kingneptune117 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Just got a trackir 5 and everything is very sensitive. In some of the videos I see everything is super smooth with track ir 5 in DCS A-10 but mine is kinda jerky. I have tried playing with the settings but can't seem to get it just right. Anyone care to share their settings? I had his in mind particularly since it was so smooth... one problem... What do you mean run it exclusively? Do I open the software, select that profile, and then launch the sim? Or what? Because whenever I select ANY profile and open up DCS, it for some reason defaults back to the default profile. I have no idea why it does this but it is annoying. So can you explain step by step on how to get this profile working in game? Im a huge noob. EDIT and for the template should it one:one? edit 2 it appears that the profile you gave me and the default profile are almost exactly the same Edited December 31, 2010 by kingneptune117 "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." - Leonardo da Vinci Intel i7-4790k | Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo heat sink | Thermaltake Core V71 case | 750W EVGA PSU | 8gb G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 RAM | MSI Z97 Gaming 5 LGA 1150 motherboard | Samsung SSD | ASUS STRIX GTX 970 | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | TIR 5 | Razer Deathadder | Corsair K70

Inhere, you can set a profile in your profile directory to a specified game. On default, these are all set to the default profile!!! - If you change a profile and want to keep it, just press the "+" sign and give it a new name, then you can select your newly created profile for any game you like Think that is enough for now, otherwise things may get way to complicated...:D Edited December 31, 2010 by Lange_666 Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Topcat357 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 @Lange: Thank you for the info. I cant see any difference between the DCS profile and the Default one. I loaded it into Profiles folder. When I switch back and forth from the two...all the settings are the same (X,Y,Z,Pitch,Curves, etc). Are you seeing any differences? TC

TC that is because Wags profile is almost IDENTICAL to the default one. WarriorX Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 You must not have noticed the huge deadzone near the X Y intersection. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" Lange_666 Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Are you seeing any differences? TC Nope, i don't use the default one nor Wags profile. I use my own creation... But i'm thinking of getting me a TrackClip Pro for better responding but the wire is holding me back a bit. I would like to see a wireless version of this TrackClip Pro. Currently i'm not happy with the way TrackIR performs when looking down or down sideways into the cockpit (not only in DCS-A-10C but in every sim). It all depends a lot on the position of the camera and that is not 100% ideal here atm. For the moment, if needed, i use a quick repositioning of the forward view as a workaround for these jerky problems when looking down. LawnDart Posted December 31, 2010 Posted December 31, 2010 Anyone care to share their settings? TrackClipPro with... Speed: 0.5 Smooth: 25 Before I used a progressive setting with a small deadzone in the center, and tiny increments of acceleration to a relatively low setting then flat to the end. This gave me very precise movements, but I had to turn my head slightly more than some people might want to in order to look beyond 90 left/right/up. I definitely agree that the default settings are very sensitive and I've always tweaked them down to a very low setting in comparison to have much greater control. Frederf Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 But i'm thinking of getting me a TrackClip Pro for better responding but the wire is holding me back a bit. http://www.bixnet.com/usbbaboxc4aa.html ? Since the curve is multiplicative to the global sensitivity figure I leave it on 1 and let the curves do the work on a per-application basis. It's a shame that the smooth value is global because different applications differ on what's the best compromise between smooth-filter and immediate direct response.

Gonzo01 Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Can anyone suggest what keys I should use to map my track IR keys so they don't interfer with any of DCS keys?
WarriorX Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Can anyone suggest what keys I should use to map my track IR keys so they don't interfere with any of DCS keys? Since the TrackIR replaces the need for standard in cockpit view keys, I deleted their key assignments. (If memory serves me they were default to the Num Pad) I used the Numpad * key as my TrackIR center and I unchecked the Enable box for the Pause and Precision as I do not need them, and the F keys that are bound to them are needed for the Radio Interface. The rest of the unused Numpad keys were put to good use being assigned to map out the UFC (Up Front Controller) to my CH MFP. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Is that you John Wayne?.......Is this me?" El_Roto Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 I mapped the Center and Pause TIR functions to my mouse: Buttons 3 and 4, respectively. I unchecked all of the boxes for Precision because I never use it.
