  1. Gunships typically take off and hit the battlefield before the slicks arrive to cool off the LZ.
  2. What exactly is notching anyways? F-Pole, N-Pole, etc...
  3. Probably a background color has changed. Not sure what to tell you, did you make any changes to the lua when you added your second or third monitor? You could have changed the color when moving your CDU around...
  4. Think so, never got the acronym for the system. They call it HAVE GLASS on the few select F-16s that were test beds for it.
  5. Does it happen in DCS, or is it on desktop as well? Because if its the desktop too, then you have a bad port - if not a bad video card. Looks like its just in DCS though, the MFD isnt affected.
  6. They also ship the body parts by truck from state to state. They arent flown in by C-5, there are no corporate jets for stuff like that. Not really feasible to do that anyways. IIRC, at the height of production, they were pumping out an F-22 every 7 weeks or so (and that was just here at plant 6). Flight testing usually took about 30 days afterwards, then they would send it to the paint shop, hook the airframe to a pinnacle and test the actual RCS with an active radar system in an anechoic chamber. You cant just pump these things out. And if anyone is curious, the actual painting isnt done by human hands; its all robotics.
  7. Its not so much red tape as logistics. The center wing of the F-22 was built in Everett, WA. at the boeing plant, while the wings and other stuff were put together at Ft Worth. The cockpit was built, and the ships were assembled here at Plant 6. Logistical nightmare
  8. They tore down the assembly lines for the F-22. The tooling has been disassembled and placed in storage. The planes arent made in just one location either. It would take nothing short of a miracle to bring the line back up to speed within a year...not to mention they are in the process of demilitarizing spare canopies for the F-22. If anything, the F-16 would be called upon to be built en-masse first.
  9. Its not that it wont support EDGE, its that it wont look nearly as good as the NTTR map. Whos to say it will be fully compatible with EDGE anyways? ED hasnt mentioned anything of the sort.
  10. Ive taken a few years of english, and have been reading since I was 3. I did not understand a damn thing about this analysis. What, exactly, is the objective here? Your psychologist needs to learn language skills first..but of course, the Russians can say anything about their product first. On paper, it may look impressive. In reality, its about a 20% chance -if that- that one of your vaunted Su-30s would even get within range -much less see first- to score a kill against a stealth aircraft. Over the course of 30 years, only 1 stealth aircraft has been shot down. Statistics tell me a whole different story compared to your analysis.
  11. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/sat/cto/4473608317.html Just in case anyone is hankerin' for their B-17 in any way, shape or form.
  12. If you take anything seriously on Global Security, then you should find the time to go see a psychologist. Seriously...
  13. One of these days, people will look back on this thread and realize how stupid it is. From the great words of Captain Camparelli - "5th generation mafia, sir".
  14. You might want to recheck your dates. F-117 was possibly used in Grenada, and used in Panama in 1989.
  15. How is it different from religion? I know lots of people who take a believe it or not approach when it comes to testing theories.

  17. Oh yeah...been there a while now. At least we know these were taken in game now...
  18. MSI and Gigabyte are both known to do the exact same thing. Honestly, you get what you pay for in motherboards.
  19. Not sure if eSATA is faster than USB 3.0, but its still pretty fast. You can get a USB 3.0 hub and get more functionality out of it. I bought a 10 port USB 3 hub off newegg a few months ago and havent looked back. Id go with the Asus and the extra SSD.
  20. You have to factor in the amount of time it takes to service each and every aircraft. 200 similar aircraft, no matter how long it takes to ready, takes less time to ready than 600 aircraft of different types. Then there is the training, types of ordnance those airframes can hold, parts interchangability...cannibalizing one airframe thats down can help a whole fleet maintain readiness.
  21. Ive got 3 of these... http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/monitors/led/LS27A550HS/ZA
  22. Every time I click the trim button, the stick forces itself to the rear a significant amount. This is as of DCS 1.2.8.27529.Was not an issue prior to this patch. Edit- it does this in every helicopter. client-20140513-193429.trk
  23. No more HDR. I hope its gone and it stays gone.
