  1. You haven't read the OP well. His setup is opposite - his right monitor is his main monitor, that he wants to use for main view. It's his main monitor in windows (the only one that has a taskbar) It has 0,0 as it left-up corner. He now wants to use the left monitor for ABRIS+Shkval, for that the sim would have to support -1280,0 as a valid coordinate, as that's the poisition of his left-up corner on the left monitor, but it doesn't. I too would love for the sim to work with negative coordinates, because having the right physical monitor set-up as a left one in windows is a bit confusing. And I cannot run softth for other reasons.
  2. It will work with SoftTH Your main monitor allways starts at [0,0], so if you have a monitor that is left to it, then it will have negative X coordinates. If you have a monitor that is up, then the monitor will have negative Y coordinates. That's not allways possible because of situation on the desk. i.e I need my main monitor to be right-most, because there is no room left right from it, and as the table is L shaped, I cannot move my chair to sit infront of the left one.
  3. According to manual its 30.000-76.000Mhz. So yeah, it's high :)
  4. You're spoiled by youtube videos, don't forget that pilots are wearing earplugs under those helmets. Fire up BS, disable EGG, and watch the show as you tore those engines to pieces :)
  5. The difference is that seconds are in 0-60range and decimals are in .0-.99 range, so a conversion is required. i.e: 45'15'' = 45.25' 45'30'' = 45.5' 45'45'' = 44.75'
  6. IRL you have to aim the manpad visualy at the target for it to lock onto it, which might be problematic in the dark ;)
  7. (http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/144328/) OK pilots, here is the situation. As you are all probably aware, in the beginning of the war we used HARMs to destroy enemy radar sites. The enemy quickly adapted by switching their radars off and turning them on only for a brief period of time, insufficient for a successful HARM strike. Our magnificent air campaign has a serious flaw, gentlemen. Even though we’re hitting the enemy hard, we still got plenty of dormant radar SAM sites. Command has identified two SA-3 sites and two SA-6 sites close to the border, and our HARMs can do nothing with them. These dormant SAM sites present a big problem for the upcoming ground war. Every plane flying CAS would be in great threat from those sites, and if our CAS planes cannot carry out our missions and prevent friendlies from being killed…I guess you get the picture. Command wants those sites gone, and they want to be sure they are gone, that’s why they are tasking the A-10s to do that job. We’ll fly in, destroy their search and tracking radars, and get the hell out. You’ll lead the first two-ship to go in. Your callsign is UZI 1 and your mission is to take out a SA-3 site closest to the border, in the vicinity of Sukhumi-Babushara airport. Your targets are the P-19 “Flat Face B” target acquisition radar, and the SNR-125 “Low Blow” tracking radar. Don’t mess around with the launchers, they are useless without their radars. Now for some good news, you’ll have SEAD cover. Command is tasking a four-ship flight of F/A-18C, callsign FORD 4 to cover your butt in case the enemy decides to use their radar SAMs against you. If they do, get the hell out ASAP, and let the SEAD do its job. Stay S-E of the target and don’t fly deeper into the enemy territory then you have to. You can be sure they will go after you if you make yourself a certain kill. I’ll be honest with you, this is not the kind of mission we trained for and is not the kind of mission our plane was designed to do, but it’s the kind of mission Command thinks we’re best equipped to do, and we’re not going to prove them wrong. It’s a shitty job, but someone has to do it. If you happen to have some spare ammunition left after you took out those radars, and are in mood for some more action, then head for killbox Charlie, there are plenty of enemy artilleries. Pig will be tasked with striking them, but you’re welcome to join the party. Dismiss. Editor Notes: 1) This is my first take on any mission, and even though it is a simple one, there might be some bugs present. Sooo, if you find some, please report them. Also constructive criticism is always welcomed. :) 2) The default payload is without a TGP, this is on purpose, one of the challenges I intended for the pilot, is to use its maverick seeker to identify the radars (by using the areal image from briefing). 3) Don’t expect any ‘Mission complete’ messages while you’re in the target area (we are spoiled by these messages). Command is tasking you to take out those radars, and you have to know if they are out, not some mission script. Head back home when you think that you have met your mission objectives. You’ll get evaluation on your way home. Have fun and enjoy :pilotfly: Oh, and big thanks to DannyV for his realistic templates - http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82161 they helped me alot.
