Apache600 Posted April 18, 2019 Author Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) Into the Darkness Download link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3304480/ This mission takes place at night and requires you to safely extract important documents from a recently overrun outpost. You must then return them to a friendly ship. Available aircraft are: A-10A, A-10C, A-10C II, AJS-37, F1-CE, F-5, F-14, F-15, F-16, F-18, JF-17, M-2000, Su-25T, But one player MUST have either an AV-8B, UH-1, Mi-24, AH-64, or Ka-50 to be able to land at the outpost and pick up the documents. The option to reduce the number of enemy ground threats, and make the mission easier, will be available to you via the F10 radio menu for the first 2 minutes of the mission. Another note, the more advanced / capable aircraft that the player picks, will spawn a more difficult enemy aircraft which provides CAP over the target area. -- Briefing At approximately 1530 hours, the enemy launched a massive attack across the Bzipi River; and our forces stationed on the other side were quickly overrun. Many retreated back to Gudauta, but we still have some men who couldn’t escape in time and are now hiding in and among the buildings. When dusk broke, the enemy stopped their advance and bunkered down for the night. This has given us a chance to regroup, and prepare for a counter attack tomorrow morning. But that's not why we're here gentlemen; we're here for something far more important. One of our commanding officers, who was stationed at a road outpost in the town of Lidzava, had earlier in the day received a notebook containing all the logistics data the enemy uses for supporting their war effort. Looks like those rebel spies actually pulled through for once. Now, why they put all this data in a notebook, and not on a computer file, is beyond me. But the problem we face here is that when the outpost was being evacuated, the officer forgot to grab this notebook! So that is our mission tonight, to retrieve that notebook and get it back to one of our ships. We cannot afford to lose the upper hand that this notebook could give us. There is one ray of hope though, a Private Higgins who was assigned to the Road Outpost, and didn’t make it out with the evacuation, had made contact with us via his cell phone. He happens to still be at the Outpost! We brought him up to speed on the situation, and he is more than willing to help us out. Though he said that he would just run the notebook out to whoever is doing the pick-up, as he intends to stay with a few wounded soldiers he is tending to. Our secondary objective is to soften up any enemy forces in the area. This would not only lessen the enemy’s numbers for tomorrow's counter attack, but it would also increase the likelihood that they wouldn’t stumble upon Private Higgins, or any of our other misplaced soldiers, during their search of the neighborhoods. We have also detected 2 enemy ships approaching the peninsula from the west. They will probably be just off the coast in approximately 4 hours. If we can take them out, that would really help cripple the resistance our boys on the ground would have to deal with tomorrow. Good luck gentlemen. And don’t forget your NVG’s - End of Briefing - Update Log: v1.7: 3 F1-CE’s Added Added Link 4 and ACLS to Super Carrier Added TACAN to FARP area Updated some briefing pages v1.6: All Blue flights coalition changed to Blue Task Force Added 2 AH-64’s Removed 1 F-14B Land Added 4 F-14A Carrier Added 2 F-14A Land Fixed multiple issues with text and triggers in Helo package pickup sequence Updated a few Briefing Pages v1.5: 1 UH-1 and 1 Ka-50 switched to Mi-24’s v1.4: Added 3 A-10C II’s (removed 1 A-10A to make room) v1.3: Changed Stennis to Washington Removed extra CVN Moved F-14’s to Washington Added 4 JF-17’s Diversified friendly harbor fleet ships v1.2: Added 4 F-16's v1.1: Fixed tanker script error at mission start. Apache600 Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) Crack the Channel Download Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305550/ This mission takes place in the Persian Gulf. Terrorists have launched an offensive from their stronghold in Iran and are in the process of taking over various islands in the straight. Listen to mission tasking for prioritization of targets. -- Briefing A powerful terrorist group has launched an all out offensive on the Strait of Hormuz. Two days ago they seized the Bandar