Hawkeye60 Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Since the last Open beta, and now today's release, If you try to use any P-51 based mod, DCS will crash. I need to log out to get back to the desktop. The DCS logs contain no useful information, however, the windows event logs do. I was alerted to this by the windows "message" sound. They show a license error. Both The P51's works fine. I have included the logs below. This was first reported by Dol, in this thread. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=230404 I understand you do not support mods, but this bug disables any aircraft mod using the '51. Please fix! Thank you!crash.zip "Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."
Sniper175 Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 sorry i have no solution but what mods are you using in the p51? I just use sound mods and no issues I7-8700 @5GHZ, 32GB 3000MHZ RAM, 1080TI, Rift S, ODYSSEY +. SSD DRIVES, WIN10
Hawkeye60 Posted January 25, 2019 Author Posted January 25, 2019 Any of Dols mods will cause this. I have many others that do it as well. Hawkeye60 Posted January 30, 2019 Author Posted January 30, 2019 This crash also happens with mods using the Spitfire. The common link between the two? Both have a additional aircraft version added. Patrick56 Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 (edited) This crash also happens with mods using the Spitfire. The common link between the two? Both have a additional aircraft version added. We confirm we have the same problem as hawkeye and dol and others. I will add that we made a mod based on the TF51 and that the microsoft visual c ++ runtime library window prevents us from going further (Runtime Error!) We hope for a quick fix where an explanation from ED...thank you in advance Edited January 30, 2019 by Patrick56 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Passion
352ndDeacon Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 It sure would be nice if ED would fix this problem. Too many of us are having trouble with mods based on the P51 and Spit.
msalama Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 with mods based on the P51 and Spit. Mods? ED's not responsible for unofficial content. Contact the mod creators if you want something done. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Rudel_chw Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Mods? ED's not responsible for unofficial content. Contact the mod creators if you want something done. Most of the people who wrote on this thread are in fact Mods creators .. this is the only means they have to inform ED that their recent changes to the P-51 and Spitfire are affecting Mods based on those aircrafts. Of course ED isnt responsible for any Mods, however ED is aware that Mods add variety and interests to their simulation platform, particularly for WW2 aircrafts, where ED's content is still very limited. .. and since using the Mods require you to own the P-51 or Spitfire it can only result on increased sales of those modules to people who dont care about the Mustang or Spit, but who would love to fly something like this: or this: or this: or even this: I can use none of these Mods anymore, and I really hope that ED will take a look and see if they can correct the origin of the problem. msalama Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Umm... yes? Not their responsibility still. And I'm pretty certain they don't want to make it theirs either. So umm... no? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
352ndDeacon Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 It's not the mod that is broken. It is something within the P51 that has changed and has not been reported as a change by ED. So when using the changed P51, the mod no longer works as designed. All they are asking is, "What changed in the P51?"
msalama Posted March 12, 2019 Posted March 12, 2019 All they are asking is, "What changed in the P51?" Check the logs and try to find out then. Because ED most likely won't even comment on this since it's unofficial mods we're talking about. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
