Hi together,

well, i´m new in this forum and here is my creation of desktop panels.... Thank you all for the interesting posts with all the information i need to build these.

If someone like them, please check out the pdf file.

But there is one question left: Is it possible to map more then one action to a switch? For example, i want to switch the brightness of the MFCD together with the HUD-Mode (day/night).

That's a very nice solution you got there! I hope you don't mind if I ask some questions...

Do you have any photos of the inside of your panels? What material did you use for the panels? Is the surface engraved or is it just printed on paper? Where did you buy all the stuff and how much did it cost?

I'm from Germany, too... that's why I'm asking. I haven't looked for any good suppliers in Germany yet.

I´ve used MDF (like Plywood) 10mm strong for the case and 4mm for the panels. All switches are from "Conrad". I´ve printed the panels with a Laser-Printer and i used a special Foil (adhesive) to laminate the printout.

for example: http://www.schoenherr.de/shop/product/69.html

Inside each Panel you will find the arcaze interface with special connectors, also from "conrad" , because i dont want to solder on the interface.

I will make some pics, next time when the panels are open, but it looks like a spaghetti dish.

Now I´m looking for a problem solving with the multiple actions with one switch. I dont want to simulate keystrokes with the buttons. I would like to change the controller lua- file, if its possible.

Price: 50€ per Interface, 70€ Switches, 7€ MDF

Here are the switches...

also i´ve bought 25 mini switches from ebay (10€).

the rotary switch in the xps file is wrong. I got another one... something like this:http://www.conrad.biz/ce/de/product/709280/MINIATUR-STUFENSCHALTER-3-X-4

Thanks for the reply!

I also had the problem with one key triggering two functions when trying to use TARS in DCS. The only result I figured out was that DCS doesn't seem to be capable to catch the two events from one trigger at once.

Are you using Helios for the key bindings? I'm pretty sure, if there's no way to do it with Helios, then you won't be able to do it at all. But I'm definitely no expert at DCS or Helios...

I really like these. Good work Hellfire.

To be honest the reason I like them is though theyre A10C specific you could make a load of them for each sim and just swap them round based on what youre flying at the time. Also the fact that theyre self contained is very attractive to me.

Great work and I may well try to copy some of that myself as its been what Ive been looking for (modular panels interchangeable depending on sim) all over the place.

Some points i would do better ...

1. i thought that the YAW- Trim can be realized with a potentiometer, but the simulation do not accept an analog input for this function. I assigned the normal yaw axis to it. (i don´t have pedals...:)).

2. i want to switch on both COMM´s (complete) with one switch

3. i want to switch the MFCD with the HUD switch (day/night/off)

4. Fire Ext switch will be replaced...

5. By now i miss some switches... Lights, pitot heat, TISL....

6. next time they will be bigger with illumination

Thanks for the compliments Hellfinger.

That is kinda what I meant. I would be interested in seeing all your connector parts and how you wired to your USB interface.

I am also trying to make my panels more friendly in terms of wiring. I wanted to build something with connectors so that when I open the box I can just unplug wires rather than having them soldered or screwed.

Can you make a picture of the wiring and list all the conrad parts you used to connect the board? I live in Switzerland so I can buy from Conrad as well.

Thanks for sharing all this info Hellfinger. It is what makes this community great!

Hi Tigershark,

your Youtube Vids are funny and very intresting. Thanks for them. Now about your question: Do you mean these: http://www.conrad.biz/ce/de/product/...-VERGOL-RM-254 ? The connectors fit well an the arcaze-interface if you use 2 of the connectors for one row. But you need to file them up a bit...

Hi,

you can plug the connectors to the interface inputs. Four of them for all the Digital Inputs. Every Input has its own ground, so i,ve bridged them on the connector (one complete row). Every switch has a ground and a wire soldered to the connector. With the interface you can emulate Joypads with 20 digital inputs and some analog axes.

Here is the interface: http://simple-solutions.de/shop/product_info.php?info=p13_Arcaze-USB-Interface.html&XTCsid=94291b3df6a068f50a07723daaaab165

here you can find some tutorials: http://wiki.simple-solutions.de/de/products/Arcaze/Arcaze-USB/Arcaze_Video_Tutorials
