Using the FCR from the back seat, my procedure has been to pick up a target with the FCR, visually identify it with LINK, and then engage. To facilitate this, it would be very nice if George would automatically go to maximum zoom level when FCR LINK is active. It would also be very nice if we could command George to pick up the target with the TADS and prosecute it without going through the "search for target" menu. What i am envisioning is that, when FCR LINK has control of the TADS, a new set of George menu items becomes available: Consent to fire -> George takes over the TADS and prosecutes the target with the selected weapon. (exit to regular George menus) George Up Short -> track selected target (exit to regular George menus) George Right Short/Long -> change TADS Zoom, switch TV/FLIR George Left Short/Long -> change weapon George Down -> track and lase selected target (exit to regular George menus)

Having played on quite a few public servers there is disappointingly a complete lack of the longbow radomes. This is because by default the "remove radome" option is checked automatically meaning mission creators would have to go out of their way to specifically change the option themselves to have any apaches carrying radomes in the mission. Especially for countries like the UK that do not use the apache without the longbow radar equipped it takes away one of the main unique features the helicopter is known for. I can think of 4 possible solutions: 1) Longbow Radomes are equipped by default and have to instead be manually removed by the mission creator 2) Radar can be equipped and removed in the rearm/refuel window 3) Radar can be equipped and removed with a kneeboard page when cold and dark (like customising the flare program) 4) Longbow radar is forced onto the aircraft when UK apache skin is applied (When apache unit belongs to CJTF Blue faction) The option to remove the longbow radar when the apache belongs to the UK faction should be deleted entirely as its not accurate for the Apache AH1

What does Image Auto Track/Offset do? Currently it seems like it is not working as the button simply does nothing. I was hoping for some kind of point track or ground stabilizing feature. I read the entry on it in the quick start handbook, but I can't make sense of it. What is offset tracking, why would you use it. What's a primary or secondary track. What's a track in the first place? The manual just throws those words around as if they've been explained elsewhere already.

When asking george to slave to your HMD, he will ask which target to lock up if there are multiple. However if there is only one, I would still like him to tell me what he sees. For example I ask him to slew to some area and there is a AAA and a truck, for example. Then I fly along and suddenly there is a building in the way of one of them. He just says "Target stored" (and he stores nothing, by the way) and I don't know what he locked up now. Should I shoot a hellfire or not, is it the truck or the AAA? I like the target selection to pop up, even if there is just one item in the list, just so I can confirm what he is actually going to shoot.

I've noticed that the rounds from the cannon are usually visible in RL FLIR footage but not so in the new DCS FLIR. I've also found this interesting article on the thermography of bullets in flight. Would be a cool and realistic addition, unless I'm missing something obvious. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7764414/

The L stands for laser, I assume we're supposed to get laser warnings? Is anyone else getting laser warnings? I've had a lot of ATGMs fired at me but haven't gotten a single laser warning. It would improve SA to know you're being painted before an ATGM is launched at you. Am I missing something?

I remember reading in the manual there is a version without the aux internal tank where you can have 1200 rounds instead of 300. I can see it making sense for real life where there are extended loiter times and all, but in the sim I'd prefer 1200 rounds and less fuel just because I'm training and want more ammo, or I'm in MP and my ass gets shot down too quick anyways to burn through my fuel. I searched the topic but didn't find anything. So I was curious if this will be an option for us?

Would be nice if you could ask CP/G George to store a target point where he is looking. I would not want to see him do this automatically (he actually says "lased and stored") as it would create a huge mess of target points. Preferable for the player pilot to ask for it via the George UI.

Hi, dont know, is it working on the current stage (EA)? For example, I found targets, saved them and Id like to sent it to the other player (in the second copter) in MP. Is it possible or not yet?

So I was noodling around trying to find out why the gates aren't able to be turned off and I found the bug after 5 mins. The command in the mission editor to show them to a unit includes a field called 'FLAG' with a value of 1. I guessed this was the ON flag. Setting it to 0, five seconds after it had been turn on, via another trigger in the ME, indeed turned it off - but for a millisecond. They visually flash but reappear. So I made a little test mission and script that after 10 seconds in mission, it sets the flag to 0 and loops every thousandths of a second and does it again And guess what, they vanish. Then, another trigger at 20 seconds turns off the loop and the gates return; oddly the gates for previous but now deceased waypoints return - another bug? Attached is the mission file. What we can conclude here is that the FLAG field on SHOW HELPER GATES FOR UNIT, is indeed the ON/OFF switch, but there is a bug in the game code that turns it right back on again. Obviously this doesn't permit granular turning off of individual gates at each way point, but it does permit them to be removed completely. helper_gates_bug_demo_TF-51.miz

I know that Zoom is not implemented currently... But will it do what it sounds like? Providing Zoom in when targets are close together? Ot is there more behind it? I hope Zoom is coming soon as it is quite hard right now to see what you are shooting at when targets are bunched up. The FCR symbols are quite big.

With all the new and upcoming maps it gets increasingly difficult to find missions and such in the User Files. And while the whole User Files should be reworked, especially the search function, it would be great to get at least a filter for the terrains, similar to the one for units for now. Any chance we can see something like this? It would make searching for a specific terrain so much easier. Because when I search for "Sinai" e.g., there are currently 50 files, half of which are skins and even some missions for Caucasus...

Hello! I saw a few videos now on youtube where the pilot can change to a more detailed map, so to say "zoom in", When I use the right scale knob I just get a black picture instead of the more detailed map. How do we get this to work? Example of a video where he zooms in: https://youtu.be/F4vRTTm9jmw

Hi, i flight on Syria and noticed, when i zoom in on the map, it only turns black anyone else with the same problem ? Or maybe im doing something wrong ?

implemented Map doppler scale button, only one scale in Syria.
Frag posted a topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
Hi guys, I noticed that when clicking on the map doppler scale button on the Syria map, the zoomed map is black. I just want to double check with you guys if I am not missing anything before opening a bug. Could also be an early access thing, but don't remember reading anything about this one. -
implemented Map doppler scale does not work on the Syria map.
Frag posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
Found few threads here and there on the subject, but not in the bug section. In the Syria map, the doppler scale button will return a black map! I think the ground crew forgot to put maps in -
Any chance on seeing either of these implemented in the near future? I can sort of side-fumble-approximate these by jumping in front, setting sight to TADS and acquisition to FCR or the target point i am interested, then pressing "slave" on the RHG before jumping to the back again, but i have to re-do that process after every engagement. not generally worth it outside of orbiting and looking for targets in general.

Hello! With the new FCS the way to make IFF is with the Link mode in future, but for now we have to go to gunner seat, Store the scaned icon on FCR or TSD, store it, and slave to the TADS to see it. Would it be possible to add a function in George menu to Slave the TADS to the selected T01, T02.... T0x that is selected please? That way we as pilots can create the target points and tell George to aim for them, even having laser missiles. Thanks!

Any plans on giving George the ability to freely search for targets like our gunner would in Gunship 2000, Longbow 2 or Gunship! ? This would be really nice for him to call out these targets/threats as he sees them without the pilot having to spot them, turn the Apache and then issue a search area command. In Gunship 2000 he would say stuff such as "target right" or "target left" etc. but nowadays I bet he could call them out by the o'clock position or bearing.
