Hi All Currently I have an stuttering problem with my reverb g2 and (only) DCS, I "debug™" my problem and what I found is every time a USB device is connected to the PC the game stutters. In my very own case, I believe, the VR-cable have a broken cable for the HMD audio, triggering disconnection and re-connection of the audio device -> leading to an unplayable game. How to reproduce: Even without VR you can use any related USB device, like a controller or audio-device start a game and then physically disconnect the device, this will trigger the freezing. [see example vídeos] Example video in VR here: Expected behaviour: DCS not freezing every time a USB device is (dis/re-)connected?? I attach the log with the device (un)plug info correlated to the stutters 2021-12-05 09:17:11.445 INFO APP: Device unplugged: \\?\USB#VID_03F0&PID_1841#8&7392e18&0&3#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed} 2021-12-05 09:17:24.554 INFO APP: Device plugged: \\?\USB#VID_03F0&PID_1841#8&7392e18&0&3#{a5dcbf10-6530-11d2-901f-00c04fb951ed} PLEASE ED-team, take a look on this issue it eventually will affect any random wired-vr user or wired-usb-(controller/audio) user dcs.log

So I am struggling with realism and I feel like it is my lack of experience. I wonder how others are getting accurate engine and afterburner vibration from the game. I have 2 large transducers under the flight Pedals and 2 behind and under the flight seat and finally a Basskicker branded one mounted under the center of the rig. I have split the audio signal going to my VR from the game and outputting it to the 5 basskickers. I get vibration, and its kinda there... but as you hear the afterbourner growl in ear, it doesnt translate to the basskickers.. It is almost like it needs more BASS signal, hoping one of the people smarter than I have seen and have a solution. I know the hardware is more than capable since it does it perfectly in Assetto Corsa and Dirt Rally 2, both different manufacturers. Also has a nice effect in Star Wars Squadrons.

I got my first VR headset (Reverb G2) this weekend and I'm honestly blown away. I was expecting to get a slide show with my mediocre machine but It's very nice and smooth and I don't see myself going back to a 2D monitor again. There are a few problems though and one of them is the audio. The built in speakers a good and comfy but due to the distance from the ear, and the fact nothing is blocking ambient sound, alot of the game's audio is lost or too faint. As an example; I can no longer hear the APU coming online in the Hornet. How do you guys deal with this problem? I have tried wearing my usual headset over the Reverb but that's doesn't work. Is there some sort of addon you can get to "isolate" you from the ambience of your environment and get immersed in the virtual sound space, like with a normal headset?

This may seem quite pedantic in the overall scheme of things, and it is, but something I've always wanted is a more realistic sonic boom effect for the S-8 rockets passing by. There were a few videos I'd seen a couple years back of Mi-24s and Mi-28s in Syria, performing rocket strafes over-top someone who was filming them, and the cracking sound that came off those things was straight up terrifying; Kinda like the effect you get from those all too well-known A-10 strafe videos, but a lot more potent, and at a lower pitch frequency. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I cannot for the life of me find any of those clips, so this post is also a bit of a callout to anyone who has a video link of any S-8 strafes where the camera is somewhere between the helicopter and its target. All that said, the new sounds we've got for the actual launch of rockets, as well as their impact are night and day compared to what they were. Really enjoying the Mi-24.

I'm trying to be able to have music play during a mission I'm building in the editor while also being able to have other audio files being triggered without it just stopping the music. That way I can have the music playing while have audio files of people talking at the same time. Is there a way to do this? I haven't been able to find anyone mention this issue so I assume either I am a total forehead and the answer is right in front of me, or its impossible to do which would be pretty lame.

Does anyone know? The original files are encrypted now so I can't take a peak. A followup question: are there some audio files in DCS that have a different sampling rate than the rest of the files?

Most of the continuous cockpit sounds (ie engines) sound like they are on a five second loop. Once you hear it its hard to ignore and really breaks immersion. This was pretty common on early sims but I have not heard it on any other DCS modules.
