There is no indicator, you have to look outside.

There may not be a gauge but if you have a HOTAS Warthog then just have the switch forward and it should be closed for normal operations. You could also look at the speed brake switch in the cockpit if you dont have one to make sure it is in the forward position as well.....without looking outside.

Just trying to help but I know that isn't an easy cross check or answer,

I can hear a noticeable difference in slipstream noise when the brakes are deployed. This may not apply to everyone as it could depend on your own audio settings. It doesn't tell me the extent of deployment of course.

Hi all, i can hear a diffrence noise when speedbrake is open but i will still have a quick glance left or right just to see

And when you have a butt-kicker you can feel it also in your...

- you know where...!

But if you turn Mirrors on - you wil have a clear "MK1-eyeball" reference without looking back.

I thought this thingy operates on sound ?

Yes correctly!

The change in the noise (while deployed the Speed-brake) always let you fell a little different rumble in your... -you know where.

So I can clearly say with closed eyes if this is only the engines -or also the speed-brakes.

But it gets real hard to determine when also pressing the trigger for the GAU....:)

(You have to know: the noise of the speed-break is very low-frequency about 20-160 Hz - hard to hear with your ears , but you can fell it better with your... -you know what. -when having a buttkicker at your chair.)

And here is the MK1-Eyeball thingy I was talking about: (original size : 3072x1712)

Just don't spend a lot of time looking at the air brakes was on final in the groove and on time. I look back to check the position of the air brakes I look forward and I'm face to face with another A10 coming up off the strip LOL mind you this is single player I was so amazed at what happened I forgot to punch out.

It plugs into your sound card and plays only the very low frequencies. It's sort of like a sub woofer, but since it mounts directly to your chair, it doesn't shake the whole room. If I'm not mistaken, it can also do lower frequencies than an audio sub.

please dont mind my Typo in the picture!

What typo? :wassat:

I almost handle it this similar - just look at your speed!

If something wrong/unconformable with the readout of it -React!

How do you do it in a Car ?!- Didn't saw a brake-O-meter in it up to now.

OK- I have a buttkiker that tells me something about it.

But even If you don't have a direct response- Your Eyes should always be at your Airspeed- as I said : If something wrong with the speed : React!

:)

-already changed!

I Norrised you! :P ("Norrised" is copyrighted by 159th_Viper)

Speedbrake is the right spelling.

just realized: Whoo-Ho! I just made a double Norrising! (< this is from me!:P)
