There are 2 things that I find kind of implausible with regards to the behaviour of systems in the Hornet, here is the first one. The Dispensor switch has 3 positions: OFF-ON-BYPASS What I find not very plausible is, that when I turn it ON, let it do all its self-tests and then turn it to BYPASS, because....well I come to that later.... But let´s say, I turn it back to ON subsequently, it goes through its selftest again and then remains in STBY mode. Now why do I find that unplausible?: The bYPASS position is a position beyond the ON position, so I would consider it a submode of it being ON. Apparrently you can release Chaff/Flare, so it must be on somehow. Why do I find it annoying?: Let´s think about what the usecase of the BYPASS position might be... There are 2 that come to my mind. The first one is an "items check" during the Fence-in in order to check if C/F dispense correctly. It is kinda´hideous that after that you have to go through all the button presses on the EW page in order to set your desired progarm...let aloe the waiting time for the self-tests. The other use case would probably be training sorties, where you don´t want to dispense that many C/F on every press, but chust want to do it for the purpose of training, but therefor rather more often per sortie. Do I have proof, that my claim is correct, and switching fom BYPASS to ON should not trigger the self-test and simply return to it´s last state? No. I simply think it would make more sense. mission time 23:59. TV mode shows the same image as Whot. TV should have higher resolution and a black image at night.

So i have this issue where mavericks do not slave to the new targeting pod, i tried to follow the guide on youtube but either i am doing something wrong or i dont know what else, but the mavericks just arent reaacting to the pod in any way shape or form. (i hope this trackfile is the righ one since i dont realy understand this). LastMissionTrack.trk

When cycling through targets using MT on the ATP, the coords don't update until you point or area track. Is this correct behavior? See the wags video at 9:25.

Did ED do any testing with the ATP before release? Here is the ATP not even trying to follow a bugged and non-maneuvering MiG-19. -Ryan MiG-19_ATP_fail.trk

I can't use 17xx code on TGP. LSS or L.

Hi, how can I make the F-16's HUD appear a little more purple and also reflect the HUD projector? Thanks and best regards.

Having an issue where I have to keep moving my head around to see all the information on my HUD. I would move my head in all the way then zoom out a bit and it gets semi better, but then goes back to being cut off on each side anytime I zoom anywhere in the cockpit. I am sitting 19" away from my monitor so I don't think its a distance issue on my end. null Does anyone have a fix for this in settings? Thanks!! null

After the last update, I've got some issues with NVG's use, my night vision is blurry and not clear enough, any settings I've missed? Or have anyone had any similar issues? any settings suggestions?

There are 2 years that I'm off and I'm starting again with DCS. After start-up procedure, the ailerons are up and I can't down with trimmer keys. I have request to other pilots and tell me that it's a bug, sometimes happens. Pushing T/O and FCS RESET buttons, the ailerons don't go to middle position. There are new procedures to do that?

Hey folks. Running on one of the many server that has like 10 different types of air defences on the same spot, so even with the EXP function, you can rarely read. Last time I had a SA15, 10 and 19 on the same spot. Took me 20 minutes for my HSD to verify it. Me loving to lob my HARM on POS from a thousand miles away, its a bit annoying. Also, if say HSD shows SA19 and I kill it, how long until it dissapear from datalink? Thanks!

The A-10CII has two separate commands for each radio. The trouble is the VOIP command (which I suppose is intended for SRS) doesn't bring up the radio menu and the radio menu commands don't work with SRS. Other modules like the Hornet combine these commands or like the M-2000 have a PTT which calls the radio menu and also works with SRS. Not sure why the A-10 has these redundant commands, but they don't function very well. They should just be combined.

The little black "deblock guns" button near the bottom on the center pedestal I cannot find in the control bindings list.

It was turned to max by default but now it is off totally. It happens to F/A-18C also.

Hello, i tray to fire rockets in pairs but a can fire only 4 or 6 from 6 or 10 and can not fire rest of them. If i take 6 rockets, i start fire with no.5, set on Rocket Counter, and fire no.5 and no.6. Then i set no.3 and fire no.3 and no.4. Then i set no.1 and i can not fire anything, in any way. Last two rockets remain under wings and no go any way. If i take 10 rockets, start fire with no.9 and fire 9 and 10, then set no.7 and fire 7 and 8, then set no.5 and fire 5 and 6, then even i set everything i can not fire any remains rockets. if i fire rockets no.7,8,9 and 10, by settings no.7, then no.3,4,5,6, by settings no.3, i can not fire rockets no.1 and 2 if i fire rockets no. 7,8,9,10, than no. 5 and 6, then no chance fire rest of them, no.3... Rockets Release Control Switch is set to AUTO. If it set to SINGLE, no problem is here and i cant fire any rocket when i want. Or is here any restriction on firing sequence? Thanks EDIT i forgot add this, it is the same for DCS 1.5 and DCS 2.0

Hi, I know it won't be the more important feature but the shake effect we've got in other modules are pretty immersive and that could be a good idea to implement that especially with more high effects for GAU 8 shooting.

hello is it just me or has the landing gear become very week since the update . i am landing well within the acceptable carrier weight of 34000 and most times the gear are damaged . i didn't think i was that rough on the equipment.is this a problem ,are there others having this same issue as i am ? New to DCS and the F-18C Module. On startup, not able to get radar to scan. The vertical scan line stuck in middle of display. Any help greatly appreciated. On Windows 11. Cockpit switch status provided in two images attached.

