Hi Beldin, if I remember well, the SAM missiles should fire and track correctly their targets if you add the "Patriot str" line to the GT.Sensors line in the LUA file. It would be very nice indeed to have also the catapult camera working Below are two screenshots, watching the deck from the AIRBOSS seat And I do like to watch the activity on the deck My last test included 12 Rafale M, plus one Rafale NOUNOU tanker, plus one E2-D AWACS launching and recovering. This is some kind of a large scale training scenario, isn'it ? It took some time to execute, but was a real pleasure to watch Thanks for your work

Yes, I'll keep testing and keep you informed. It's a real pleasure to watch all these aircraft operating on the R91 Charles de Gaulle. Very good news for the Clem also, thanks Another nice add-on to the Charles de Gaulle, is an addition to the LUA file by Marroux, by which you can watch all the activity on the deck from the AIRBOSS seat on the upper deck of the island (using Left Alt + F9). The link is in the following thread (scroll down to the message sent on August 28, 2022 by Marroux) : I think the add-on is inapropriately called "LSO View", but is in fact the AIRBOSS View. Enjoy !....

Hi Beldin, thanks for your very nice work, expanding the launching and landing capabilities of the R91 Charles de Gaulle. As you mentioned, the very good news is that it's now possible to launch for example 12 Rafale M, plus one Rafale NOUNOU tanker, plus one E-2D AWACS, without any problem if starting cold on the ramp. But there is some confusion and aircraft blocking each other, when starting on the ramp with engines running). Also, as you mentioned previously, I observed that when 6 Rafale had landed on the deck (with 2 intermediate wave-offs), the following 3 Rafale landed correctly.... and disappeared. Sigh.... BUT, I then observed a very bizarre event : the Rafale NOUNOU tanker landed next..... and parked, in an odd 7th position : that is, it parked in the wrong way (see screenshots below). Next, the E2-D AWACS landed and disappeared.... I have no clue of what happened, but maybe this may help to find out and help solving the landing problems in the near future. Further, I don't remember the Supercarrier Mod having that 6 aircraft landing limitation, but I may be wrong here. Thanks for your excellent work !

Many thanks for your work, Beldin ! This boosts the carrier playability and the Navy aircraft tremendously You are an expert Note : Google Translate makes an excellent work indeed, and it's funny to see that the "cat" (catapult, here) is correctly translated into the "chat" in French (tne animal)......

Hi Beldin, this is my first test of your nice Mod concerning the aircraft cat launches. Below is a screenshot of a 4 Rafale flight that has just landed on the R91 Charles de Gaulle deck. As you can see, they park with their nose wheel and radar cone crossing the red and white landing safety line. See my screenshot below. It would be nice to push their parking slot well back towards the edge of the deck, where there is a lot of free space. Maybe 5 meters back would be OK. What do you think ? Thanks

Hi Striker, Yes, there is a small Mod which consists of text lines with the names of the aircraft that you want to make carrier capable, but if memory recalls, only for landing on the carrier deck. The lines, that you can add and edit easily look like : "make_aircraft_carrier_capable('A-29B',{"AircraftCarrier","AircraftCarrier With Tramplin"})" It works for WWII aircraft for sure, but I didn't test it for modern fighters. The name of the Mod is "Carrier Based Aircraft". Unfortunately, I don't remember where you can download it... Maybe someone can help to locate it. Fly low...

Thanks Beldin. Indeed, the location of the catapults on the French carriers forbids simultaneous landings and cats operations. So your plan is absolutely correct. As for the VSTOL aircraft, I had problems landing the Harrier on the L61 a while ago. It would land behind the end of the deck. But I didn't try again since long. Looking forward for your Mod, many thanks for your work

Hi Beldin, you are right, the French and US Navy can now operate their aircraft on both carriers. As far as I know, the Rafale is the only foreign fighter authorised to do so. Specific trials and joint exercises see them operate off each other for limited periods of time. But their normal squadrons are such as I mentioned previously. Also, the F-18 was tested on the Charles de Gaulle long ago, and had some suporters in the French Navy, before the Rafale was chosen. Indeed, both Navies cooperate and practice regularly common procedures and training. Further, part of the French Navy candidates are sent to the US for their initial and on board pilot qualifications in a comprehensive cursus. Below are two screenshots showing my parking slots for the Clemenceau and Charles de Gaulle to free the landing area and avoid 'fooled deck' signals and unwanted wave-offs.... Looking forward to use your Mod. Thanks for your work

Excellent ! Very impressive work. As you probably know, the only aircraft operating on the Clemenceau R98 carrier were the Etendard, Super Etendard, Crusader and Alizé aircraft. The only ones on the Charles de Gaulle R91 were the Super Etendard and Rafale, and are now the Rafale and Hawkeye. This might somehow simplify the aircraft lua files update process.... There are also in the DCS User Files archive some static mission templates for the US Navy carriers, for specific trap, launch, and mixed operations. Looking forward to your Mod. Thanks !

Hi Beldin, very nice work you have done with the parking slots and the aircraft (I love that F-8 Crusader....). Will you share your files ? One question that was raised in this forum earlier is the availability of the parking slots when aircraft are landing on the deck. It has been mentioned that when they park after landing, they might be directed to free slots, but then interfere with the red painted safety line of the landing area. This triggers automatically wave-offs of all subsequent landing aircraft. Have you managed to deal with this ? Anyway, I'm looking forward to use your excellent work ! Thanks !....

Hi, Yes, the Super Etendard has been shared by the Cuesta Bros as a playable Mod since long It's a very fun strike fighter to fly, with a nice payload, including the Exocet missile It's bundled with the Clemenceau aircraft carrier Have look here to download them : Many thanks again to the Cuesta Bros for their excellent work ! Enjoy !

Ok, I'll try that, thanks As I understand it, they fire torpedoes only when surfaced, is this correct ? thanks for your help

Thanks Hawkeye, I'll try the Santa Fe Will be very interesting for naval warfare.... Any good news concerning the PTB ? Thanks.....

Hi All, I have one simple question concerning the subs : which ones are supposed to be able to fire torpedoes, when defined as AI in the ME ? So far, I was unable to experiment that in my missions Thanks for your help
