  1. For just the basic let's go up and dogfight its not bad but when you read through all the post on this thread and all the attached threads that go with it it seams pretty extensive.
  2. Same here. I only buy anymore once I've read enough forum content that the module is as it should be. Don't need perfect but the reason we pay so much for DCS modules is because we are not just your every day run and gun simmers. We want immersion and we are willing to pay for it. It's like the difference between buying a basic Hyundai or going into a BMW dealership and getting what you pay for. If I wanted every day incomplete sims I can get that for $40 in one box with 20 different planes. If the sim is going to be just like buying the the generic flight sims of the past why bother.
  3. Yeah I'm seeing where other people with the stand alone mods are having the same issues. I see in one of your thumbnails you posted showing the special tab in the game settings that there are several other "conversions" such as the SU-25 that originally came with the game. Is that mod yours as well?
  4. So you're having the same problems I am with the stand-a-lone. I am still using the DCS 2.5.5xxx version. Haven't downloaded the latest update yet.
  5. Sorry for delay. I am in USA in totally different time zones. I do not have FC3. I own F15C and MIG-29 as separately purchased modules. As for the F-5E liveries for some reason they put the extra liveries for the F-5E in your saved game files under liveries. Not sure why but when I overwrote that file with your download it erased all of those other files.
  6. Should all three MIG-29 cockpit folders have these lines in them?
  7. I'm starting to see some of the problem. I don't have any of these files you show listef in your MIG-29 file. All I have is a single .lua file. Also when typed cockpit_MIG-29 in lower case it's not necessarily how the files show it. I don't know how to copy file lines to forums other than type them in. Sorry
  8. I think all F-5E liveries were in the saved games area because it's the only plane that lost the multiple livery options.
  9. Question: Why would you have us overwrite the existing liverie files in saved games instead of adding it to the already existing files. Now I've lost all my other liveries in this file including the many F-5E exterior liveries found in this file. I have the stand alone MIG-29 No FC3.
  10. That's exactly how I have it. I only have the three MIGs under special because this is the first conversion I've installed.
  11. What it should tell you is to copy the three MIG-29 cockpit files and put them in the "Liveries" folder with all the others. Not to overwrite the liveries folder. Now I don't know how to get the others back without a full reinstall. Hate to do that with all the modules I've purchased.
  12. By following the instructions given with the file it told me to overwrite my "liveries" file in saved games which did away with all my other aircraft "liveries" such as all the F-5E liveries. Where I had several to choose from now i only have 2. Read Me.txt
  13. Yeah I did something wrong somewhere. I've lost all my F-5E liveries. Only have 2 now. Had several before this.
  14. my saved games file looks like this: saved games/DCS/Liveries/cockpit MIG-29A saved games/DCS/Liveries/cockpit MIG-29G saved games/DCS/Liveries/cockpit MIG-29S [Edit] Sorry forgot the "cockpit" in the line
  15. I have the option in the special setting window to choose either default or english for the MIG 29 but it's not showing up when I go to the actual cockpit. One other thing I have a bad feeling that I replaced all my stock liveries in the savedgame/DCS folder with these 3 MIG folders because in the instructions it said to overwrite. I don't see any of the other liveries that come with the game.
  16. No I am not. At least not with DCS. Can you show me what the file line(s) should look like?
  17. First off I didn't realize when you were talking about deleting the english file it was to uninstall the mod. So I didn't do that. However having said that since saving the file to my saved game files didn't work I copied the files into the program files. Isn't this where it should go? Still nothing. Shouldn't these files be copied into the cockpit file in the MIG-29 file and not the liveries? Liveries is for exterior. Also why is the original cockpit file in the program files a compressed file?
  18. Where should this file mod go and what should the file line look like? While I can select the english version in the settings special window the english version of the cockpits don't show up.
  19. Need Help. I have the V1.3 downloaded and liveries file unzipped into my save games folder SavedGames/DCS/liveries/cockpit MIG-29A /cockpit MIG-29G /cockpit MIG-29S I can go to special under the setting menu and select english for all three planes but when I go into the MIG-29 it's still shows all Russian labeling in cockpit. I could understand if I loaded it wrong but it's showing up under the settings menu as available. [EDIT] I just opened up each plane types file and the 29A and 29G only show one .lua file while the 29S has several livery based files. Is this correct? [EDIT] In your instructions you talk about deleting the /english folder in the folder line. Does that mean you want or need us to copy each folder files under the individual planes designation such as instead of it reading Liveries/MIG-29A /english it should read Liveries/MIG-29A
  20. I was just watching a YT video on the NATO or West German version of the Mig-29 where I notice most of the controls and labels in the cockpit have been converted over to English. Is there a way to do that in DCS. I find it very confusing trying to know what controls I am supposed to be using when everything's in Russian.
  21. Examples of actual A4 HUD sights: https://ar.pinterest.com/lucianodrb/gun-sights/ https://www.mycity-military.com/imgs4/65870_98733983_bullseye.jpg Pretty cool and ancient video of developing bombing sights for the A4.
  22. Now that sounds like the real thing. Just finished reading "The Hunter Killers" by Dan Hampton about the Wild Weasels of Vietnam plus a few others I've been drowning myself in from the Vietnam air war. Every time these guys talk about surviving a dogfight or outrunning SAMs they always end with the same thing.."I removed the hot rubber oxygen mask sticking to my face from the intense moisture and heat from the battle...LOL. Really puts you there.
  23. What are you using the Ipads for? I would love to be able to set those up to use strictly as MFDs. I dunno. There's something about having realistic ground textures that is so much more immersive. One of my biggest turn-offs in DCS is flying thru the mountains in the Caucasus map and seeing pointy mountain tops or blurry textures. Check out this video done on an FSX simulator using the F4 Phantom. You've gotta jump to 3:30 before it really gets good. The cloud layering at 7:30 is top notch!! This was 5 years ago and the outside graphics are incredible. Between the ground textures and the mist and variable cloud cover it's incredible. The cockpit interior is a little lame. Doesn't come close to DCS. But when watching this video and looking out the cockpit as they fly below the mountain tops it looks like they are really flying thru the misty mountains along the Vietnam/Laos border. Absolutely incredible texturing. Now if we could combine the two..WOW!!:shocking: Although the new Syria map looks pretty good. Just have this Vietnam air war itch that I need to scratch. Have been swallowing up books about it for the last three months.
  24. I hope my ejection sequence never takes that long... I've seen WW2 fighter pilots climb out of a burning cockpit quicker than that...lol.
