I dont care about Beta, so dl each mont the latest version.

But one question...sorry it has already been asked. What about the next Beta Status download. Would I ned to uninstall the cuurent Version and reinstall, or just install over existing one.

According to activation I guess it´s not needed to reactivat since I did already, isn´t it?

Plans are for an Auto-Updater, akin to a 'patch' if you will. Again, obviously subject to change :)

I have bought the beta, properly registered, got the confirmation mail that I can access the beta forum, but when I try to log into the beta forum I get the following message:

"you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
   
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."
   

Can someone help?

E-mail addresses on DCS site and forums should be the same for correct user recognition. Please make sure you have the same e-mail's and after this go to http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...os=135&lang=en and the push "Request access to a closed Beta forum" button.

Thanks for the quick reply const. The email addresses are indeed the same and the url that you provide is dead. Any other idea?

The link isn't dead, the URL is just wrong. The URL he posted is exactly " http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...os=135&lang=en" The actual URL has some very important information where the ellipsis is.

Here's the correct URL. Make sure you're logged into the DCS site with the same username and password and the same e-mail associated with your account on the ED forums

I never...never ever would get games like this by steam. But cause you wanted to know...surly after the final release. So expect earliest Steam availability in early or better mid 2011.

register for DCS Homepage and get it there...best solution ever and dont care about steam...that sucks anyway. Games like l4d..ok...but not DCS or ArmA2...absolut nogo.

Where did you ordered the game? DCS Webpage? In the purchase order history related to DCS A10, you´ll find a provided link which directly leads you to the open Beta forum.

Impressed by the footage I was about to make an impulse buy today, even it's stilll Beta and not everything fully functional yet. But then I learned that this title is only to acquire by using a credit card.

Where I live we have our own debit card system, in addition I got accounts for paypal, click & buy and a visa prepaid. There is no need for a 'real' cc and I don't plan to apply for one. Of course, I could transfer $60,- to my Visa account but that takes a few days and on a second thought I considered to wait for the release version. Like with the predecessor, Black Shark, which I picked from vendor shelve here.

How about you guys would introduce additional payment options for customers convenience? Aside of credit cards, services like paypal are standard for international distributors nowadays and might help catching people, who just fly by your website and consider an impulse buy.

Russia and paypal dont get allong somehow... I too (and others) have asked and prayed for a paypal posibility (search in this thread, and on this forum), but it's a no-go. Credit card only. Sorry, it affects me too.. I have to get a prepaid cc (wirecard), and then get the warthog.

I would... and did. I ended up paying twice for DCSBS as i prefer the steam platform; updates for me, central hub of info, manuals and multiplayer. Just my personal preference.

So from that, 1.0 release is looking like early 2011 now?

I don't know why you wouldn't want to be on steam its a great platform. No real drm issues plus unlimited installs as long as you log into your account.

As i said, let's not have a steam debate here... it is for some, it isnt for others.

I have no doubt A10C will be released, when final, via Steam as was with Black Shark... but quicker, as they took a while to decide to go with Steam for black shark due to various issues.
