sling load always available?

Hi,

 

I just found those pictures from the UH-1H with sling load, with date from december 2012. I thought, sling load is WIP?

The sling load graphics/skins are already in the huey texture zip file.

 

The skin looks exactly like what it is carrying in those pics.

 

Hmmm, interesting, could it already be in, and just needs switched on?

 

Anyone up to speed with LUA files? :)

Quality nothing like swooping into the neighbourhood and steeling someone's pool water lol.

Eagles may soar high but weasel's don't get sucked into jet engines.

Enabling the Sling Load in 1.2.5:

Start at Line#39

 

DrawRope=1;

DrawCargo=1;

CargoModelling=true;

CargoGround=true;

ExtCargoMass=500.0 -- kg (?!)

 

Start at Kobuleti and find a ready to hook cargo at runway 07 .

Enable the Cargo Cam = LCtrl + LShift + C

Un-hook the Cargo = RCtrl + RShift + L

 

Stablish a stable hover for 5 sec. to automatically hook it.

Strange I had already tried that Peter and I was getting game crashes..

 

Hmm, maybe it was because I wasn't using a standard skin? Strange...

So awesome, I wonder if it will be posiible (DM) to use it as battering ram.

I can think of so many fun aplications.

Huey dogfight anyone - kill the other guy using slingload :D

 

Or try to maneuver in order to wrap the slingload around your tail, without hitting the blades!!!

As i can see after a few minutes: (Just for Info and Help vor the Development Gods:

 

The Swinging dynamic is OK for the Beginning. Sometimes a little bit to nervous when you have speed and make steep Turns... (no its not possible to bring it up to the MR Blades :D

Personally i would love it, to put the load on the Ground and land beside it and the TO again (now it disengage and the Load is gone) (IMHO very Important)

How Heavy is it? 400-800kg's are good for Training...

There are sure triggers missing up to now that prevent that the physical calculations are going total chaotic and produces absulute impossible values...

just test it again.

 

the Cargo Mass has nothing to do with the load. it doesent fly different. Maybe the whole Helo is heavier but not the load... normaly you would feel that the Cargo is swinging.

 

the wait'n for an update has started :D

Since 1.2.5 there is a newly added line:

 

...\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Uh-1H\FM\FMOptions.lua line #43.

ExtCargoMass=500.0;

 

Does sling work with 1.2.5? I tried it, started in air but nothing..
