amalahama Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Watching Wags' Start up video, I can see wipers are fully implemented. Are they only a beautiful animation, or do something into the sim? Are rain drops modelled? Regards!!!
Ratgnagna Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Hello! :P Sorry to use your thread, but i have another question about animated element on the BS. :smartass: On the forward antena, there are AOA sensors (or vector sensors, i dont know...), are they animated in DCS? This is a nice landmark to show the drift, no? Thanks! :) Sorry for my poor english... :helpsmilie: Bye! ;)
arneh Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I can see wipers are fully implemented. Are they only a beautiful animation, or do something into the sim? Are rain drops modelled? I really hope they model rain on the canopy. EECH does, and it is truely one of the most immersive effects in the sim. It's just so cool when the windows clog up and you have to use the wipers :) A tiny detail, but adds so much immersion! You can see EECH's rain at about 7:40 in this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fh8ue70sDXQ Edit: another EECH video with rain/wipers http://youtube.com/watch?v=TxXnnPz0adE
Flanker15 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I expect the rain drops will be modeled as the window wipers have multiple speed settings!

A funny detail it would be if the windshear could have insects sticked in summer, like my car in a summer's trip:lol:. OT-> arneh, your AH-64D cockpit for EECH is really cool!!! I hope you release it soon! Regards!!

dali Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 not only the rain drops, but also thick flys ending their miserable life on the windshield are modeled, too :D
Ditch3r Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 I really wonder if helos have problems with bugs.. you know with that big fan blowing stuff away ;) Yes they do. :) I have a picture of one in Afghanistan that is covered with bugs, I just can't find it right now. EvilBivol-1 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 ED is attempting to produce a raindrop effect, but as with infantry, getting the engine to do something not originally forseen can be difficult. We'll see. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
