hog_driver111th Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I know this was mentioned some time ago, but I couldn't find the thread. Since there are so many of us building a pit, it would be great to have an internal view without the pit, still have the HUD, and still be able to see things like the external parts. I'm not sure exactly how to word it. In HUD only mode I feel like I'm flying a new invisible stealth attack plane, except I'm the only one that can't see it. G00dnight Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 AFAIK the hud mode you are thinking of was done by adjusting the forward view to just be the fire ex handles and hud, this will not work with trackers, its just for a static view. another one used a edited lua but this removed the whole cockpit section so it was almost the same as alt-f1 view but as you pan around you had odd bits of plane here and there. it wasnt very good IMO.. hog_driver111th Posted February 10, 2012 Author Posted February 10, 2012 That's pretty much what I was talking about. It'd be nice if the guys at ED could make a "pitless cockpit view" or something, where everything is taken out of the cockpit except the canopy rails and front canopy supports. This would still leave all the external stuff in view so that when we turn our heads, we can still see the wings, or look at the mirrors. I look at the wings a lot when I'm flying, especially doing ground reference maneuvers (turns around a point, etc). Woogey Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Could we just limit the downward travel of the VC view, so that it would not drop below the Canopy rail/Glare Screen? This way the 6 DOF would still work as intended, but without the redundant Panel.
Dimebag Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 What if you just replace the edm cockpit file with a blank placeholder, so then you end up with just the external model. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Find us at http://virtual-roulettes.forumotion.com/
hog_driver111th Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 What if you just replace the edm cockpit file with a blank placeholder, so then you end up with just the external model. And you'd go about doing that... how? PeterP Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 A clear cabina.edm will not be the solution. You will be able to look through the cockpit and see the gun/gears/outer world. So it has to be a cabina.edm with at least something like a Tub. As Far as I know this old mod will not work as it was in a *.lom format. I searched also for the thread some time ago but couldn't find it. BTW: Can someone be so nice and point me to the cockpit file in DCS:World - I want to try something tonight. BTW 2: - who ask for a cockpit-less cockpit is maybe also interested in this: How To :HUD Export A10C DCS-World for Real HUD
PeterP Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) BTW: Can someone be so nice and point me to the cockpit file in DCS:World - I want to try something tonight. ;) no need to help me in my search...;) I have found it in the meanwhile myself... I collected all info I could find in this thread: Cockpit Hud (Blackshark/A-10C) and hopefully soon fc2 - Page 9 - ED Forums regarding a "cockpit-less" view and did made a package with a pre-set that will enable it like in this Vid: As I wrote in my last posting : You will be able to look through the cockpit and see the gun/gears/outer world - but I think this is much better as flying without wings at all. You will have to use "3.For Pit-Builders - Cockpit and MFCDs in Cockpit OFF" All credits belong to trigen . Download "all Exports in DCS-A10 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.2.1 + Tub view Cockpit-Builders.zip": http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/145724/ Note: This files will work also for 1.1.1.1 Edited July 8, 2012 by PeterP