In previous versions of DCS, Holding TMS UP while in ACM BORE mode would temporarily turn off the radar and NO RAD would be displayed on the HUD. After the Dec 24th patch, I noticed that NO RAD was no longer displayed when holding TMS UP. After update 2.7.15.25026 I’ve noticed that the F-16 has a lot more adverse yaw when at slow speeds than it used to. I’m not entirely sure if this is actually something wrong with the flight model but it is very strange having to use the rudder in a fly by wire jet. I’ve held off on this due to the lack of information I have to support this but I figured it would be better to just post here instead of sitting on it. F16 Rudder 22 6 22.trk

I've been noticing that the refresh rate of the HUD overall is really low. I've measured that the HMCS updates at 60 and the HUD updates at 20. I'm not sure if this is a graphical issue or not because some other modules I have show 3D object animation also playing at 20 Hz (like doors and panels opening/closing), which is strange to see when the rest of the game animates at 120. I've come across a small number of references that say the HMCS supplies a 60hz refresh rate to the pilot, so I have no quarrel there. However, the HMCS is not responsible for drawing the HUD, but it's a piece of hardware I can find specs on. While this means nothing regarding what the HUD's rate itself should be, I know for a fact something's off because one of the components of this rate has a SPEC requirement. All data sent to these devices to be displayed in numerical form are spec'd to display at an update of 4 Hz for readability per a MIL SPEC unless direction is changed, in which case it will update no later than 12ms later and the refresh rate following it is rephased. So for example, if you are holding near perfect altitude or velocity and the value bounces back and forth, you could visually see a high refresh rate "flicker" values, but in continuous decay or increase, it will only update at 4 Hz. However, in DCS, if appears like entire package updates at 20hz including bearing tape, target boxes, and VVI, components that were mandated to update visually by at least 60 Hz minimum in the mid 70's. Additionally, all numerical values are updating far more quickly than they are supposed to. I could try to measure that to be accurate, but no point really because it's obviously not 60 or 30. Examples of this can be found on any YT video of a DCS F-16 by counting frames using <> keys and I linked one at the bottom. This obviously can't be proven with YT videos of RL HUD tapes uploaded at 30 fps, but 30 is still far better than 20 and I also linked one of those below. What I can't seem to find is, what the update rate of the HUD is supposed to be. I suspect it either has to be 60 or 72 but can't find design specs exactly, but I see a lot of suggestion it was also mandated shortly after the F-14 due to performance studies, requiring it to be 60 Hz minimum. This doesn't necessarily mean the bus feeding the HUD with data had to be updated at 60 Hz, but we do know it's interpolated with the F-18's HMCS to display smooth motion at 60 Hz when receiving data at 20 Hz, similar to the F-16's HMCS. Is this something that I can fix with a graphics setting? Is it just an early development hitch? What is the HUD refresh rate supposed to be and how do you know? References METRIC (aerospacelightinginstitute.com) Using Helmet Mounted Displays to Designate and Locate Targets in the Urban Environment (tennessee.edu) MIL-STD-1553 Designer's Guide (milstd1553.com) In the above video, numerical data updates at 4 Hz, while everything else updates at 30. However, the video itself is only 30 Hz so a 60 Hz display would not be seen. I just realized the previous video was from a bit of a newer model F-16, so here's a much earlier Block 30 showing the same measurement. In the above video, some (not all) of the HMCS components update at 60 Hz but the HUD only updates at 20 Hz. Careful when measuring in this video because there are slo-mo sections that will give smaller results.

Hello, I'd like to discuss the F16's flight model with you because the flight sensations aren't great (that's my opinion), I find the aircraft heavy and not very manoeuvrable, the sensations of moving through the air aren't worthy of a jet, I feel like I'm flying a Boeing 737. When I take the Mirage 2000, the feeling with the aircraft, the sensation of flying in CAT load or Air is incredible, the F16 in cat 3 seems so heavy to me. That's normal? I don't really enjoy flying it any more because the electric flight controls seem to have a lot of inertia and not much precision. I hope that this will improve over time because I find it hard to want to fly it.

The throttle is mapped it work fine in the training missions but will not move forward and back in the missions and does not work. I have tried the throttle lock in-case that was the issue. It makes no difference. I have it mapped in D-9 real it works fine in the control options panel. Am I missing something?
