Maybe it's a matter of semantics but people are mentioning "unlocking" the target. Don't unlock, just slew the designator to the new target after the previous has been destroyed. The Vikhrs will follow the designator across the ground so try to get it on the new target quickly.

Remember that seeing the scan cone has a lower altitude of 0 feet means that at the FULL RANGE of the scan, the cone is at zero. Depending on your altitude, there can be a LOT of unscanned space under your cone closer to you than that full range. For example, fly at angels 20 and set your scan range to 80. Adjust to put the bottom of the scan cone at 0 feet and then switch to a scan range of 20. See where your bottom of the scan cone is now? Now adjust it to 0 feet at the 20 scan range. Switch back to 80 and see where your bottom of the scan cone is.

Why would it need one? The F-15 targeting computer should know what flight path a homing AMRAAM will take if it has the position and vector of the target. And it would know the velocity of the AMRAAM throughout its flightpath. I would think the displayed TTA figure is an instantaneous result even though the target may be manuevering and changing the TTA constantly.

VTOL works with the Osprey. I haven't tried a Harrier.

I agree, Flyby. The Ka-50 isn't meant to have an opposing a/c. Though I have no doubt that someone will have a head-to-head gunzo server for Ka-50s in HL. Or maybe vikhrs at 50 paces. :)

Has anyone tried it here? I'm just scratching the surface as far as building a mission and of course, no matter how much work you put into it, you still can't shoot anything. But it has capabilities like no other mission builder I've seen. I just wish it was more user friendly. There are triggers galore and you can add 3D objects of whatever you might dream up. If you're not familiar with it and have FSX Deluxe, look on disk 1 and install the SDK and then SP1 for the SDK (download it). Then load a free flight and open it under the tools menu. From the looks of it, I would think the ability to drop bombs would be possible, but a lot of work with limited functionality. If you have FSX and haven't tried the default missions, try them. Some are quite challenging and some are quite fun.

Not necessarily better. But the main point is that LOMAC does not provide enough post-mission data to would allow a DCG like Lowengrin's to function. For example, there is no record of AI v AI kills.
