SU-25T - AOA + G limit error when powering on plane at parking

Hey everyone :)

 

First of all, finally back to DCS after... well years of not having been into flight sims due to school and various other person reasons. Just returned a few days ago and I'm just amazed at what have happened! Downloaded DCS: World and have been playing it almost non-stop this weekend :D This game is aboslutely gourgeus, and it must be the best and most ambitious combat flight sim I know! Already itching to buy some new modules ^^

 

Anyways, so I've been doing a lot of practice flying and learning some theory about the SU-25T. There's one thing that keeps bothering me, though. I haven't been able to find anything about it.

 

When I'm at the airport doing a new mission, just being parked and getting ready to take off, I will power up my electrical systems, and immediately I will receive a loud AOA + G limit warning. As far as I know the AOA is an angle of attack warning, but I'm not even flying yet so I'm not sure why it's giving me the error.

 

Both errors stop when I start to move the plane slowly, though... :huh:

 

What's up with that? And how can I turn those warnings off?

There is a button in the setup called ..... turn off audible warnings . It turns off the audible warning believe it or not .

 

Now ..... go and buy A-10C !!!

 

I had the same experience ..... was away from flight sims for almost 15 years ..... I had quite the shock too .

 

The truth be told , it is really a brilliant sim , even if I do bitch about it sometimes .

Viper I have the same issue in the 25T. It only happens for a short moment so I really just ignore it. I guess you could turn off the audible warning, but for me, the duration is so short I just ignore it.

I just had this happen in the training mission where you fly from Georgia to Russia, but not in other missions.

 

Does turning off audible warnings silence all of them or only the currently active ones?

Yes! This is exactly the same mission where I get the warning, but I've now noticed I get it when playing online, too.

Possibly I just don't pay attention but I don't recall this as an issue.

 

That said, in a lot of the higher fidelity aircraft there is a brief test mode when you power avionics on, and alarms and warning lights will go off. Some do it automatically, for others you have to push a test button.

 

The idea is that before you take off it's important to know if your warning systems are functioning properly.

 

On the Su-25, you definitely want the AoA indicator to function properly.

 

Could of course also be a minor bug in the program or in the mission file.

Callsign "Auger". It could mean to predict the future or a tool for boring large holes.

 

I combine the two by predictably boring large holes in the ground with my plane.

the AOA vane could be anywhere on start up depending on who last fiddled with it from the outside or where it came to rest. Once you get some airflow (wind or forward speed) it should become valid as the vane aligns with the relative airflow.