  8. The default FQ is UHF 251
  9. Looks and sounds great, will surely give it a try. :)
  10. Yes, and no... AAA is daily job of the hogs, and in the gulf war the hogs were used for DEAD. They hunted for SAM radars (SA-2, SA-6...), covered by wild weasels in case the iraqis decided to use them againts the A-10. The reason for this that IRL IAD operation are much smarter, then the simple 'allways on, fire anything that comes in range' that we got in DCS. edit: and IRL you cannot be never sure if a serious SAM thread is present, so a SEAD cover is often present.
  11. Yes, the top addons (PMDG, A2A) use FSX mostly for rendering/UI interface. Some of them even use their own sound engine. I haven't tried any of the A2A stuff yet, but I judge they will be close to PMDG in terms of quality... The biggest problem is, that even if they use their own FM, you can still feel its FSX on the fluidity... The EDs FM is super-fluid and the transition are very, very smooth, you don't get that in FSX, even if the overal FM performance is excelent.
  12. IRL, If you don't know that you have 15seconds, you shouldn't be sitting in that cockpit.
  13. Read the briefing, your flight should have an assigned fq, from the fq you can determine if you have to use FM, AM or UHF radio.
  14. UHF radio is most of the times used for comunication with wingmen.
  15. I agree with you on that one. I personally don't get the whole 'well you can fly that in FSX, there for it got no place in DCS' arguement. FSX has some great aspects and I enjoy flying the PMDG 737 a lot.
  16. Customers? What customers... I love when people think their opinion is the opinion of every other customer.... And newsflash...you can work on two products in paraller, in fact most SW companies do. Comparing FSX to DCS for P51 is like comparing FSX to DCS for BS... does anybody think, that any FSX addon does a better job at simulating heli FM then BS?
  17. Both were present in BS 1, NDB+ADF is still present in BS 2.0, not sure about slaving the ADF to the radio, haven't tried that out yet. So the engine capability is most likely there.
  18. By your logic we got HAWX for modern era combat...
  19. Not to accuse you of anything but these kind of problems are experienced on pirated/cracked versions of FC 2.0. Are you sure your copy comes from a valid shop?
  20. Why you have doubts? Throw down a convoy protected with a truck mounted AAA, and you got yourself fairly realistic scenario. Spotting ground targets without any fancy targeting pod will be a lot of challenge. Hell, navigating without a moving map and INS/EGI will be fun :D You won't be fighting Sa-10, sa-11...but you aren't fighting those in the BS or A-10 either. For AA, you will most likely have to stick to P-51 vs P-51, but that's not less realistic then the air quake we got with FC 2
  21. @sylkhan ED is a company, and it's goal is to generate revenue. If there is a reasonable market for ED to claim, they have to. There is a lot of ww2 fans out there, ready to be taken by ED. Hell, if people use a civ modern era sim to fly these beauties, then some of them will surely try the ED's mustang, some of them will then buy other EDs product -because they will notice the lvl of fidelity present on EDs product. More customers for ED is beneficial also for people who want only jet planes. Why ED can work on the mustang and a modern jet fighter in paraller? Because the team is most likely not fully saturated when working on a modern jet fighter - i.e. the avionics modeling will take a hell of a more time then the external model. So you need something for those people to work on, or you'll be wasting resource (you still have to pay them salary, even if they are not really producing anything) and you cannot assign a 3D artist or texture artist to avionics modelling... You can assign them on other project, the mustang doesn't require much avionics modelling, so the avionics guys can work on the jet fighter and 3D modelers have something to work on (mustang model), something that will provide revenue.
  22. Why? So you can cry again that it's not your desired airframe?
  23. It's astonoushing how some people have problems with understanding basic written text... Looking forward to this one :)
  24. I cannot image myself buying a sim for $500, but on the other hand I can image myself spending $500 for an airshow trip.
