I, too, do not see a problem with people saying that UBI is crap; they are entitled to their opinions. Why should I create a 1.02 community at HL when a strong one already exists at UBI? It's couter-productive. Players go where other players are. What part of that don't you get? So, you want me to load UBI, PM everyone to tell them I'm at HL, Close UBI, load HL, host a gunzo mission and wait...hoping someone joins my game? To me, it would be less of a "waste of time" to load UBI, Host a gunzo mission and start playing with others online right away. Wouldn't you agree? *Trance mode on* It does make sense. It does make sen...hey wait a minute!*Trance mode off* You almost had me :) Are you a hypnotist?

Cool. More noob's for me :)

Either you're being sarcastic and don't actually feel 1.02 is still awesome, or you are insulting me again. If it's another insult, that's the kind of (persistent and destructive) attitude that WhiskeyRomeo and I have been talking about.
-
Figure that. Your sig shows that you're a noob, yourself (Join Date: Dec 2005). Pure genious! ;) That's what I want, too! You should hold off from judging other's intentions until you've been around for a while. You should also post it at the Flanker (lockon's predecessor) forum. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums/a/frm/f/73610606 This probably won't sink in right away, rookie. But some people will play Flanker, others Lockon 1.02, some FC, and others BC. I'm only trying to get the players already playing 1.02 to join me online. I am in no way trying to keep people from upgrading to FC, or BC. Yep. If hosts leave things like labels on, to attract new players, each "Ace" client still has the option to turn off labels in-game (commensurate with his/her skill level). Small things like that allure and keep players flying. Why should I bother hosting a server at HL, when there's lots of folks to fly with at Ubi in 1.02? I host when I join Ubi's lobby and I do load settings similar to what you mentioned. Conversely, why don't you see if the 169th can have a server dedicated to the UBI lobby playing 1.11, 1.12? Maybe you could drum up some interest for FC that way. If you have complications with UBI's lobby software, I'd be glad to help troubleshoot. I'm not sure if you guys are doing something different than I am, but there are the same amount of steps to get into a game from the HL lobby as there are from UBI's. Ubi's chat is disabled; it's in bold letters as you enter the lobby. Most folks at UBI go there to play and use the chat function within the game.

Nice movie. I like the AWACS comms at the beginning.

Hmm...I guess I'm the kind of genious that's created 5 FPS savings modifications and 3 tutorials to try to help the community. Genious? Kind of deck? Your attitude reflects that you really don't encourage people to play lockon in any form they can; it's quite clear by the insulting comments you made about me. As WhiskeyRomeo stated, "Telling a new 1.02 owner the ONLY way to fly online is buy the Flaming Cliffs upgrade and go to Hyperlobby to fly is just wrong because its not true." There's also nothing wrong with suggesting people play at UBI on the UBI board. You'll notice I made no such comments here on the ED board. An alternative to this problem could be to suggest to ED to make LockOn updates compatible for online play. P.S. Genious is spelled "genius," genius.

If the charts are representative of the other charts on ED's site, then yes, the black line is the G limit.

Did you hear the one about an Olgerd, a Priest and a Rabbi in a bar...?

A story of Me, Witchking, and a love of simulation

Everyone rejoiced throughout the land of the Lion, the Witchking and the Wankey. And they lived happily ever after. :) -
Oooooooooookayyyyyyyy. What was that all about? You're typing too loud!! :-)

There are palm trees in southern crimea. Man, I love google. http://www.blacksea-crimea.com/Places/yalta2.html I've flown over these places a bunch of times in Flanker and Lockon. It's neat to compare how closely they resemble the real deal. I've strafed these people: http://www.blacksea-crimea.com/Photos/NewPhotos/Yalta8.jpg I've blown this up: http://www.uazone.org/gallery/img/ua.kiev/crimea/crimea133swallownestb.jpg Lit this on fire: http://travel.kyiv.org/crimea/sevastopol/sevastopol_2.jpg And crashed into this: http://www.uazone.org/gallery/img/ua.kiev/crimea/crimea135rockparusb.jpg ED's attention to detail never ceases to amaze me.

Because you haven't sent them their free courtesy copy yet. :-)

Hi. You're correct. For all I know the fog works like it should with no pop-ups in 1.11. That would rock! There are no downloadable files like dxrenderer (or any others) associated with this "mod". It is a tutorial. This tutorial teaches the limitations of the graphics engine and workarounds for them. So, it would still be useful to a 1.11 user (if he has the time/drive to experiment with some settings). Cheers.

When using fog, I'm able to run all scenes on hi. Details are rendered much closer to player, but the effect is is still convincing. Here's a tutorial to eliminate all pop ups in fog: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?download=1926

A-10 combat aircraft fundamentals
Hawg11 replied to AMVI_Surgeon's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
lunanera, You can only get hold of the manual if you have a need for the information. American civilians may have access if there is an established need and he/she is authorized ("Authorized" being the key word). Because the manual is NOFORN, no military or civilian foriegn national may have access to it. AMVI_Surgeon, Just FYI. Now that we know the document is FOUO/NOFORN, it may be unlawful to try to procure it. For further guidance or questions you should consult the USAF Office of Public Affairs. -

Hi Olgerd, I know this only because I was in the military. FOUO and NOFORN are considered sensitive but unclassified. Also, if you look further down on the webpage you posted above, it says "Special Handling: FOUO/NOFORN" Not all official manuals are FOUO/NOFORN. If there is a special handling requirement, it will say so at the top of the document. EDIT: AMVI_Surgeons's entusiastic response confused me. It looks like you already knew the documents were FOUO/NORORN. Sorry about that. -
This is great news Olgerd!! ED rocks!!!!!!!!!! :)

Idea: Display turn rate / radius data for training
Hawg11 replied to Hawg11's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Thanks Jet. Did you need to re-name the prf? Right now, from the zipped state, the prf reads: "export.lua~prf" Can that be right? Wouldn't it need to be renamed to "export.lua"? -
***Complaint mode on*** This always frustrated me since the Flanker series. ED has a penchant for tweaking the FM with every single patch. I remember before Flanker 2.5 became 2.51 there were like 5 release candidates available to the public. Each one had a vastly different FM (especially the MiG29, which was new at the time). Very frustrating. If I were the dev's I would use my time programming AFM's for all the flyables, instead of perfoming FM tweaks. This is the main reason why it's impossible for a player to use, say, lockon vers. 1.02 online against/with a player using 1.11. If ED stopped this practice there wouldn't be such a rift in the online community. All IMO, of course. ***Complaint mode off***

Now type: "Mary May Makes More Muffins." ;P Google rocks. Hope this helps: http://www.dtic.mil/doctrine/jel/new_pubs/3_50_21.pdf http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/docs/11oa10v3.pdf I would go to the extensive appendix and search google for some of the manuals. I'm sure you'll get luck on some of them. -

smite button...hehe Indeed, the possiblities could be virtually endless, if this .lua coding were enabled. (I'm thining audio files each time a ground object spawns. Player gets a call from JSTARS. "Enfield11, CAS request, 3 artillery units east of Kislovodak. Fac reports AAA in the area.")
