Hi there, Just wondering if it was possible to add an older sidewinder to the Harrier for use on a dogfighting server I host. I had a look at the .LUA files but without any success. Cheers.

Thanks for confirming this still worked, when I looked into it further I realised the CTLD file I had was out of date. Cheers

Hi, Can anyone confirm if Jtac autolase in CTLD is still working since the 2.91 update. I have set it up following the guides. I have the Jtac status message in the mission but no weapons track onto the designated target. Ive tried GBU's and Mavericks with no joy from several different approaches. I also tried using a ground based Jtac pointing at the target and a predator drone without success. Cheers.

Hi guys, I know enough about the mission editor, some scripting and running a DCS server. But, I know very little about modding. I dont run any integrity check on my server and I have had some players ask me about the possibility of cheating. I know that on the low fidelity modules you can modify the unit loadouts .lua to put for example a AIM-54 on a Mig-29 etc etc. If someone did that it would be obvious in the SL-mod post in chat. My question is could someone modify a current missiles performance without anyone knowing, alter its speed, acceleration or counter measure resistance? Like take a R-27R and make it perform like a R-27ER or even turn it into a Fox-3 missile. Could a modification like this client side actually be usable server side? Is any form of underhand cheating like this even possible? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Does anyone know the control for the WSO to IFF targets??
-
This has happened to me too, I lost the F-14, FA-18, F-86, Flaming Cliffs and the Persian Gulf Map. I have opened a ticket with ED.
-
Yeah thats the problem, i'm multicrew in multiplayer. The radar is on for the pilot but shows as off for the WSO. If I am alone in the plane and jump in the back it works. I have not been able to work out how to turn it on in the back when the pilots seat is occupied. Thanks for the reply.

Hi guys, Ive got my head around using the Tpod from the back seat and setting up the weapons. For some reason I cant get control of the A2A radar. Has anyone managed to do this, what is the secret handshake Cheers

fixed Updated DCS - "Authorization failed"

I'm still having trouble on error 502. My server install launched ok though. -
fixed ME - Crashes when copying and pasting units

This is a log from a mission in Syria, no mods in the mission file or in my saved games folder, same thing. For me it is effecting units that are either combined red or blue. Mig-21's set to USSR in a Caucasus mission are not showing the problem. dcs.log -

I already tried that, I have a mission version with no mod aircraft, my DCS saved game folder had none installed either. The same problem still occurred. Exactly as Kanelbolle describes in the post above. -

fixed ME - Crashes when copying and pasting units
Bossco82 replied to Kanelbolle's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
I'll check this out on the mission I was having trouble with. Thanks for looking into this. After checking mine still crashes and I checked the numbering. I have a set of Combined red aircraft, Mig-29, SU-27, J-11 and JF-17, they rotate. I had x16 single units, 1 of them is at the start and the other 15 are late activated. They are triggered when the unit before is destroyed. So destroy #2, #3 is activated. I wanted to add some units taking them up to x30. I tried to copy #16 a Mig-29S under Pontiac 2-1, instant hour glass and crash. This is in my modern mission. I did the same edit to my Cold War mission before the update, I also expanded my WW2 mission last week which has lots of B-17's, a lot more units. Not a problem, no crashes. I hope this adds some more info to get the problem solved. This problem is also effecting units of four set to "client". Its going to be a lot more work adding new modules to existing missions with this problem. -
fixed ME - Crashes when copying and pasting units

I checked on a modern, cold war and WW2 mission. Its everything ground units included. 9 out of 10 attempts to copy & paste a group causes DCS to stop working with a blue circle. DCS simply stops responding. -

Ok glad to know I am not the only one coming across this problem. I have tried the same fixes as Kanelbolle. This is a bit of a problem if your running an online server. -
Mission work in the editor. Crashes the server???
Bossco82 replied to Bossco82's topic in Multiplayer
Thanks for the offer, I fixed it by running a full repair scan on the DCS server software. Don't know what happened but it wouldn't load any map except for Caucasus -
Hi guys, I recently put together a pvp mission using the Syria map. It works fine in the mission editor. It also loads fine in single player, no problem. However when I try to load it in the actual DCS server software which is on its own PC, the mission crashes the server during the loading process. The software wont even load it so you can see the counter. Any help appreciated, cheers.

Yeah I tried limiting the map F-10 views, IE setting it to map only or my A/C. It only limits what an actual aircraft slot player can see on the F-10 map. The spectator still see's everything. I also tried the external view setting, that didnt achieve the result either. It stops another player from looking at the map. Clicking on another players aircraft and hitting F2 for an external view. Thanks for the replies, I know Hoggit has a timeout and Enigma and Growling found a way to simply block the option to. NOT select any aircraft>briefing>fly F-10> hey lads that guy in the helo we cant find, he's over there kinda thing. I have also looked though the SLMod and the Slot Blocker scripts, however I am not the best at editing those files.

Hi Guys, I am getting some problems with players going straight to briefing>fly>F-10 then using it as an Awacs over a Discord comms channel or similar. Its becoming a pain and rather than go straight to kicking/banning them I would rather just remove the option. Is there a .LUA file or script I can use. I would like to either prevent users from going into the spectators F-10 view. Or use a script that has a timeout function Cheers.

Thank you mate most of this is already done. It has also been reported to the UK action fraud department, they were very helpful. The guy I was sharing my mission files with for the DCS server left port 3389 open on my router. It only had access to my server machine so he could restart it if there was a crash. I did not know this could be a security problem. I should have looked into it further, been more responsible about protecting my own machine. This is a mistake I wont forget. The router and its firewall have been reset to defaults, I have the server back up and running. I'm not allowing anyone to have access through my routers firewall anytime soon. Only the ports for the DCS server to run are open. Back ups etc have been made. Thank you for the replies and the messages. As I said up above this forum is a gold mine of useful and helpful people.

No you didn't mate, Intel are still ahead regarding synthetic benchmark clock speeds. Its just in DCS as a whole system. Its pretty even
-
Hi Lange, I thought the same mate, however this left me with a bit of paranoia to be honest. I feel like a plonker now lol!! For anyone reading this I am not an expert on networking security. I was offered advise that sounded legit and I went with it. Don't do that. This forum is a goldmine, you can ask a group. If you get the same answer from different people at the same time. That will probably be legit. Thank you to everyone who replied, my server is back up and ok. With the security flaw fixed.

Thanks Bitmaster, I am not going to pretend to understand all of that. Networking and security has always been something I struggle to fully understand. I must fix this very soon. I wont be allowing any RDP access to my machine anymore. I reset all permissions on my router too. I only have opened what is needed for DCS server and SRS. There was nothing on the machine except the actual DCS server SRS server and Windows 10. So it was easily just reset. A friend donated a new SSD with Windows pre-installed so any infected drive is not in the machine anymore. Bitmaster, this might be a stupid question but they can only infect any USB drives that were physically plugged in at the time right?? I backup to a USB stick and then unplug it and leave it in a cupboard, same with a USB dock for mech drives. I backup and remove so if anything like this happens. I can load those files to a new SSD. One final thing, what does 3389/tcp do? Thanks again for the replies.
