I think having a second shortcut is easier myself.

Thank you!!!

Hi, I'm running DCS in VR. I am however finding that CA is broken in VR and the Mission editor is too hard to use. Is there a way to launch DCS in non VR without constantly changing settings?.
-
In what way is it unplayable in VR?. I've been having a blast with it in VR
-
Well isn't that nice for you... Well some of us are not getting those transfer rates. I am now well over 30 hours for 10gb of a 35gb download. This is not acceptable.
-
Me too... it's really frustrating. 30 hrs downloading for 9.5gb

Are you sure the MFD was SOI?
-
It's a DCS issue in general not a JF17 specific issue.
-
Can you get them to hit anything?. My experience with them is they just do their own thing and go nowhere near the target.
-
Maybe ship aspect has some factor in it. Try coming in from the side.

AFAIK SEA1 is for stationary and moving targets. SEA2 is only moving targets. My experience is that ability to lock depends on the speed and size of a vessel.

Diamond is your SPI / waypoint and can't be moved AFAIK

[!!!!!!] AG radar flashing issue (No more separated thread please)
TJTAS replied to Rabbisaur's topic in Bugs and Problems
Using ground radar and Tpod causes flashing when you narrow scan arc If you have the TPOD open on one of your MFDs and Ground radar on another if you narrow the radar scan arc the radar MFD starts flashing between radar and a full colour TPOD view (TPOD mounted on center pylon in case that matters). -
Possible to have jets make a single, high speed bombing pass?
TJTAS replied to TheHighwayman's topic in Mission Editor
I find the waypoint which tells them to bomb something needs to be a way out from the target area. Then they will line up on the target and bomb it. You may also want to set the reaction to threat (set option menu under advanced waypoint option) to No reaction. The default is always abort mission for some reason. -
ALL controlable units should be crewable you may not need to use them but you may want to use them (manned i mean). Map graphics. These are hugely important, you should never have to refer to the briefing mid mission. In the first mission it was very hard to track where the contact reports were. First mission needs recon. You do not want to be using your main force to find the enemy. BRDMs or some other expendable assets. Better way of identifying which units you can control and better naming of the assets. There needs to be some real work done on unit spotting routines. The AI can see through fog and woods way better than a human can. Better Arty control. See my thread in the combined arms thread.

Just tried it again. It's really crummy. Apart from the lack of units that are crewable there are lots of units which you can't even control for some reason. There are aircraft which you can control but do nothing. Also for some reason you are not assigned any recon assets. Wish I could refund TBH.

As far as I can see with a quick look there is only the briefings. I'm afraid a ground campaign is one area where DCS's lack of map graphics is a real hindrance.
-
not impressed So only tried mission 1 but so far NOT IMPRESSED is my first thought. Very few of your units are crewable, I can only find 2 platoons of T-55's, this seems a bit stupid as you are facing T-72's. In fact if you go to spectators in the mission not only are all of the enemy units displayed but there are more crewable units on red than blue.
-
Glad you like it. Do you have an example of what you are asking for?.

I've made an F-102 look-a-like skin for the M2KC using this template. It is supposed to represent a 509FIS aircraft in Vietnam using the SEA camouflage. Thank you for the template!. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301104/

Probably wasting my time as ED don't seem to care about CA but:- It would be nice to have an improved artillery interface and system. The current system does not reflect the way in which artillery is really used or called. I honestly think improving artillery would also make them a more important target for air power. Things which I think could be improved are. An artillery dialogue accessible through and FO (or JTAC bino view) with the size and number of rounds to call. Different types of ammunition and missions available (Smoke, HE, ICM) The ability to set up a number of firing positions and have Artillery units cycle through the positions that are assigned to them. Ammunition haulers dedicated to the artillery unit which would ferry ammo from supply points. the ability to have a stockpile of ammo with an artillery unit for rapid replenishment (and with inherent risks). Towed artillery units with the necessity of prime movers and the risks involved with Hitching/unhitching periods. Less instant accuracy and the ability to call single rounds for adjustment. Holding or cancelling fire orders. Repeating and adjust fire missions.

[REPORTED] Lots of pathfinding issues with CA on PG map
TJTAS replied to TJTAS's topic in Bugs and Problems
Only using 3 vehicle platoons and 7 man squads. -
There seem to be a lot of pathfinding issues with units on the PG map. Mainly units (including infantry) getting stuck on buildings.

OK the hover hold was partly me. I kept thinking that Director Mode was on by default as it was lit up. So I was turning it off. Bad move as I was really turning it on due to the way the lights are working wrong. The Turn on target does not seem to be functioning well if at all.
