  1. DFCS was put on the F-14B upgrades late into their career.
  2. Here's the thing with an F-14D in DCS, the entire systems are classified. The radar? Part of it was built from the F-15E's AN/APG-70. The MFD systems and all that? It's sitting in the same classified manual as the PTID, sparrowhawk, etc. You don't have to take my word for it, HB has stated many times why they can't do a F-14D right now. And here's another thing, Heatblur has the permission from Grumman to use their logo and whatnot in the jet, and be able to sell it. TLDR: F-14D, and even the F-14B Upgrade systems are still classified, and sitting in a manual, which is also likely sitting in an underground bunker vault. You can't just get a freeware jet from FSX to DCS, and expect to sell it.
  3. I can tell you. It's because the documentation for the F-14D, and the F-14B Upgrade program was either a. Manuals were not made in bulk for them, which may be why you can't find a lot of it b. It's sitting in a classified vault and won't be declassified for a while c. the B upgrade info is likely sitting in the same document as the F-14D -1A
  4. I believe the E-2 was able to prioritize datalink contacts and send it to tomcats. I have had the problem where I am in a huge airwing taking off the boat, and I get 8 contacts from everyone taking off, but not the prioritized contacts that are within my flight's designated commit criteria. From what I've heard, it is prioritized. The 14Ds had Link16 iirc, and were able to send as many datalink contacts to each other as they wanted.
  5. I was just curious what Heatblur’s entire plan is with the AI A-6 and KA-6. From what I’ve heard, HB doesn’t have any plans for an EA-6A or EA-6B. Instead of just hearing rumors, I thought it would be a good idea to ask HB themselves. I understand EW is all classified, and an AI EA-6 would really just be an orbiting AI/carrier deck objects. One of the main problems would be AN/ALQ-99 and AN/ALQ-218 modeling in DCS. Another problem would be a 4-crewed aircraft. Also, with the potential introduction for more sophisticated EW in DCS with the arrival of that one company that would help to an IADS network with ED, maybe it would be an idea for a 3rd party, or ED, to make a dedicated EW aircraft. And, if HB has already made a statement on what I’m asking, a link to the forum post would be appreciated.
  6. Yep, that's why it is a bug, and is also the reason I posted the bug report
  7. Bug: A loadout with the AIM-7 that clips through phoenix rails Can I reproduce it 100%: yes How to reproduce/ description: Put phoenixes, or bombs, or anything on 6 and 3 phoenix rails. Then, put sparrows on station 5 Result: You get this DCS Version: OpenBeta 2.5.6.55363 Headtracker: TrackIR 5 Mods: Only thing I have is the F-14B Sound mod by myself.
  8. Carrier won’t be able too see as far because of the radar horizon. E-2 has a very good EW radar. Up at 30,000 feet, it has a very long range capability.
  9. Oh yeah, I’m very familiar with the “F-14D when” posts. I’ve been on the block for a while. I completely understand the information needed to make something like that.
  10. I am curious to know what someone from HB would think of this concept.
  11. I don’t think it’s hurting anyone. No reason they should listen to a joke forum post vs info from HB themselves. It can easily be seen as a photoshopped image.
  12. This is DCS, Also, it's an F-14B Upgrade
  13. a cool concept on what could have been. Keyword, concept
  14. I was curious on the features that are yet to come to the F-14B. I know we are going to get the digital engine gauges, but I was just curious what else there is. I know the PTID and B Upgrade is out the window, along with the F-14D idea that many people have. Is the implementation of the TCS aerdyn. cover a thing? That would mean you have to make the TCS switch and TID mode inoperable, to an extent. What about the AIM-54C+? With how classified that is, along with the 54C ECCM Sealed, I would imagine that is in the same state as the 14D and PTID stuff. One thing I am curious about is the record function in the RIO pit. Maybe have that actually export footage of the HUD/TID/TCS to a folder, if it's turned on. Also, is the E-2 datalink priorities ever going to move from just being the closest 8 datalink contacts? This has been a problem within my squadron a bit, where we have 20+ aircraft within 30 miles, and bandits hot at 40.
