  1. ^^In modern US jets you have 15 miles range, 14 miles range etc..It's fairly accurate. Definetelly not the same as approximation in russian birds, at least that's how it's modelled in FC3 and yes, I think it's pretty important to know the range of the target and not just guess it's somewhere between 50 and 25km.
  2. That cockpit looks unfinished..to say the least. Textures anyone? Actually, current FC3 cockpit looks a lot better. Also, seeing a poor framerate in the presentation video doesn't really make you buy X-Plane in the first place, let alone MiG29 addon..
  3. The moment I saw MiG-29A and Su-27 having a same radar detection range, I dismissed the document and stopped reading any further..
  4. ^^Yeah but, isn't that bit of a risky? Yes, it can be done but..I don't know, seems kinda weird to do it in a millions $ worth bird packed with avionics and stuff..
  5. 1. If there's no FPM in russian HUDs, how do for example, pilots land on runways which do NOT have any kind of ILS? US pilots use the flight path marker, what do russian pilots do? 2. If the real HDDs in Sus and Migs do NOT have those range bars, how do the pilots know exact range from the target, especially if the range displayed on the HUD (upper left corner) is only approximation (at least according to what is shown in FC3). Do the russian pilots have the ability to tell the exact range at all? 3. Why am I so awesome?
  6. Could you or someone here please point me to the thread giving the info on how to do this? Or explain? Thanks.
  7. Perhaps you should get FC3 as it has Advanced Missile Model?
  8. Hahahaha! :D Rep inbound!
  9. Croatia also works on a comercial about our air force. Once both of our Migs are repaired, we're gonna make a helluva movie and post it on Youtube!
  10. Only a very small percentage of pilots get to actually experience real combat during the course of their career.
  11. GGTharos ^^Yes, but we're talking Mig29 here..which is a quite popular aircraft in this community and among those which didn't get announced for a cockpit upgrade. As I said, it might be a coincidence but kinda makes me think nevertheless..
  12. VRS is doing what it's meant to do: simulate F18 and it's systems/weapons. We can debate about the "fidelity" of the simulation level..but don't forget most of RL pilots also train against "dummy" targets which are not firing back..and you still call them combat pilots flying combat training missions..so in that regard, VRS is a combat training simulator for SuperBug..
  13. MiG-29 planned as future DCS module? It may be a coincidence and simple lack of resources that led to the fact that MiG-29 is among the FC3 aircrafts not to be upgraded with 6DOF cockpit. I'm sure ED once they announced the aircraft list getting the cockpit facelift, at least to some extent, expected dissapointment and "outrage" from part of the community ie. MiG fans, due to their bird being left out from the upgrade. Now, as I said, this might simply be lack of time and/or resources to include another (Mig29) 6DOF cockpit in the mix..OR, it is of course only guessing on my side, they left it out for in the near future they plan on making a DCS module fully commited to the bird..OR they've made an agreement with one of the third parties to produce the Fulcrum as a standalone, thus focusing all the work needed for it to a project of its own? This is just pure speculation on my part..wonder what do you guys think? :)
  14. ^^Nothing a next patch couldn't fix.
  15. I think the more interesting question would be why the Eagle pilot launched from 'only' 14 miles range? Perhaps they were sure serbian Migs can't launch their R27 at that range or something else?
  16. One step at a time young padawans..one step at a time.. :D
  17. ^^That doesn't neccessarily mean the landing model got improved over the current one we have in FC3 as Wags stated they did all they could with it (given the SFM limitations). I think they simply forgot to add it to the list as one of the (current) features already available in FC3. It's not much of an improvement..but there are some very slight changes in regards to landing behaviour.
  18. This is fantastic news! FC3 is looking more and more a completely new product and not just a mere sequel/extension of FC2. Not buying it now while it's still in beta and with the current price tag, would be IMO a missed opportunity! ;)
  19. ^^Fighting armed pesants is not much of an accomplishment..especially if we add to it many unarmed civilians. It's like bombing villages with MiG21 and then it made such a high kill score it should be branded aircraft of the year..
  20. What do you guys think of this? It's a chinese Flanker simulation for FSX, and it looks pretty detailed avionics-wise. Not sure though how accurate is the overall info on this bird since it's a chinese modern jet.. http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=bearj11b
  21. Just wanted to let you know: Got the TacPack. It's a 17mb download..and it adds a lot to the existing Hornet avionics system, launchable weapons and whatnot..I've been flying the Bug for the last couple of days non-stop (carrier traps being my favourite past time)..Money well spent. Recommend it to all the Hornet lovers. Let's hope one day we see the Bug in DCS, untill then VRS + Tacpack will do more then fine! :)
  22. ^^Yeah..ED community is known to be very composed, shy and above all, modest about things we want.. :D
  23. Considering how long it takes to make one, I presume they already had one sitting around and decided to speed up the process after the community feedback?
  24. I'm pretty sure most of us here wouldn't mind waiting couple more months for the new features & fixes. With the new 6DOF cockpit for Su27, 29S radar mode and other (still classified) features in the mix, FC3 is getting better and better. Though the landings could be... Just kidding. :D
  25. It makes them look really bad..especially considering so many people paid for Area 51 access and in the end, the whole project, which was dragged for years and years, tanked.