Lengeh airport on the Iranian coast, as well as Abu Musa Island in the middle of the channel. Yesterday night they took control of Tunb Island, and this morning they landed on the western part of Qeshm Island. Their goal is clear, to force countries to pay to transit the straights. They've already captured a few cargo ships, and are holding them outside of the western port of Abu Musa. These terrorists have a very formidable force, consisting of some assets that even a few 1st world countries would even be jealous of. Nato forces, along with both the Russians and Chinese, have come together to eradicate these hostile forces from the area. Central Command will be overseeing the operation here, and prioritizing threats / mission tasking. Listen in to their orders for current objectives. - End of Briefing - Update Log: v2.0: Added Dynamic Spawns for all original aircraft plus F-15E, OH-58, Ka-50 3, F-5E FC, F1-EE (between Carriers, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island and Kasab). Havadarya has Dynamic spawns for ALL platforms, but there’s no waypoints that will be listed for any. v1.9: Added 2 F1-CE’s Moved F-16’s from Al Ain to Khasab (removed 1 F-16 in the process) Moved M-2000’s from Al Ain to Khasab Changed Tarawa to HMS Invincible Added Link 4 and ACLS to Super Carrier v1.8: All Blue flights coalition changed to Blue Task Force Added 2 AH-64’s v1.7: Added 2 Mi-24’s to Qeshm Added 2 AH-64 Placeholders v1.6: Updated atmospheric conditions for new cloud system. v1.5: Fixed triggers for the very last objective. Apache600 Posted June 15, 2019 Author Posted June 15, 2019 Thanks GT, enjoy the chaos :) Home Fries, I would say 4+ is a good number. There's no "time limit" on anything that would stop the mission from being completed. ... But there are a couple things that could be considered as time pressing. That's a good idea though, to add a "recommended # of players" for each mission blurb. Home Fries Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Thanks, Apache600. We gave it a go last night. Started with 5 aircraft and shortly wound up with 3 (1 tomcat and 2 hornets) due to people dropping-off. We were still able to bag the targets and convoy at WP1, bag the HQ and vehicles at WP2, but with the Tomcat in an A/G role we didn't have the people to fend off the Tu-22s. That's where the fourth aircraft would have been nice, I guess. We continued to press after that (neither of the Nimitz class carriers were hit), but it got difficult when the tomcat went A/A and the SA-2 was preventing us from pushing north to engage bandits. We had a great time, and I look forward to giving it another go. Hopefully we'll keep people online next time. -Home Fries My DCS Files and Skins My DCS TARGET Profile for Cougar or Warthog and MFDs F-14B LANTIRN Guide
Apache600 Posted June 19, 2019 Author Posted June 19, 2019 @Home Fries, with only 3 guys plugging away at it, yeah that would be a bit difficult! I figured once the call of the Tu-22s came, that it would be a all hands on deck and get back to protect the fleet call (land and arm accordingly). There are some pesky SAMs out there which really do bog progress down a bit. Looking forward to hearing how your second round of the mission goes. VAF [136] Striker Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 What do you have to do to complete the scenario? We took out the Neutrashimy and the SA2 but there are no tasks after you take out the Tu22's. Or at least we did not get anything else. Apache600 Posted June 23, 2019 Author Posted June 23, 2019 @75th. You guys got pretty far. There's only one more "mission" after that one. But the one you are on, there's a couple things to complete. The briefing for that segment says to destroy the enemies on the island, and the two ships patrolling around it (you don't actually have to sink the enemy boats). Also, on the F10 map, a marker pops up with additional info. It says: "Destroy all enemy vehicles on the island, including those at the airport and surrounding the town, and also the two ships patrolling the waters around Abu Mesa." Looking at my triggers, to complete this segment you have to Destroy the Stationary Ground Units, a group of patrolling Ground Units, 2 helo's flying around, and damage 3 of the SU-24's on the ramp. Concerning those stationary units, there are 7 small groups on the island. 