  15. I completely understand what you are saying. It would probably have to be shown in the loadout page like this. Switching the codes of each bomb, though, would be a task.
  16. It was brought up in a discussion in inbetween some vsquadron mates of mine, if the ability to change each individual LGB laser code was going to be a thing? This would allow 2 GBUs to be rippled in a short succession (Given separation delay) and allow 2 bombs to hit 2 different places at the same time. This would allow TOT and quicker weapons employment for times when time over an AO is scarce. If it was not used in real life, and it is something that was never a thing for the F-14s that operated with LGBs, then disregard :D.
  17. https://imgur.com/a/5sIv7U6 This is a somewhat non maneuvering target. The bandits that were targetted did maneuver to defend the missiles earlier in that specific sequence, but had no effect on the AIM-54s, and they kept tracking.
  18. Recently with the newest patch, I have seen some strange behavior on the AIM-54. This strange behavior happens at the "active radar" stage of the missile within the last 10 miles or so when homing on a target. https://imgur.com/a/G695kYH From my point of view watching these tacviews over and over, trying to figure out what is going on, it seems to me that the missile is just shutting it's radar off. Regardless of being notched or not, the missile seems to stop tracking. You can see the nose of the missile tracking in some cases after the notch of the target and stops tracking seconds later. The link I have provided shows 4 cases. All 4 tacviews are on multiplayer. Fired well within parameters. With the help of some users on the Tomcat Alley discord, I was able to come up with some information that may be valuable. Radar Mode: TWS and PDSTT. Should not matter since the missile is active. Distance: Fired roughly around 33-15nm. Launch parameters: For the player shots, we were at 32K barometric, Mach .9, hot aspect. Jester or RIO: All player AIM-54 shots were done with a full crew. AI or PVP: AI. The reason that makes me think this is just a missile problem and not a parameter problem is the fact that an AI launched AIM-54 has had the same problem. Another user in the Tomcat Alley discord stated he saw the same problem on a tacview of his, but has not linked his tacview or video. For this to be repeated from my perspective: Single player or Multiplayer: Multiplayer Crew: 2 Players Radar mode: TWS AUTO or MAN Missile Type: Charlies and Alphas track the same for now. Speed: Mach .8 works just fine. Altitude and range: Altitude can be from 25-34 and fox-3 shot can be around 25-40nm with a crank. Bandit Type: Su-27 is what I have seen the most of. Bandit Altitude: 25-34K feet. If tacview is wanted, I will post it with timestamp, coordinates of missile, and who it was shot by. DCS Version: 2.5.6.52196 Open Beta No mods installed Peripherals: CPU: i5-7300HQ @2.50GHz GPU: GeForce GTX 1050 Memory: 16GB RAM OS:Win10 Logitech X56 HOTAS TrackIR 5 Razer Deathadder Chroma Razer Kraken V2 Corsair K95 Platinum Elgato Streamdeck Discord: BreaKKer#9678 There is another user that has experienced the bug. If needed, I will get his user.
  19. And there isn't a any way to split a TWS track into two contacts? Like MULTI TGT? Though, I am pretty sure MULTI TGT is just for datalink.
  20. Look forward to what you bring to the community for the future. I wish you good luck on the AI and the future module. Do you have a discord server for your projects aswell? I’m sure some of the forum users here would love to share their knowledge and discuss what the AI and future module will possess. https://media0.giphy.com/media/3oKHWikxKFJhjArSXm/giphy.gif?cid=4d1e4f299748ce413ce1b58ac405ad4c21cf055cd43c5ee7&rid=giphy.gif
  21. Hey SkateZilla, have you had any contact with Coretex Designs? They were working on the playable super hornet in about 2012 and disappeared. They most likely have a ton of info you could use.
