  1. To be fair, this was a big concern with my previous PC (I got a nice upgrade for Christmas!). That PC had 32GB of DDR3, with an AMD FX 8120 and a GTX 980 GPU. Syria in single player was ok, but multiplayer was almost a lost cause with that PC, even after dropping the graphics settings. The new one is handling Syria and Normandy 2.0 with no problem
  2. Just noticed with this latest Open Beta (2.8.4.38947) that there are spawn points at Pagan Airstrip now! Lot of pretty islands to look at in the Huey.
  3. Saw the same thing last night. Lot of numbers that weren't there in previous patches are there now with the current one (2.8.4.38947). There are 7 new sets of numbers on the aircraft: One on the nose Nose gear door Lower fuselage above the nose gear Aileron Fuselage just forward of the horizontal stabs (overlaps where it would say NAVY or MARINES) Two on the tail I have the extra ones circled in the screenshot below. Seeing the same on both custom and default liveries.
  4. Another fun thing is you can click on the little colored squares on the right hand canopy rail. There are 4 colors; green, white, red, yellow. If you click a color, the pilot will load that color flare into the flare gun. If I recall, you get 3 shots of each color.
  5. Before night vision goggles, most of these would be backlit in red as that color impacts your natural night vision the least. Our D model still has the red lights. Interestingly in the Tomcat's life, when the crews started getting more air to ground missions, and then got NVG's, the cockpit lighting had to get changed from red to green to be NVG compatible.
  6. @Biggus Here you go. As a bonus, I'm able to get a clear shot as our ejection seats are out right now. :)
  7. @Czechnology I posted some shots in a thread recently for the simpit builders. These are from a USAF hard wing D model. Here's an eye level shot of the WSO cockpit looking forward. There anything in particulat you're looking for?
  8. If I am not mistaken, the backseat is only calling out checklist items and safety observing. There’s no fuel totalizer in the back like in the F-14.
  9. Didn’t see that post before, thanks for linking that!
  10. That makes perfect sense, thank you! Is that so one can "toss" the bomb from a bit further out?
  11. Good evening, Doing some GBU-12 practice, and self lasing with the TGP. Been a while since I've done this and am puzzled on some HUD symbology I hadn't seen before. I'm in CCRP mode, and it doesn't seem to matter if I am on a SPI or markpoint. I see symbology that looks more like JDAM, where there is a range caret and staple on the right side of the HUD. Going with that there is also a circle that appears when it is "in range", that also coincides with the count down timer, and eventually flashes. I am not sure what all this symbology indicates, it isn't called out in the manual or Chucks Guide. It certainly isn't the drop cue. After that I get another countdown timer, with the solution cue on the bomb fall line as expected. So two questions. What is all of the extra symbology, and why does the weapon release button also fire the laser when dropping?
  12. I believe that is normal. The two plates on the sides are replaceable, as is the top fairing when it is retracted. I’m not sure how often they are replaced, and that is likely on a “as needed” basis. Our Phantom was built in 1964 so she has definitely seen time on the boom!
  13. My pleasure!
  14. The F-4E was exclusively an Air Force variant and as such featured dual controls. So @Gianky, to answer your question, yes you can fly from the backseat. On the subject of refueling, we rolled out the hydraulic cart again today to leak check the utility system, and we cycled the air refuel door a couple times. For those that have never seen it, here is what it looks like:
  15. Was flying on our squadron server last night and noticed that there were a few TOW missiles that did not despawn after hitting the ground. Instead they continued flying straight down and below the terrain, 35 miles underground as of this screenshot and still going. Track file is way too big so I'll try to get a short track later today. Open Beta 2.8.2.35759 null
  16. One thing I’d like to add is I got to talk with one of our pilots for the F-4D that I help work on, and asked about refueling. He flew both the F-4 and F-16 during his Air Force career. He mentioned that between the two, the F-4 was more difficult. One of the reasons being is that the refuel socket pops up out of the airframe, which he said you had to fly more precisely than later aircraft with the recessed slipway door.
  17. Made this video that covers engine management in the Mustang. It's mostly geared to those considering or are new to the P-51, though has good information for all:
  18. Comprehensive engine management video for those new to the Mustang:
  19. Huey has four options for that, all selectable in the Mission Editor (all dual control aircraft seem to have these options). 1 - Always Ask - Non-flying pilot can request control, pilot flying can accept or deny the request. 2 - Equal Responibility - Either pilot can take control at any time (default key is C). To me this option is more for well coordinated crew. 3 - Pilot Priority - Copilot can request control, pilot can grant control but retains the capability to immediatly take back control at any time without the request. 4 - Copilot Priority - Same as number three but the Copilot has the ability to take control at anytime, Pilot must request control first. I imagine the F-4 would likely have these as options.
  20. The last two were released in the afternoon from what I remember.
  21. It's always worth the wait for the 202x and Beyond video!
  22. To go along with that, here's what the view in the back seat is like. This is looking forward at eye level in a D model.
  23. That Discord link is broken. I did have a question about adding ATIS to a mission. I have the sound files loaded properly into the miz file. I'm getting hung up on scripting. I made a script using what was posted on the Github as a template. It always faults out during the mission load with: I have a trigger set to engage at mission start to run the script file. Here is the script I typed up:
  24. That's very similar to what is in our D model. Ours also has the LABS panel just above it:
