I assigned the axis to my (Genius) pedals. Had to invert it though.

I know there's already a code in-game to have this happen if you get hit by a missile so my assumption is, (though I could be wrong of course), it shouldn't be too hard to to add this to engine shutdown procedure. It's kinda of a "meh" feeling when I shut down the engines and I still have all the cockpit displays on..doesn't really give me a feeling of putting my bird to "rest". The same could be added prior engine start on ramp: make the displays lit up after say, one engine is spooled up. I know it's not "realistic" but it's FC3 we're talking about. So what do you guys think of the idea? I know bug fixes are a top priority and this might seem not too important but, I think it would be a small "tweak" that would add a lot to the immersion factor.

DCS LOCKON Flaming Cliffs 3 Promo Video
Kenan replied to ExGreyFox's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
^^I agree with Kuky. I think you folks are a bit too harsh on the maker of this video. This is actually a very well done promo (not taking anything away from Cato). -
About EOS and r27 missile in Su27S and Mig29S
Kenan replied to VAOZoky's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I'm sure beta testers are doing their best. It could happen to anyone, even to a group of dedicated testers to miss a giant pilot head in the back of Su27 cockpit. So, instead of complaining about it, every bug should be reported, even the most obvious one, as even those could miss an untrained eye. -
Love the F15C and the 6DOF cockpit so it's worth getting for Eagle fans + AFM for missiles and updated cockpit/HUD systems. When the landing physics get improved I think it'll be definetelly worth getting it.

What an irony. As I noted in my previous posts, people who complain about other people "whining" are actually the ones using that word so often on these forums and the ones who actually do. Once I've proven you wrong (after you accused me of making things up), now you call me a whiner..Instead, maybe you should just bow down, shake hands and accept you were wrong? You should try it some times.

Actually, read this before accusing me of making things up: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1541528&postcount=1 And here's a quote for you:

That must get fixed as that was the feature they announced.

I would be a very, very happy and grateful customer and enjoy FC3 if ED improved the landing and taxiing. I can live without clickable cockpit, hell, most of those switches you click only at the startup and seldomly use them again (hence the HOTAS), but the whole ice skating, arcadish feel of taxiing and getting glued on the runway on touchdown..is too much of a turn off.. If they fix that and make the landing a bit more challenging, it would add a whole new dimension to FC3.

Except you would have to wait 20+ years for it to be declassified for a consumer simulator..or have it now but with like only 20% available info on it..

Top pilot calls for halt on stealth programs
Kenan replied to marcos's topic in Military and Aviation
Yes but that they didn't -know- it was invisible. :D -
Ok. thanks for the info. I feel a lot better knowing it's in the works. Anything more advanced then the current glued on the runway landing / ice skating taxiing we have right now, would be a step forward. If it takes time, so be it. Just make it part of FC3.
-
Wags, will the landing physics be improved in future updates (as noted as one of the new features)? The way it is now, it's as scripted as it was in FC1/FC2. Please see this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96743 Thanks.

Well, let's just "presume" he knows a lot more then we do.. -
Is it me or the afterburner ie. engine nacells animation is also wrong ie. when punching afterburner they shrink and when putting throttle to idle they expand?
-
Nah, "Kenan" would be just fine.

The biggest problem here is ED's lack of communication with the community. If they told us "Ok. here's the beta, but some features are yet to be implemented." it would have made a huge difference: no panic posts by people who bought it and asking what happened to this or that and the overall atmosphere would be a lot less "heated". I would like Matt or someone from ED confirm us that this is suppoed to be like that, that the next updates will include the features that were announced. If that happens, I'll be a happy customer, knowing it's a work in progress. BUT, since we weren't told anything like that, hence all the confusion. So, what was so difficult to add in the release announcement "This is beta, some of the features, like improved landing physics/ground handling are not yet implemented."? That's the problem with ED. Lack of regular updates / communication with the community.

Landing model still feels unchanged - scripted
Kenan replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
^^It's intersting that people accusing other people of "whining" are actually the ones continuously repeating their discontent with other folks criticism. You connect the dots. As previously noted, Beta means - features that are there but are still being worked on. It doesn't mean features that were announced but aren't there at all and you were required to pay for it. So yes, we are "whining" because improved landing physics are not W.I.P or "getting there but not quite yet", it's because they're non-existant. If this was some early-Alfa only few select could access, ok..but Beta means, in almost every type of software (and most of the time) - major features implemented, working on polishing the product and fixing the bugs before making an official (stable) release. I think you're the only guy who doesn't actually know what beta is, hence, the "looking down" attitude. -
That was my thought as well.

Thanks!

Where is the G indicator on the F15C HUD?
-
Please check out this video: (starting from 4:33) Looks like real F15C in gun mode, once the target is "locked" gives out a tone. If this indeed is the case, what are the chances of this being implemented in the final FC3 release? Or is this perhaps an aiming/sim pod being engaged?

Landing model still feels unchanged - scripted
Kenan replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
BTW, I know now why my previous thread was so quickly shut down. If I knew back then this feature wasn't even implemented yet, I would have waited a bit longer before cashing out. I guess if we got an honest answer there, things could have been a bit different. -
Landing model still feels unchanged - scripted
Kenan replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
There's a difference between info provided and what's in the product. I knew why I wanted to buy FC3: 6DOF Eagle pit + improved landing physics. Those are the feature announced, not something community came up with. So yeah, the dissapointment is not because FC3 is not DCS but rather the features which were (officially) supposed to be there, aren't. -

Updated landing physics, taxiing etc. is no small feature. It was announced and many folks decided to pay 40$ for it. That and F15C upgraded 6DOF cokcpit and all the little bells and whistels -could- to some point justify the 40$ price tag. However, if it stays like this, many of us will feel misslead. I am NOT "bashing" ED, this is still beta and I hope this feature is yet to be implemented. Any improvement over "ice skating" while taxiing and "super glueing" yourself on the runway on touchdown would make most people feel very grateful. We don't expect an Advanced Flight Model (was never advertised at all), but please, tweak the code a little, even if it takes 2 more months, to fix the landing and ground behaviour.
