OK, thanks for that Currenthill. Reading you, I discover the DCS limitation concerning the invulnerable surface to air missiles.... Many thanks for all your Mods ! -

Fantastic Mods, Currenthill ! Your ships, as well as your missiles, tanks and infantry are absolutely amazing ! IMHO, your superior quality contributions and comprehensive sharing to the DCS arena is unequalled ! I have one question concerning the Chinese HHQ-9B long range SAM missile. I have observed in my missions that one single HHQ-9B launched from a Type 052D or 055 Destroyer can kill an E-3D AWACS flying 120 nm away at FL350 That seems a performance, indeed The E-3D dives desperately down to 400 ft ASL, but still can't escape the missile that flew up to 75000 ft, before hitting the very low flying AWACS most of all, neither the stock DCS Patriot and NASAAM, nor the Swedish Iris simultaneously active sites can intercept it.... A nearby (80 nm) modernized Arleigh Burke and Ticonderoga fired also a single SM-6, without success. So, I'm very puzzled about the way to counter that missile. Your help is welcome. Many thanks for all your super Mods ! -
Hello, many thanks for all your superb Mods Would it be possible to put back in service the Marine high visibility dark grey livery of the Ecureuil (See your screen shot below.), which I'd like to use as Pedro with the CDG and Clemenceau carriers ? It has been currently replaced by a light grey version only. Many thanks

Hi Striker, very good news (although Le Redoutable never had anti-ship missiles, as far as I know....)

Hi All, This might be of interest to the Sub community. As you may have read it, the last Open Beta 2.8.2.35632 released on January 25th states among its new features : "Fixed inability for submarines to attack ships." This could be very good news ! I haven't tested it yet. But any comment and experience is welcome. Enjoy !

Excellent News for the parking of up to 10 to 12 aircraft, and using the forward deck parking slots! I look forward to test that You are an expert ! Concerning the AIRBOSS View, it's not my work, but Marroux's. You just have to add the text lines at the very end of the LUA file, and it works without a hitch. Also, I've come to a taxiing problem when a Rafale tanker was parked on slot no. 1., and 4 Rafale M on the other slots, plus an E-2D. Below are the screenshots, where a first Rafale M (out of 4) was launched. Then, the tanker started to taxi, but was stopped by the Rafale on spot no. 2. Then, the E-2D started to taxi, and was in turn stopped by the tanker.... All the launch process was then defnitely stopped. Sigh. I guess this could be avoided by pushing back the parking slots to the edge of the deck.

All this is very good news ! Thanks, all your tests get the problems more clear and help solve them very nicely ! Note : I don't get what you mean by : "If it is part of the model/static deck crew the plane despawns after landing"... Some of the planes disappear a few seconds after they catch a wire correctly. This is mystery to me....

Hi Beldin, excellent news concerning the TO/landing on the Clemenceau. Concerning the Charles de Gaulle, I would be glad to test the specific LUA file for operating only the Rafale, Etedard, Super Etendard (SEM) and E-2D. Concerning the NOUNOU tanker, I read somewhere that you can reduce the wingspan and wing area in order to park on smaller spots, without affecting the real size of the Mod. That might be a interesting point. Although it does not solve the no. 7 parking problem. Well very good work anyway. Thanks a lot for your dedication

Hi Beldin, if I remember well, the SAM missiles should fire and track correctly their targets if you add the "Patriot str" line to the GT.Sensors line in the LUA file. It would be very nice indeed to have also the catapult camera working Below are two screenshots, watching the deck from the AIRBOSS seat And I do like to watch the activity on the deck My last test included 12 Rafale M, plus one Rafale NOUNOU tanker, plus one E2-D AWACS launching and recovering. This is some kind of a large scale training scenario, isn'it ? It took some time to execute, but was a real pleasure to watch Thanks for your work

Yes, I'll keep testing and keep you informed. It's a real pleasure to watch all these aircraft operating on the R91 Charles de Gaulle. Very good news for the Clem also, thanks Another nice add-on to the Charles de Gaulle, is an addition to the LUA file by Marroux, by which you can watch all the activity on the deck from the AIRBOSS seat on the upper deck of the island (using Left Alt + F9). The link is in the following thread (scroll down to the message sent on August 28, 2022 by Marroux) : I think the add-on is inapropriately called "LSO View", but is in fact the AIRBOSS View. Enjoy !....

Hi Beldin, thanks for your very nice work, expanding the launching and landing capabilities of the R91 Charles de Gaulle. As you mentioned, the very good news is that it's now possible to launch for example 12 Rafale M, plus one Rafale NOUNOU tanker, plus one E-2D AWACS, without any problem if starting cold on the ramp. But there is some confusion and aircraft blocking each other, when starting on the ramp with engines running). Also, as you mentioned previously, I observed that when 6 Rafale had landed on the deck (with 2 intermediate wave-offs), the following 3 Rafale landed correctly.... and disappeared. Sigh.... BUT, I then observed a very bizarre event : the Rafale NOUNOU tanker landed next..... and parked, in an odd 7th position : that is, it parked in the wrong way (see screenshots below). Next, the E2-D AWACS landed and disappeared.... I have no clue of what happened, but maybe this may help to find out and help solving the landing problems in the near future. Further, I don't remember the Supercarrier Mod having that 6 aircraft landing limitation, but I may be wrong here. Thanks for your excellent work !

Many thanks for your work, Beldin ! This boosts the carrier playability and the Navy aircraft tremendously You are an expert Note : Google Translate makes an excellent work indeed, and it's funny to see that the "cat" (catapult, here) is correctly translated into the "chat" in French (tne animal)......

Hi Beldin, this is my first test of your nice Mod concerning the aircraft cat launches. Below is a screenshot of a 4 Rafale flight that has just landed on the R91 Charles de Gaulle deck. As you can see, they park with their nose wheel and radar cone crossing the red and white landing safety line. See my screenshot below. It would be nice to push their parking slot well back towards the edge of the deck, where there is a lot of free space. Maybe 5 meters back would be OK. What do you think ? Thanks
-
Hi Striker, Yes, there is a small Mod which consists of text lines with the names of the aircraft that you want to make carrier capable, but if memory recalls, only for landing on the carrier deck. The lines, that you can add and edit easily look like : "make_aircraft_carrier_capable('A-29B',{"AircraftCarrier","AircraftCarrier With Tramplin"})" It works for WWII aircraft for sure, but I didn't test it for modern fighters. The name of the Mod is "Carrier Based Aircraft". Unfortunately, I don't remember where you can download it... Maybe someone can help to locate it. Fly low...
