That's really well put. Rep to you. edit: "You can't give reputation for this post" Long live communist Russia!

I'm happy to help as well. It'll have to wait until post patch, but I enjoy setting up training missions and just having some fun learning a few things.

This isn't the first or last thread with those exact words in it. The common thread to them all? They all end up deleted and sent to Siberian salt mines. I'm still in awe that ED sent the code to Steam already. If there was someone in charge of marketing, I'm sure they'd be fired once they introduce hundreds of thousands of people to a product that doesn't work. I couldn't be more frustrated with the lack of support from ED. But moreover, it's been clear that the project management from the get go has been abysmal. I love this game. But I think it's complete BS that ED is holding on to my money while I can't play it. This is a final product. Not a beta. I had no complaints when the beta didn't do something perfectly, but I'm literally in awe of how poor the released product and follow on support is.

I find I end up placing static objects on hills too small to warrant a contour line as well. If there is a way around it, I haven't found it.
-
I must have missed that. I'm looking forward to being able to fly the 'hawg again. Let's hope they've got a fix out soon.
-
Agreed. I'm pretty happy about this.
-
Exactly the same for me. Beta versions were quite stable in comparison. I'm getting similar frame rates even when there's a lot of stuff going on as well.
-
The fact that the guys aren't answering the customer support emails because they're too busy trying to get the software stable isn't a viable excuse when we're dealing with a released product. It seems to me like doing it right in the first place would have mitigated a lot of these issues.

I hate to admit it, but I bought this machine specifically to play DCS: A-10 on. i7 950 @ 3.06 Ghz (stock) X58 Sabretooth Mobo. GTX 470 6 GB RAM (PC 12800 DDR3) Win 7 64-bit. (I think the i7 technology really gets that 'DCS has stopped responding' message up really quickly, which is nice.) Pretty close, I think I just would like to know that ED knows that a lot of people are having problems and a solution is in the works. Today was the first day I'd heard of the incoming patch and it's only as a result of this thread. I'm a realist, I know there isn't going to be perfection on the inital release, but a simple. "Thanks for your money, we're working on getting you back in the air soonest" would be nice. Like I said. I love the sim, I just wish I could fly it again.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a shot.

Tried that.

I really miss flying the A-10C. I haven't been able to fly since the release product came out. I've troubleshot, formatted my PC, re-installed DCS on a brand new machine with up to date drivers and watched the sim CTD every time I score a kill. (Okay, not every time but probably 1 in 5 kills scores a CTD). I've watched many posts, much like this one be deleted by forum moderators once they got out of hand. I really really REALLY want to love this sim. I just can't until it's stable for me. I've done everything I can except wait for the next patch. ED: You've done almost everything exactly right with the aircraft, the physics, the weapons modeling. Just please focus on making sure we can all enjoy the finished product. We're all here because we like your product and we want you to succeed but please keep us up to date on bug fixes and patches. Thank you for not immediately deleting this post.

Hi all, Regardless of how I set the graphics options in the menu, my cockpit res is always low and the textures are low (if not very low) as well. I'll capture some screen shots once I have the time. I haven't yet uninstalled the betas which may be causing the issue, but it seems counter-intuitive that that would be the issue. My rig: Intel i7 950 @ 3.06Ghz, Nvidia GTX 470, 6GB RAM, Win 7 64-bit (The betas all ran flawlessly, but I've been having some serious trouble with the release Numerous CTDs and graphic bugs) Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

how are toe brakes configured in axis tune?
Chris CDN replied to hannibal's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Try setting the axis Joy Y and Joy Z to the toe brakes instead on JoyRY and JoyRZ -
My Youtube channel. Lots more videos coming in the next couple of days.

Just a wee fire. No big deal. I probably could have saved the tires, but I had to be doing mach three in order to keep the machine stable.

A couple of questions re. JTAC in Mission Editor
Chris CDN replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
re: Question iii. I've been able to have a Predator sparkle for me in a simple mission I made. He will only do it at night though. I know this is of limited help, but there isn't a lot of gen on the subject just yet. -
I had it happen to me once as well. I believe the cause was some 'wobble' as the airplane was doing about 110 knots. Not enough for me to pull back on the stick but enough to buffet the aircraft. Any chance your takeoff could have been the result?

TM Warthog HOTAS Button Overview
Chris CDN replied to Nickhawk's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Good initiative. Thank you. -
I'd easily pay twice the price for DCS: A-10C. That being said, I'm likely spending the $500 for the TM Warthog HOTAS and a few grand on a shiny new rig to run the sim at max. Thus, after spending $2,500 on hardware the $60 is largely an afterthought. Vote with your money though, if you're not interested in it...don't buy it. I for one will be lining up for the next module cash in hand.

Beautiful! Keep up the good work. Those models look amazing.