4 of them spread around various parts, and 3 on the the airport. Thanks for giving the mission a shot. Hope you guys enjoyed it. Hope you guys enjoyed it. It's pretty fun. Homefries and the BVS fly with us so we were having a lot of fun with it but I never saw the message about the island stuff. Could you please check to make sure that it activates. I never looked for the marker you mentioned but we can try it again. We changed the fleet to the Eisenhower and used some scripts but it doesn't affect anything else in the mission. I'll PM you a copy so you can see what we did. We don't use Russian stuff since we're A-10, F-18 and F-14 primarily. Apache600 Posted June 24, 2019 Author Posted June 24, 2019 I took a look at the mission file you sent. I like the placement of the Fleet .... might have to consider moving mine there. Looking closely at the triggers, I can't see any discontinuity. Unfortunately, I think you guys just might have missed something on the island. In a future update, I'll include a update saying "Intel suggests that approximately 20% of the ground forces on the island remain." Or something along those lines just to give the players a sense of where they are in progression. If you go to the Mission Editor, and just "unhide" the Apu Ground Units, Lappers, and light sam defense, you may see a group of targets there that you didn't see when flying. Hope you guys figure out when the cause may have been. I've play tested this mission with a group a while back, and was able to progress to the last objective. Apache600 Posted August 11, 2019 Author Posted August 11, 2019 (edited) Capture the Flag Caucasus Download Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305980/ It's Capture the Flag ... but the most expensive version imaginable! Red Airport = Sochi Blue Airport = Gudauta All aircraft are Air spawn, north of your home airport. The Enemy Airport is Waypoint 1 (Current heading after spawning in), Your Home Airport is Waypoint 2. The first team to 30 points wins. - Capturing the flag is worth 10 points (if you capture it, the flag resets and you can capture it again) The Flag is the colored smoke at the enemy airport. - Shooting down an enemy aircraft grants you 1, 2, or 3 points, depending on the aircraft destroyed. The more sophisticated the aircraft, the more points it's worth. (The Yak-52 and CE II are worth zero points. Use this to your advantage!) Important Gameplay Notes: To pick up the enemy flag, come to a complete stop anywhere within 175 meters (575 feet) of the colored smoke. To drop off the flag, come to a complete stop anywhere within the same distance of the colored smoke at your base. Once your aircraft picks up the enemy flag, an Orange spotting flare will fire from it once every second until you drop the flag off at your base .... or crash. Every airplane is immortal for 60 seconds after spawning. This is to dissuade people from getting behind the enemy spawn locations and shooting them down right away. Aircraft that can carry Air-Air missiles only spawn with 2 IR missiles. And there are only a very small number of additional missiles at your home base. No Air-Ground weapons are allowed. If you want to switch aircraft, you MUST land in your own flag area, and come to a complete stop, before switching aircraft. This is the only way to de-activate the point system so you won't count as being killed. -- Red Aircraft Point System 0 Points: Yak-52 1 Point: Bf-109, Fw-190 A8/D9, I-16, L39ZA, MiG-15, Su-25A, Su-25T 2 Points: Mig-19, MiG-21, F1-CE 3 Points: JF-17, MiG-29A, MiG-29S, Su-27, Su-33. -- Blue Aircraft Point System 0 Points: CE II 1 Point: Spitfire, Mosquito, P-47, P-51, A-10A, A-10C, F-86 2 Points: F-5E, AJS-37, AV-8B 3 Points: F-14B, F-15C, F-16C, F/A-18C, M-2000C - End of Briefing - Update Log: v1.8: Added 2 MiG-15 FCs to the Red Team Added 2 F1-EE’s to the Red Team Added 2 F-4E’s to the Red Team Added 2 MB-339’s to the Blue Team Added 2 F-86 FC’s to Blue Team Added 2 F-5E FC’s to Blue Team Added 2 F-15E’s to Blue Team Fixed “immortal” issue with F1-CE’s Fixed point deduction for death of certain aircraft Added sidewinders to F-16 Switched F-16 gun rounds to High Explosive - Tracer Changed sound file for when a flag is captured v1.7: Added 2 F1-CE’s to Red Team Added 2 MB-339 placeholders to Blue Team v1.6: Added 2 F1-CE’s to Red Team Added 2 MB-339 placeholders to Blue Team v1.5: Added 2 Mosquitos v1.4: Capture the Flag Caucasus 1.4 Updated atmospheric conditions for new cloud system Switched an F-14B to F-14A v1.3: Added 1 of each P-47 models.
