71st_Mastiff Posted September 17, 2014 Author Posted September 17, 2014 How so? Would it be a better idea to remove my JGSME folder before trying to update? your supposed to move all your JSGME folders to the other side (deactivate) before updating. any way. Lizzard Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 How so? Would it be a better idea to remove my JGSME folder before trying to update? this does not affect your JSGME mods folder..it affects ALL mods that copy files to DCS World/mods/aircrafts (mostly cockpit stuff) and YES..deactivating all JSGME mods prior to an update is essential! My Specs: I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..

I knew that, but thanks for the reminder, I almost certainly would have forgotten. So the only thing I'll have to do is reinstall any cockpit mods? As in the files will have been replaced (This is standard update procedure for me, though I took a 6 month break)?

So the only thing I'll have to do is reinstall any cockpit mods? As in the files will have been replaced (This is standard update procedure for me, though I took a 6 month break)? just copy and paste from inside aircraft and move over to the old aircrafts paste in there, Then delete the aircraft folder and then rename the aircrafts to aircraft that will fix it. do the same for your JSGME folder with cockpit changes, just rename the aircrafts to aircraft. DayGlow Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I did, I'm just making sure that there are no junk left over as I was messing around trying to figure out what happened. I uninstalled all mods before updating, but wiped my dcs install before reading the forum. I wasn't sure if the aircraft or aircrafts folder was correct and if I screwed something up. DayGlow Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 has anyone checked to see if the scripts/aircrafts folder was renamed to scripts/aircraft? "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11
chromium Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 has anyone checked to see if the scripts/aircrafts folder was renamed to scripts/aircraft? Negative, it is Aircrafts. Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

Raven Morpheus Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 So just to clarify, as I'm currently downloading the update, the only change is that mods\aircrafts has been changed to mods\aircraft?

Raven Morpheus Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 (edited) Yes Cool. Should be easy to manage then. Glad someone spotted this, otherwise I'd be wondering why my controls indicators mods don't work. Seems I have to overwrite them every time I update anyway as they always seem to go back to default! Well, just to be clear, it's the only change "folder-wise". See changelog here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2178959#post2178959 Yes I know, I meant mod breaking folder-wise.
