  1. So the hornet loses almost everything if no generators are online, which gives me the idea that the whole MC, DDI, INS, GPS, etc. is using AC power. But that doesn't sound right since most complex electric systems with micro chips and computers need DC power. So I'm asking here about the real hornet, how does it provide that needed DC power to these systems if the generators are only providing AC power (obviously). If it came from the essential or 28vdc bus then the batteries should make those systems work, but it doesn't. So how did they do to overcome this? I can't solve this question with NATOPS, there is limited information about what the different buses are sending current to. Thanks.
  2. Hey Gripesy! Yeah I know, but the simulation should be correct IMHO. For the price I paid at least.
  3. Yeah, I know about that procedure. I read in many papers about comparing both and having the pilot always cross checking that both matched. If you say that's not a thing in real naval aviation, then it surely must not be. I didn't really want to get much into this as it wasn't the point in the first place. Only thing I wanted to clarify is the wrong implementation of ICLS and IFLOS that the SC has. That's all.
  4. I love that as well! Fortunate I'm a real one, and I have a lot of respect for G B. Maybe not so much for some other smart ones like you. If you're going to write, try to make it something that could help someone, or at least that won't make you look like a toxic kid.
  5. Whats even worse, is that the "automatic gain" is useless at the moment, it doesn't compensate anything.
  6. Nevermind, not going to get into an argument here. Surely you know better. Thanks.
  7. If it behaves like a FD then the needles comparison pilots do on each approach (they compare ICLS and ACLS to determine system accuracy) would be useless (as one would be providing relative position and the other one would be providing pitch and roll directions). I see how you would take it like a FD, but it is just the DMC in action.
  8. Yeah, this bug is still on OB. I don't know why they keep putting things as fixed when they are not fixed, not a clue.
  9. Exactly, ACLS has DMC (Deck Motion Compensation), something like the predictive thing you said. The ICLS is raw beam BUT it draws an earth referenced angle so it is stabilized by being mounted on a torsion bar like I said before. IFLOS is also mounted on a torsion bar. Both things are incorrectly modeled in DCS.
  10. My man, that is really not true. You must be mixing things up, like flight director or something. But be assured that is not how they work.
  11. Huh? Even confusing ACLS with ICLS will not make that statement true.
  12. I really don't think a miscalibration should make that one instrument shows the opposite to the other. A miscalibration would show same state but in a different degree, but definitely not opposite indication. Additionally IFLOS in the supercarrier isn't stabilized at all like it is IRL and also like it is in the old Stennis, big flaw that I hope they fix soon. ICLS should also draw an earth reference angular beam as being mounted on a torsion bar, also not coded correctly in supercarrier.
  13. It is not a hornet related bug but I just saw that you cannot kill the AI anymore. That's why they broke the radar, we won't be using it.
  14. There will be, sooner than we all think. It will be a healthy world for all of us.
  15. It doesn't really say that, I read it full. But I see your point, although it seems more like trying to justify a bug rather than proving it wrong. I don't see any evidence that makes the DCS SLAM behave like it does. I think it should be looked at.
  16. I wonder what would come up if ED made an NPS survey. I was never, not one time asked by ED something about what I feel as a customer. Maybe if they did they will realize how bad things are working out for them. Some day competition will be here and profits will change and they could regret all these years of poor management.
  17. Wait! What? The SLAM has a GPS updating function for the INS, so what you stated isn't valid.
  18. How much rage here. What a sad community.
  19. If they took more time between beta and beta we will be stuck with dozens of bugs for whatever time they choose. So, for me no, better get the job done and not break stuff and wait more.
  20. I feel the same as well as many others, but ED isn't famous for allowing customers to speak their frustrations, so take it easy with these comments.
  21. Yeah, and this has happened more than a dozen times now.
  22. Hornet's radar is cursed since day 1. It has been and still is the most unreliable radar in the whole DCS universe. The squad just doesn't fly it anymore for AA.
  23. What's funny, is that the bug was for SP too...
