  1. Much appreciated.
  2. Great insight. Very interesting. Thanks.
  3. Makes sense.
  4. Yeah, I know but why? Is there a specific reason for that?
  5. As the title says and I apologise for what I know sounds like a bone question but I would like to know why that data is in one of the mfds in a lot of F/A-18 videos I see? My first guess is in those videos they are simply training and do not need all 3 msd's at hand and just fill it with that for redundancy reasons? I know it is available in other aircraft. It just seems to be used a lot in the Hornet.
  6. My pc and man cave are in my attic. It gets warm up here. I have a massive fan blowing on me when I'm using VR. It's sooo nice when flying. It stops the headgear from steaming up too.
  7. These videos have been an endless help to me learning this magnificent sim. I'm not one for getting my head stuck into a manual (although I do love a good manual....hypocrite) so thank you so much for taking the time to make these. Great help.
  8. I got this 6 switch rotary usb box from desktopaviator.com many moons ago. It works great for all my sim stuff. DCS, P3D etc. Radio tuning is a breeze with the Huey for example.
  9. Ah, ok no problem. I did have some luck with some third party software to emulate the keys but this all seemed like to much hassle. It's not a problem. I fly this in VR and use the mouse to rotate the switches. Just would have been nice to use the switches I have. Having far too much fun with this incredible sim to worry about these little details anyway. Maybe something for the future. Thanks for all the replies. Cheers!!

  11. Hi. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to make the rotary switches in the cockpit such as the master mode rotary to work as an axis? I have a rotary switch box. It has 6 rotary switches and works fine in other DCS modules. I want to use this in the Viggen but in the control panel, it won't give me the option to use it in this way. I hope that makes sense?
  12. Just on the off chance, you might read this. Did you get it working I have rotary switches I want to assign to certain functions such as the master mode switch?
  13. Some light reading to see me through.
  14. I recently switched to the labels mod as suggested. I think it's really good. Strikes a balance between not feeling like a cheat and having a bit of situational awareness. Great for dogfighting etc.
  15. A lot of airline aircraft have a similar setup. If they use a hud like the Dash 8 Q400. Usually, 2 ball shaped things.
  16. Ah, ok cheers.
  17. He he!
  18. In case anyone is interested this is what I was talking about.
  19. Ah, many thanks, mvsgas. Saved me uploading images etc. Much appreciated. Makes sense.
  20. Ok, stand by.
  21. Hi, everyone. Can anyone tell me what the cross with a circle around it is on the hud frame? It's on the right-hand side. To me, it looks like something you align with the dot on the other side to get seat height adjustment for your own eye height. Been meaning to ask this for ages and just got around to it. Keeps me awake at night :) Cheers.
  22. As others have said VR really is in its infancy at the moment. I remember when Track IR first came out on the simulation scene and people saying that it will never take off......;) I'm not comparing the two technologies just saying these things can take time. However, I think VR is the biggest and best leap for flight simulation that we have seen and in the future (I wish it would come sooner) it will be the normal standard for the majority.
  23. Brilliant many thanks
  24. Yep really good. Many thanks for taking the time to do this. Really helps out. After a long break from this great sim it's so nice to have this sort of thing helping me out. Cheers.
