push her to a certain parameter, will all add to your learning. Also with time comes Patience. A lot of people have forgotten that this is a major key attribute that we all need and have needed in abundance, when we first start out in AHFM concept sims. Again, good luck. 'T'
  17. It all depends in what you want from 'tutorials'. If you want to become an expert simmer at the end of it, that has a complete understanding of flight dynamics and intimate knowledge of the internal wiring of the cockpit and know EVERYTHING about EVERY system in the cockpit, then go read the Manual........a thousand times..........put it down, have coffee and then read it again.............another 1000 times. If however, like most, you want to be 'profficient' in the cockpit and 'Flying', 'Navigating' and 'Fighting', then as Fred has said, scour the forums and embrace what those members have done for their peer community. Videos and documentation. Watch and read them all, evaluate in your opinion, select and remember those that deserve a re-visit from you. ED has already stipulated that they will no longer produce Producers notes but they WILL incorporate some interactive tutorials with the final release, as we have seen in these Beta series. Ultimately, you'll learn everything you 'NEED' to know by following this basic advice and then actually 'FLYING' with real people in a real online squad. Get some airtime, dont be afraid to ask questions, and frequent different servers for different mission types. Then when you've done all that, sit down and make an encyclopedia about it all. Good luck. 'T'
  18. Yeah, hi buddy. Didn't even knew you boys were about! :music_whistling: Have replied to your message on the site and registered on yours and left a forum post. It's all for the good of the community - More Sqn's = more actvity. Stay in touch - S! 'T'
  19. Sorry to take this off subject, i`ll be quick. +1 The RL 'other sid'e of my soon to be launched NEW Virtual Fighter Squadron. Thanks for your service ole boy. Thanks. 'T'
