  1. YES!!!... With a Canberra / B-57 to go with it and maybe a Buccaneer for naval ops.
  2. Great Idea MBot. If I may I have a suggestion based on the last 2 images of the ATO post. It would be a good idea I think to have the routine plot the lowest angular change exit from the target. For example in the second to last image the ingress route( to target) seems pretty good with that 80 degree route. However the egress route from target looks like it would be better coming off at say 135 degrees heading between the southern and eastern most air defence units. Mainly it requires a less extreme turn over the heads of the AD. In the last image it would seem to me that a roughly 270 heading would be a better exit from the target area. The sharp angle may be OK if the aircraft has stand off weaponry but for a bombing run over the target I would think a shallower angle would be better. Just my opinion though.
  3. I tend to base things on how long it would take to work to pay for them. Even working behind the bar i can make $25 per hour. So if a module costs $50 its only equivalent to working 2 hours. Therefore if I get at least 2 hrs use or enjoyment out of it then its break-even. If you play with it for longer than that its all bonus hours.
  4. I'm pretty sure a good mission designer could enforce ROE's. Force Loss of mission if areas not on the ROE are bombed etc. I think it would be nice to see a level of discipline required to succeed. Of course it would all be moot without some form of Automated GCI for both sides.
  5. When will those of us who bought the A-10 in beta get our license?.
  6. Checked before I asked the question ;)
  7. If we are this close to release when are we going to see the NTTR in our profiles (For those of us who bought the A-10c while it was a beta).
  8. Really I don't see the fascination with the viggen. Its not ugly or anything. But it is a very niche Swedish aircraft with no service record worth talking about. No one else in the world has ever used it and its never been outside of Sweden.
  9. Don't know where you are getting that last nugget from. Just gotten through reading, Pak six - Gene Bessel, When thunder rolled & Palace Cobra - Ed Rasimus , A tale of 2 bridges - Major A. J. C. Lavalle and currently reading Going Downtown - Jack Broughton. There are plenty of examples in all of those with Mig-17s engaging F-105's. It seems like the NV tactic was to get the 17 up high, dive through a formation with guns blazing then hightail it to the ground and head home.
  10. because we need strike aircraft!.
  11. Saw one of these at an Airshow when i was a kid, Fairey Rotodyne. Just remember it being incredibly noisy.
  12. This is precisely what I wanted to be able to do. I've been playing around making a Mig-21 patrol mission and I would love to have civilian aircraft for the immersion.
  13. Only one I'm aware of is the AN-26 (I think it is) what others are there?. I really mean though a basic 747 and an airbus etc. The big thing though is also the need for a 3rd (neutral) party to augment red and blue.
  14. I'm sure this has been asked for before but i think this game desperately needs Civilian aircraft and a civilian (neutral) side. This would mainly be for window dressing. I just think it would add to the atmosphere tremendously. Plus with the scripting talent around here I'm sure someone could link in game Air traffic to the Flightradar24 website.
  15. Relative to what? Oh der!!... I get it!.
  16. you can do it in the Mig-21
  17. What is the outer numerical scale on the NPP for?. In the Documentation p. 101 it is Item 1 on the picture. There does not seem to be any related text. On a related note I don't like the way this is presented in the manual. IMO if you are going to put a numbered picture then you should have a numbered list next to it or following it which describes the item.
  18. I agree I think this hype and secrecy is pointless. Its not like this is national security. Just tell us what they are and if they interest us we'll buy them. I can't help feel this build up and anticipation are going to be counter productive when everyone is annoyed that it isn't the aircraft they want.
  19. F-111 is bigger than the F-14.... Its an Aardvark!!!.
  20. I would love the A-6. That's the sort of strike aircraft we need.
  21. When you get around to fixing the flaps keys for the Mig-21 could we please get 3 position support for the TM Warthog. As there are only 3 positions for the flap "buttons" in the sim this would be ideal. I notice this works on the Hawk as well as the A-10 so it should be possible.
  22. Apart from the WW2 stuff. Well they do fit into the other part of my argument of widely used by numerous nations. And could conceivably be in the theater we have or those that we know are coming (IE Nevada and Straits or Hormuz). 14000lbs is less than half of the F-111 payload of 31000lb.
  23. Well I feel that's more of a Kludge strike aircraft, with a none too staggering payload due to carrier ops. I'm talking about something more F-111, F4, F-105 ish. Well maybe the F-4 and f-105 aren't good examples as they were also kludged fighters.
  24. One thing to consider in this whole debate, I believe, is this. A sensible developer, especially at this point in their career, would develop an aircraft with the widest appeal and usage possible. For example a lot of people here think that a Viggen is likely. To me the issue there is that, to the best of my knowledge, the Viggen was never sold to anyone else and has not seen deployment outside of Sweden. Thus it would seem an incongruous choice given the theaters we have or know about. Maybe this will be more likely if we get a Swedish / Finish map with a cold war theme. I think it would be a better choice to go for an aircraft which is operated by a lot of countries and has seen deployment, or at least could feasible see employment, in the theaters we have. My own personal wish would be for some form of dedicated strike aircraft with a decent loadout and a decent range. We have lots of CAS type aircraft but not one single Strike aircraft (flyable).
  25. There are a number of keys such as flaps, target size etc which i would like to map to the HOTAS. They are however unavailable to edit. Why is that?.
