ADMIRAL189'S CORNER - INCOMING SHIP MODELS
toan replied to Admiral189's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Thanks, and Merry Christmas to you all !....... -
I think the expert here is Joey45
-
Yes, I agree, I think the path followed by the aircraft after landing on the deck depends on : 1- the wire they catched, 2 - the routes defined in the LUA file, 3- the next free slot position I watched a big difference in the way they reach the parking slot depending on the wire they catched. All this is definedion the various routes points. I know Joey45 is an expert at this. He has made some good job with various carriers, including the Hermes. I think he works with the Model Viewer. But my approach is really a time consuming trial and error process modifying the points coordinates in the Routes LUA file...

The download link is currently down.... Sigh... -
Ok, thanks ! Below is what I get when parking 6 aircraft that landed correctly on the carrier. still WIP Keep the good work on your very nice Mods !
-
Hi, USS Maddox escorting CV-31 I'm fiddling with routes on the deck to have landed aircraft in their parking slot, still WIP and only tested with the A-4 yet to test with the F-4 I also noticed that when the aircraft misses the wires and there is a bolter, it sinks into the deck and goes around for another circuit (see scree below)

Hi, There are satic templates for Super Carrier configurations activated by triggers and the F10 menu now, that can activate clean carrier decks, or clear landing decks only, or mixed cat launches and trap operations simultaneously. The triggers have to be activated manually, but this is quite comfortable if you aircraft operations are not totally random, which is presumably the case IRL See : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3330966/ Enjoy !

Hi, I forgot to mention that I use DCS OpenBeta 2.8.8.43704, because I didn't want to update to 2.9, considering the many bug reports Well, my F-4 with 25% fuel and 4 AIM did trap now ! Thanks ! I'm currently tweaking the EssexRunwaysandRoutes.lua file, because the F-4 parks partly over the deck after landing (see snapshot below) and the routes to the parking slots sometimes go outside the deck, WIP. Also, would it be possible to make the 2 small navigation radars on the mast to rotate ? That's a very realistic detail Very nice Mods anyway ! Many thanks for your work !

Hi, I'm using the CV-31 and USS Maddox, and think they are really great assets. I am testing VSN F-4 and community A-4E-C Mods, as AI only planes. Both launch correctly from both cats, if they are in a single unit group. However, none can trap on the carrier. They systematically get a WONSUX grade from the LSO ("Wave Off Non Set Up in the groove"). I've no idea why this is, because they all have the correct landing configuration (speed, and landing gear, flaps, hook all extended) when approaching the carrier. Any help much appreciated. Very nice work, indeed !

Yes, of course, I get that, but imagine a mission where you only need 3 Mods on the Red side vs. 4 Mods on the Blue side... I have several of this kind of missions. You'll nevertheless have to enable all the Red and Blue sides Mods. That's approx. 15 + 10 Mods.... in order to avoid a few specific Mod's texture problems... The resource optimization is not standard here... Well, my 2 cents... CH Mods are amazing, anyway ! -

Hi Currenthill, All your work is definitely amazing ! A potential problem I see with this approach is that sharing textures could mean missing textures for some assets, when you only need some Mods for your missions, and don't want to load all the countries' specific Mods. Thanks -

Hi, although I haven't used it myself yet, there seem to be a very good MH-60R helicopter Mod that implements ASW using MK46 unguided and MK54 homing torpedoes. See : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cWuCRfE_Npqpx3HPwlp4XY5AeMcj6zzL The Mod was updated recently (November 30th), as well as its manual to work with DCS 2.9. This Mod has a surface search radar, a sophisticated dipping sonar and dropped sonobuoys to search submarines underwater also. It features a armement console, etc. It can also be used for CSAR ops, with a diver dropped by winch and cable, that you can direct to the rescue target. Also an auto-hover feature, laser aiming, etc. The M54 homing torpedoes, once dropped, run along a spiral track to search for the submarine, which has been located by triangulation, using the sonobuoys dropped by the console operator on the armement console. Has anybody used that Mod already ? Enjoy ! -

Hi Enoy, there are 2 different versions of the Sea Ceptor (aka CAMM "Common Anti-Air Modular Missile"). The initial CAAM, which was developed by MBDA for the British armed forces, includes a naval version called "Sea Ceptor", fitted on the type 23 frigates, and a CAMM-ER developed later for the Italian Navy. Their characteristics are different (see details here : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Anti-Air_Modular_Missile and https://www.seaforces.org/wpnsys/SURFACE/Sea-Ceptor-CAMM.htm). As far as I can see, Currenthill implemented the initial CAMM version for his type 26 Mod, whereas Admiral used the CAMM-ER one for the type 23 frigates. Their mass (99 or 160 kg) and ranges (25 or 45 km) are different. That's about it. I don't know if the type 23 are retrofitted with the CAMM-ER version. Enjoy ! -

Hi, you may have a look at this Mod, from Aplion, released early September, and concerning the Greek and Turkish versions of the MEKO frigate, including the Barbaros ship : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3332849/ -

Hi Marroux, nice shot ! I must say that because the ships wake is what can be seen first from very far, I always use your lods.ship_wake updates to have a better effect in DCS, from my point of view. See my previous screenshots. Thanks Marroux ! -

Hi, As far as I know, Damientrix has produced many superb French helicopters (Alouette 2 and 3, Dauphin, Fennec, Super Frelon, Puma, Panther, NH90), and some trucks, buggies, pickups, and motorcycles, with many liveries. There are many trucks and tanks also in the French Pack, but I don't know if it is compatible with the last DCS versions. Enjoy -
